Bulharský román Vítězslava Nezvala, aneb V. Nezval a Dora Gabe v česko-bulharských literárních souvislostech / Bulgarian connection оf Vítězslav Nezval, or V. Nezval and Dora Dabe in Czech - Bulgarian literary relations

Georgieva Ivanova, Sylvia January 2019 (has links)
- English Vítězslav Nezval's Bulgarian Romance, or Dora Gabe and V. Nezval in Czech-Bulgarian Literary Connections I first heard about the personal encounters and relationship between the poets Dora Gabe and Vítězslav Nezval in the 90s at the Bulgarian Embassy in Prague. And the information was indeed proven to be true - not only had the poets known each other, they even collaborated on translations and inspired one another. The epistolary correspondence between Nezval and Gabe still bears witness to this. Their real- life romance eventually transitioned to their literary work. A substantial and more important fact is that the romance inspired several works by both - Nezval and Gabe. Perhaps the most interesting footprint comes in form of their joint translation of Gabe's auto- biographical prose work Dávno (Once upon a time), which she had primarily written in 1932, and Nezval's novel Jak vejce vejci (Cut from the same cloth) from 1933, although this is merely an indirect illustration of the work and the creative personality of Dora Gabe, a reflection of sorts. Dora Gabe met Nezval in the Autumn of 1931 at a memorial evening held for the passing of Thomas Alva Edison at the Vinohrady Theatre in Prague, during which Nezval's poem Edison was recited. The poet left a direct written testimony about...

Zobrazení rodiny ve španělské a české frazeologii a idiomatice / Depiction of Family in Spanish and Czech Phraseology

Pérez Medrano, Jana January 2019 (has links)
The aim of this diploma thesis is to describe Czech and Spanish idiomatic phrases related to family members. The thesis consists of three parts - theoretical, practical and case study. The initial part is dedicated to theoretical aspects of phraseology and determination of basic terms regarding the differences in approach of Czech and Spanish linguistics. The base of the practical part is a corpus of Czech and Spanish idiomatic phrases which are analysed from semantic point of view. The emphasis is primerily put on the research of the rate of equivalence between Spanish and Czech idioms and to the investigation of differnces and common features between both languages. The case study follows on from the list of Mexican idiomatic phrases related to family members that are further analysed from semantic viewpoint.

Postoje občanů v pohraničí jako indikátory geopolitické reality - případová studie České republiky / Attitudes of border dwellers as indicators of the evolution of geopolitical reality in states - the case of the Czech Republic

Aldridge, Gregory Luke January 2020 (has links)
This thesis aims to understand, in the case of the Czech people living along the borders, the extent to which they are, and have become, more "internationally minded" in recent decades. Three theoretical approaches to understand the attitudes of those living along the boundaries are identified as the Realist Securitisation, Liberal Openness and Bordering as a Process paradigms. Descriptions are presented of the historical and demographic nature of the Czech borderlands as well as developments in Czech politics and attitudes to foreigners in the last two decades. Detailed regression analysis at the level of 6,300 individual municipalities is undertaken to empirically test the theoretical paradigms and to control for other factors so as to understand the specific impact of the boundary on the attitudes of those living alongside it. The formation of attitudes is a complex process in which history still seems important and not all interactions with foreigners are seen as improving attitudes towards them. However, against a backdrop of lower support for EU integration and greater concern over immigration in the Czech Republic as a whole, open borders since accession to the EU have coincided with border dwellers becoming in many, but not all, cases less Eurosceptic and less opposed to migrants than is...

Aspekty sněmovní aktivity poslanců Parlamentu České republiky / Legislative Behaviour of Deputies in the Czech Republic

Hájek, Lukáš January 2020 (has links)
Scrutiny of legislative behaviour of members of parliament (MPs) has a long tradition in Western Europe. Nonetheless, there has been a research gap in the Czech Republic. Thus, the dissertation thesis identifies the most burning and exciting questions and delivers the answers as a collection of to some extent separated but still interconnected studies. To be more specific, I employ quantitative methods of analysis. I deal with the data on all the members of the Chamber of Deputies of the Parliament of the Czech Republic who held the mandate between 1993 and 2017. Overall, the original and unique dataset consists of 1,518 legislators and their comprehensive parliamentary activity. The results suggest that two main conflicts drive parliamentary politics - the institutional division between ruling parties and opposition, and the ideological left-right socio-economic dimension. Besides this, the thesis shows that both the age and tenure of the MPs noticeably affect their parliamentary activity. While older and more experienced MPs propose more bills, address more speeches and obtain more intra- parliamentary posts than young novices, the latter group focuses on the work outside of the parliament. Next, the gender differences in the parliamentary activity of Czech legislators resemble patterns from...

Katecheze dospělých. Situace v Československu a ČR / Catechesy for the adult. Situation in Czechoslovakia and the Czech Republic

Černý, Štěpán January 2012 (has links)
This work uses analytical-comparativel methodology in basic outline trying to map catechetical-pastoral activity of the Church in Czechoslovakia since the establishment of the first republic to the present. Given the extensive topic it is focused only to selected major figures of Czech churches who were acting from the thirties of the 20th century to the Velvet Revolution and who, through their services, influenced the lives of many people. Work first defines the terminology and then presents a theoretical study of basic post-conciliar magisterium of the Catholic Church documents, relating to the subject of work - catechesis of adults. In this light as well as in historical and social context of the past, this work also perceives testimony of life, services, and ideas of three giants of the era which were Tomislav Kolakovič, Ota Mádr and Jan Evangelista Urban. Through their lifes analysing the literary works of those, this work will show individual paths of adults-catechesis and what these theologians were anticipating with as it was found later in church documents.

