Lidské tělo v české a švédské idiomatice a frazeologii / Human body in Czech and Swedish phraseology

Kuželová, Jana January 2012 (has links)
and key words The aim of this final thesis is to compare the Czech and Swedish idiomatic expressions, which include words related to the human body. Using the list of idiomatic expressions generated from the available phraseological dictionaries and other literature and subsequently tracing Czech equivalents, it is mainly focused on the degree of equivalence of somatic idioms in these two languages. The theoretical part is devoted to phraseology as a linguistic discipline, differences in the conception and definition of the idiom in Czech and Swedish and it also defines the types of equivalence used in the practical part. The practical part is in addition to the above mentioned equivalence focused on the frequency of use of the individual parts of a human body contained in the collected sample of idioms, their classification and equivalence. It also deals with several groups of idioms and demonstrates the differences in their perceptions. Marginally it devotes to the etymology of some selected terms. Key words: Czech, Swedish, human body, phraseology, idiom, equivalence, etymology

Vybrané aspekty jazyka rozhlasových pořadů o vaření / Selected aspects of radio programmes on cooking

Jelínková, Blanka January 2012 (has links)
This thesis discusses selected linguistic aspects of two radio culinary broadcasts (Rozhlas u plotny, Pochoutky). The theoretical part deals with the tradition of spoken language research, its resources and the phenomena studied. The conclusion of this chapter is devoted to the approaches to spoken language focused on coherence and cohesion. For the purposes of analysis, transcripts of above mentioned radio culinary broadcasts were made. Specific transcription rules (based on different existing transcription rules) were created, to suit our type of analysis. In Rozhlas u plotny, the guest is a professional chef, in Pochoutky, the guest is an actor or a presenter. First part of the work briefly describes and compares language of these two types of speakers in the terms of phonetics, morphology, lexicology, syntax and stylistics. Subsequently, the main part of the thesis concentrates on textual syntax and describes cohesion and coherence of spoken dialogue. From this point of view, it focuses on comparison of two types of dialogues (and two types of speakers): predominantly continuous dialogue vs. predominantly interrupted dialogue (e.g. by overlapping talk). Thus, it gives examples representing various ways of retaining cohesion and coherence in continuous dialogue and in interrupted dialogue. Key...

Bibliographic citation POLYÁK, Oliver (2012). The impact of Euro Adoption on Competitiveness: The comparison of Czech Republic and Slovakia. Prague, 2012. 71 p. Master thesis (Mgr.) Charles University in Prague, Faculty of Social Sciences, Institute of Economic Studies. Master thesis supervisor prof. Ing. Oldřich Dědek, CSc. Abstract The present master's thesis is focused on the impact of introducing the common European currency on competitiveness of a country. There has been a lot written about the possible effects of euro adoption on economies of the first eurozone participants. The contribution of this thesis is that we explore the impact of euro introduction on competitiveness of Slovakia, in comparison to the Czech Republic which still uses its own national currency. Our findings suggest that most of the analyzed competitiveness indicators evolved largely in parallel in both countries. Positive trade effects brought about by the introduction of the euro are rather moderate - up to 5%. Slovak credit development was more favorable during the crisis, reflecting lower interest rates in eurozone. On the other hand, high contributions to European stabilization funds may hamper Slovak economic growth and negatively influence country's competitiveness in future. The impact of macroeconomic factors on financial institutions credit risk during the global financial crises, case in Czech Republic

Jusufi, Gent January 2012 (has links)
This study aims to estimate the ratio of non-performing loans to total loans (NPL ratio), its determinants and its response to different macroeconomic shocks. As the last financial crises had negative impact on the economy of many countries of the world, we have to strive for preventive measures that would help us to fully or at least partly avoid future crises. It should be achieved by sound risk management practices of all financial institutions. Important part of these risk management practices shall be - among others - stress tests that would test the health of the institution under severe conditions and negative shocks. For this study the vector autoregression model (VAR methodology) is used to see the response of credit risk (in terms of NPL ratio) to macroeconomic shocks in the Czech Republic. The variables used for this study are quarterly time series data of the period from 2002 to 2011 (GDP, inflation rate, unemployment rate, koruna exchange rate (CZK/USD), and interest rate). For each of these variables the impulse response function was created, to show the impact of macroeconomic shocks and the speed of adjustment of NPL ratio to these shocks. Přesnost satelitních modelů v zátěžových testech bank / Satellite Model Accuracy in Bank Stress Testing

Hamáček, Filip January 2019 (has links)
Satellite Model Accuracy in Bank Stress Testing Abstract Filip Hamáček January 4, 2019 This thesis is dealing with credit risk satellite models in Czech Republic. Satellite model is a tool to predict financial variable from macroeconomic vari- ables and is useful for stress testing the resilience of the banking sector. The aim of this thesis is to test accuracy of prediction models for Probability of De- fault in three different segments of loans - Corporate, Housing and Consumer. Model currently used in Czech National Bank is fairly unchanged since 2012 and its predictions can be improved. This thesis tests accuracy of the original model from CNB by developing new models using modern techniques, mainly by model combination methods: Bayesian Model Averaging (currently used in European Central Bank) and Frequentist Model Averaging. Last approach used are Neural Networks. 1

Odhadování vlivu načasování prvního dítěte na dlouhodobé mzdy matek v České republice / Measuring the Effect of the Timing of First Birth on Mothers' Wages in the Czech Republic

Hummelová, Magdalena January 2019 (has links)
Measuring the Effect of the Timing of First Birth on Mothers' Wages in the Czech Republic Magdalena Hummelová December 31, 2018 Abstract This thesis investigates the effect of fertility timing on women's long- run wages. Following the work of Herr (2016), by considering fertility timing in terms of labour market experience at the first birth, we study the effect on wages observed in the window 15 to 20 years after the labour market entry. This allows us to build different models for two groups of mothers: those entering the labour force with and without a child. We come to the conclusion that there is no effect of fertility timing for women entering the labour force already having a child. For women entering the labour force childless, the estimated postponement effect differs depending on whether they have an earning partner or not. If they do, there is clear cost of fertility delay by one more year (contrary to expectations) associated with a decrease in wages by 1%. This finding is very likely connected to a trend of lengthy parental leaves in the Czech Republic. If a woman does not have a partner, we observe an insignificant effect of first birth delay, yet positive. Comparing the results for women living in versus out of Prague, we see no significant difference in the effects.
