The Directory of Open Access Journals (DOAJ) is the world’s most authoritative list of scholarly, peer-reviewed, fully open access journals, and a “must” for libraries of all types. As of August 2007, DOAJ includes over 2,800 titles, over 10% of the world’s estimated 20-25,000 peer-reviewed scholarly journal titles. This is an impressive list; in terms of numbers of titles, DOAJ compares favorably with commercial journal packages. DOAJ is growing rapidly, at a rate of more than one title per calendar day. DOAJ’s highly functional and aesthetically pleasing interface features a number of search options, including a new search option for authors looking for open access or hybrid journals to publish in. DOAJ is freely available, and working towards economic sustainability through an optional membership / sponsorship program. This article examines the DOAJ membership program in some depth. Membership fees for libraries and library consortia are an incredible bargain. The membership fee for DOAJ’s 2,800 (and growing) title list is less than the average subscription cost for a single journal in any scientific discipline, and DOAJ represents significant staff time savings for libraries. The promotional benefits of DOAJ membership are important to position libraries for leadership in the internet age, and especially in the key emerging area of scholarly communications. DOAJ is a very popular service among libraries, with a strong reputation for quality; membership or sponsorship is likely to be highly beneficial to library service providers. As a free resource, DOAJ is strongly recommended for all libraries. DOAJ titles can be included in A-Z journal lists, library catalogues or websites, and subject-specific URLs can be added to subject guides or pathfinders.

Den här rapporten täcker ett examensarbete som gick ut på att kartlägga och utvärdera användarfilosofin i ROS som utvecklas av Sandvik Systems Development. ROS, RåvaruOptimeringsSystem, används som stöd till produktionen på Sandvik AB:s stålverk. Det primära målet som sattes upp för arbetet var att visa om det går att skapa en koppling mellan ROS och Sandviks Active Directory för att på så sätt slippa skilda lösenord mellan systemen. Rapporten följer arbetet från att ta fram modeller av nya metoder för användarhantering till implementering av några prototyper i en testmiljö. Rapporten tar även upp vilka nya metoder och tekniker som måste skapas för att en fullständig implementation av systemlösningen ska kunna göras.

This work discusses about configuration and integration of Single Sign On against to Active Directory which serves as an authorization into web applications for Air Navigation Services, CZECH REPUBLIC by company Ifield Computer Consultancy Limited. Part of the work is performed the results of testing of the performance these two type of implementations for two different applications. For the theory part I've been using relevant literature, but for some tools, namely Scimark and JMeter, there is none, so I had to settle with internet sources. The main benefit of this thesis is the result of testing of comparison two different implementations of the Single Sign On generated using NTLMv2 and SPNEGO/Kerberos.

El presente trabajo de investigación está basado en la implementación y desarrollo de un negocio a modo de emprendimiento con un gran potencial de escalabilidad, innovación y crecimiento, apoyándonos en modelos de negocio que aprovechan las nuevas tendencias y tecnologías disponibles para la realización de una idea. Nosotros elegimos el desarrollo de una plataforma web, de modo que esta funcione como un servicio de directorio de abogados en línea. Esta plataforma fue desarrollada con el fin de beneficiar a los estudios de abogados, abogados y practicantes de la carrera de derecho que cuenten con dificultades de conseguir nuevos clientes. Por otro lado, también pensamos en las personas que tienen problemas al momento de contactar a un abogado especializado o que necesiten una asesoría legal económica. Este trabajo presenta los fundamentos primarios de investigación, validaciones de todo el modelo de negocio planteado para probar que la idea es factible, los resultados de las ventas realizadas por medio de canales seleccionados, plan operativo propuesto, los planes de recursos humanos, marketing y responsabilidad social corporativa, así también como el plan financiero para poder hacer realidad esta idea de negocios y las conclusiones finales del mismo. / This research work is based on the implementation and development of a business like an entrepreneurship with great potential of scalability, innovation and growth, based on business models that take advantage of the new trends and technologies available for the realization of an idea. We choose the development of a web platform which works as an online lawyer directory service. This platform was developed in order to benefit the studies of lawyers, lawyers and practitioners of the law career who have difficulties for getting new clients. On the other hand, we also think in people who have problems for contacting a specialized lawyer or need economic legal advice. This paper presents the primary fundamentals of research, validations of the entire business model raised to prove that the idea is feasible, the results of sales made through selected channels, proposed operational plan, human resources, marketing and the corporate social responsibility plan, as well as the financial plan to realize this business idea and the final conclusions. / Trabajo de investigación

The dissertation deals with requirements, analysis, description and integration of Single Sign-On solution based on SPNEGO/Kerberos protocol. The thesis provides an overview of the Single Sign-On basic principles and concepts and deals with the Kerberos authentication mechanism in more detail. After introducing the fundaments of the Kerberos protocol, its terminology and common implementations, attention is focused on the services and settings of Microsoft Kerberos implementation in Windows 2000/2003 environment. An authentication solution demonstration is performed on J2EE platform using the authentication filter and plug-in. The thesis also includes a brief overview of integrating the Single Sign-On solution into different architectures of corporate information systems and describes the implementation process of this solution. In conclusion, the usability of Kerberos Single Sign-On solution in today's business sector is analysed.

This diploma thesis deals with design and creation of a software application in a particular company. Application is created for needs of IT department and it is used to simplify and streamline the processes related to user accounts in Active Directory. This thesis describes the whole process of application creation from analysis of current status through analysis of requirements and creation of application structure to the creation of application in programming language C#.