Presented work introduces basic view of Catechesis in Czech Republic considerating from the foundation of the republic - Czechoslovakia - till now. There is a note in introduction of how we actually understand Catechesis to place the words to context. Reflections and opinions of the church are mentioned in the text as well as references to some documents of church and also notes of Catechesis held in the church outside the Czech lands to clarify the topic of Catchesis in the Czech Republic. Together with resources from books listed in the end of the work, some personal experiences of an author for the period of last thirty years are also noted. The work does not attempt to be a complete outlook on the whole issue but is rather a look at this issue from a new angle.

Ne/zavedení aplikačních místností v České republice / Non/introduction of drug consumption rooms in the Czech Republic

Moravcová, Magdaléna January 2014 (has links)
Magdaléna Moravcová Diplomová práce Ne/zavedení aplikačních místností v České republice Abstract The thesis titled Non/introduction of drug consumption rooms in the Czech Republic is devoted to the controversy that surrounds the debate on the possible introduction of drug consumption rooms in the Czech Republic. It focuses on understanding the attitudes of actors of czech drug policy towards this tool by examinig discourse through analysis of language and speech they use. The analysis of discourse identifies two discoursive groups . The first group are advocates of introduction of drug consumption rooms who adopt the discourse that is marked as a humanist and a second group are the opponents, who adopt the discourse I named as represionistic. The thesis reveals the value contest behind these discourses and also points to the associated discoursive conflict on how to make policy. Such a discourse significantly affects the form of the discourse on the possible introduction of drug consumption rooms in Czech Republic. By using the theory of social construction of target populations the text is looking for an answer on how the target population of problem drug users is socially constructed, and how the character of such a construction is related to the attitudes towards the introduction of drug consumption...

Environmental policy and firm financial performance / Environmental policy and firm financial performance

Horváthová, Eva January 2016 (has links)
In my PhD thesis I investigate the relationship between corporates' financial and environmental performances. The concept of quantitative environmental performance measures was introduced to enable to compare and analyse environmental impacts of different socioeconomic units e.g. companies, countries, regions. In my dissertation, I use environmental performance measures to examine their effect on the financial performance of different companies. In the first chapter, I apply a metaanalysis to examine the results of the previous studies which investigate the impact of firms' environmental performance on their financial performance. The outcomes propose that it is important to account for the omitted variable bias such as unobserved firm heterogeneity. The results suggest that it takes time for the environmental regulation to materialize into the financial performance, too. In the subsequent two chapters I study Czech firms over 20042008. First I study the intertemporal effects of corporates' environmental performance on financial ...

Smoldering Embers: Czech-German Cultural Competition, 1848-1948

Hone, C. Brandon 01 May 2010 (has links)
After World War II, state-sponsored deportations amounting to ethnic cleansing occurred and showed that the roots of the Czech-German cultural competition are important. In Bohemia, Czechs and Germans share a long history of contact, both mutually beneficial and antagonistic. Bohemia became one of the most important constituent realms of the Holy Roman Empire, bringing Czechs into close contact with Germans. During the reign of Václav IV, a theologian at the University of Prague named Jan Hus began to cause controversy. Hus began to preach the doctrines outlined by the Englishman John Wycliffe. At the Council of Constance church officials sought to stamp out Wycliffism and as part of that effort summoned Hus, convicted him of heresy and burned him at the stake on July 6, 1415. Bohemia rose in rebellion, in what became the Hussite Wars. Bohemians elected a Hussite king, George of Poděbrady. Shortly after his death, the Thirty Years War began and resulted in the Austrian Habsburgs gaining the throne of Bohemia. The Habsburg dynasty suppressed Protestantism in the Czech lands and ushering in a brutal Counter-Reformation and forced reconversion to Catholicism. By the nineteenth century, a revival of Czech culture and language brought about Czech nationalism. Spurred by the nobility’s desire to regain lost power from the monarchy, a distinct Czech culture began to coalesce. With noble patronage, Czech nationalists established many of the symbols of the Czech nation such as the Bohemian Museum and the National Theater and initiated Czech language instruction at Charles University in Prague and finally a separate Czech university in Prague. The first generation of nationalist Czech leaders, lead by František Palacký, gave way to a newer generation of nationalists, lead eventually by Tomáš Garrigue Masaryk. Masaryk, a professor at the university, successfully lead the efforts during World War I to create an independent Czechoslovakia. Masaryk’s decades-long debate with historian Josef Pekař over the meaning of Czech history illustrates how Czech nationalists distorted historical facts to fit their nationalist ideology. The nationalists succeeded in gaining independence, but faced unsuccessfully forged a new state with a significant, but problematic, German minority.

Nakládání s nebezpečným materiálem na stavbě / Handling with hazardous materials on construction site

Máčaiová, Klaudia January 2022 (has links)
The aim of the diploma thesis was to point out possible legislative differences between the Czech and Slovak Republics and to provide examples of asbestos disposal prices. The theoretical part briefly summarizes the waste, it is legislation and the share of construction waste. The chapter entitled Asbestos provides a brief overview of the history, mining and diseases caused by asbestos. In the practical part I devote with the legislative methodology of asbestos disposal according to the Czech Republic. Based on the relevant laws in the states, I subsequently evaluated the differences between the countries. I also devote with the procedure of disposal of sewer pipes and roofs, for which I subsequently created a budget with reference to the price of asbestos disposal.
