Rocha, Neilaine Ramos. January 2017 (has links)
The central objective of our doctoral research is to analyze the different conceptions of the dynamics of history, contained in the ideas that characterized the theoretical debate between developmentalists and liberals in the 1950s and 1960s. This debate crystallized in the intellectual production of two great names of History of economic thought in Brazil: Celso Furtado and Eugênio Gudin. The analysis implies highlighting the different conceptions of history contained in the developmental and liberal theories, concepts closely linked to the projects and solutions proposed by these intellectuals for the problem of the lack of economic development that Brazil lived in the context in question. The debate between the ideas can be seen in great part of the intellectual production of the authors, such as: books, articles, interviews, studies commissioned by the State itself. These sources provide us with the fundamental elements of the divergences between these ideas, thus signaling two distinct theories that intertwine economy, state, society, individual, wealth, progress, and politics. The central hypothesis of the research is that these conceptual differences would be linked to the great matrix of antagonism that would give life to the debate, that is, the conception of History, the action of man and his results over the years, which would or would not generate the development. It is our intention with this research, therefore, to demonstrate that the theoretical debate about the economic development, observed in the decades of 1950 and 1960, is historical source to understand that different conceptions on History based different projects, by means of which concrete solutions were sought to overcome the economic and political atony that Brazil experienced / Doutor
