Praha: Faculty of Arts, Charles University, 2015. 144 pp. Master Degree Thesis. The Slovak minority is considered to be the most integrated minority in the Czech Republic. The work offers an analysis of the cultural diversity, focusing on the Slovak minority and the transformation of its identity. It summarizes examples of the social integration of Slovaks in the Czech Republic and assesses its role in a real life. The Slovak question in the Czech environment is also presented in a historical perspective, but the main emphasis is put on the analysis of current situation. The work is complemented by own filed research that it maps the real situatiton of transformations of identity and the social integration of the representatives of the Slovak minority, including the functionality of the institution which deals with the integration of the Slovak minority. This diploma thesis deals with the relationship of archaeology and the general public in Czech Republic. The aim of the thesis is firstly the analysis and consequent evaluation of the current situation in presentation of Czech archaeology and secondly, the proposition of possible solutions of this situation. The thesis contains the theoretical parts besides the practical ones, which present the point of view of both general public and experts, on the ground of realized research of public opinion. Some of the chapters contain also foreign analogies, that have to serve as means to deeper understanding and demonstration of broader comunication possibilities between archaeologist and the public. System of proportional representation in the Czech Republic and its critique Abstract The diploma thesis "System of proportional representation in the Czech Republic and its critique" deals with the proportional representation in the Czech Republic, particularly its most criticized aspects. The purpose of this paper is to analyse this system, its characteristics, forms and reforms under the Czech conditions. The first chapter defines proportional representation and describes its constituent elements - a legal threshold, electoral formulas (quotas and divisors), electoral districts and tiers and preference votes. Chapter Two is concerned with four specific forms of this system applied in the Czech Republic. It describes elections to the Chamber of Deputies, local elections, elections to the regional assemblies and European elections. The third chapter outlines the problems of Czech electoral reforms - specifically the big reform of elections to the Chamber of Deputies from 2000 and the case of Prague elections in 2010 which both had to be brought to the Constitutional Court. The research is primarily focused on particular representatives of architecture, on their work and subsequently on responses to them abroad. The development of architecture is seen in the context of a historical framework which consists of the critical milestones of our history. Social, ecological, political and cultural determinants, which are presented on the basis of the historical framework, affect architecture as a material expression and a tangible artefact of a particular society. The research is represented by two seemingly self-contained evolutionary lines of Czechoslovak and Dutch achitectures. Během 90. let se v české společnosti začala konstituovat nová společenská vrstva singles, která upouští od tradičních hodnot týkajících se vstupu do manželství a založení rodiny a rozhodla se žít o samotě. Právě singles se stali předmětem mé diplomové práce, kterou jsem rozdělila na část teoretickou a část praktickou. V teoretické části své práce jsem se pokusila vystihnout základní problematiku singles, svou pozornost jsem zaměřila nejen na charakteristiku, ale i na různé typologie singles, jejich partnerské vztahy, zmínila jsem také historické okolnosti, které ovlivnily vznik této skupiny lidí. V teoretické části jsem se také věnovala otázce sňatečnosti a reprodukce, pokusila jsem se pomocí literatury zjistit, jaký názor a jaký postoj k této problematice zaujímají současní mladí lidé a také jakou vizi o své budoucnosti mají. Vzhledem k tomu, že obraz singles není dosud ucelený, rozhodla jsem se v praktické části své práce zjistit, jaký obraz o životě singles poskytují média. Jako média jsem zvolila dva typy periodik, a to časopis Maxim, který je primárně určen pro muže a časopis Harper's Bazaar, který je určen především pro ženy. This thesis is a case study examining Czech public procurement in medi- cal machinery industry. It proposes and applies several practical methods for identifying risk of bid rigging, such as: frequency analysis of participation of the same small groups of firms, analyzing ownership structure of participating firms and frequency analysis of systematically excluded bids of firms. Results include presence of cases of the same small groups of firms which bid more fre- quently together with no other competitors. Main contribution of the work lays in outlining some analytical possibilities for practical detection of bid rigging risk. Abroad is the method of peer work dealing with the involvement of drug users (active and retired) extended far more than in the Czech Republic. Information and data are available mainly from foreign sources, where peer work has been continuing a tradition. In the Czech Republic, this method is still not so much used, as well as is the lack of Czech professional literature on the subject. Method of peer work in the Czech Republic has not been comprehensively mapped, described and evaluated. They are organizations dealing with the involvement and employment of drug users, which usually draw infromation from foreign sources and work with their data. There is no comprehensive overview, providing information and data in this area in the Czech Republic. The target of this work is to map the use of peer work in the Czech Republic in the area of drug services. Within the sub-targets are the structure and functioning of each peer programs studying. The practical part is realized by an empirical research (research orientation) in order to get a general overview of the analysis of the problem in the form of quantitative research. This work is focused on the analysis of divorce rate and the marriage patterns of divorced spouses in the Czech Republic after 1992. The work analyzes changes in the structure of brides and grooms according to their age, education and time elapsed from breakdown of previous marriage. Impact of Marital Dissolution on Fertility in the Czech Republic Abstract The intention of this study is to analyze fertility of people who experience a divorce or husband/wife death in their reproductive age so it could be find out if these people have more or less children than people whose marriage persists until the age of 50. The conclusions are made based on the study of data from the second wave of Generations and Gender Survey which took place in the Czech Republic in 2008. The life table method (its output Survival Distribution Function) and Cox regression model are used for the analysis. Reproductive behavior of people who never enter into marriage, those who spend their reproductive age in the first marriage and those who experience the first marital dissolution before their 50th birthday is compared. The analysis of divorced and widowed people fertility is supplemented by evaluation of an effect that certain variables like age, number of children and age of the youngest child in the year of the first marital dissolution have on the follow-up reproductive behavior of these men and women. 1 Abstract The thesis whose subject is Comparation of legislation of National Parks in the Czech Republic and the Republic of South Africa deals In detail with the legislation of national parks, especially in comparison of the Czech legal system and the legal system of South Africa, but also with the international law and European Union law. The aim is mainly to analyze in detail the individual instruments and institutions that govern the environmental law in relation to national parks and to acquaint the readers with scope of nature conversation in Europe and Africa. The thesis also serves and explains the basic terms related to the territorial regulation of national parks and protected areas (prior to national parks) on both continents. National parks are the most important type of protected area; they are declare by the state and in the scope of nature conversation national parks are the most crucial mean of conversation. The regulation of national parks is embodied in the laws of individual states; in the Czech Republic it is the Act on the protection of nature and landscape of 1992 while in South Africa it is the Protected Areas Act of 2003.
