Framgångsfaktorer och hinder för samverkan och informationsutbyte gällande föräldrars drogproblematik : En intervjustudie med socialsekreterare och poliser / Success factors and barriers to collaboration and information exchange related to parental substance abuse : An interview study with social workers and police officers

Mattsson, Lisa, Tiverman, Olivia January 2024 (has links)
A study revealed a knowledge gap regarding collaboration between social workers in child and family services and police officers. The aim was to investigate the obstacles and success factors in collaboration and information exchange that social workers and police officers experience in cases involving parental substance abuse. The method used was a qualitative interview study involving four social workers and four police officers who were interviewed using semi-structured interviews. The results were analyzed using thematic analysis and linked to previous research and a systems theory perspective. Findings indicate that collaboration is largely constrained by confidentiality issues and differing objectives. Good relationships and trust are seen as a success factor for information exchange, while a lack of knowledge about each other's professions is identified as a barrier. From a systems perspective, collaboration is influenced by all three systems: micro, meso, and macro.

Ellerstad, Emelie, Lindström, Theresa January 2021 (has links)
The aim of this study is investigate how social services and school experience how the collaboration process works between them when it comes to youth in high school with drug- related problems. The study is qualitative in its form and is based on an abductive approach and a hermeneutic interpretive theory. The empirical material includes semi-structured interviews collected through a goal oriented convenience sample. The interviews include four social workers in the child and youth unit on social services, two teachers and two school counsellors. A thematic analysis method has been used to synthesize data. Two theoretical approaches were used in the analysis of the results; systems theory and Bourdieus field theory of power, as well as previous research. The results show that there are many factors that affect the collaboration process between the social service and the school, factors like scope of actions, authority, secrecy, lack of knowledge and resources. There is a desire among both parts to create more collaboration between them so that the young people with drug-related issues could be detected at an early stage and get the interventions they need. The consequences of a non-functioning collaboration can lead to young people with drug-related problems being missed and falling between the cracks, which leads to them not receiving the help and support they need.

The social services work for children who have parents with substance use- disorders

Österström, Isabelle, Berghällen, Julia January 2021 (has links)
Authors: Julia Berghällen och Isabelle Österström. Title: The social services work for children who have parents with substance use- disorders. Supervisor: Johan Billsten. Assessor: Torbjörn Forkby. The purpose of this study was to provide an increased knowledge and understanding of how social workers work with children whose parents have a substance use disorder. The background to this study is that a large number of children live with parents who don't have the ability to care for them because of their disorder. Despite the parents lack of abilities to nurture and protect the child, the family or the individuals in the family don't always get the help and support that they are in need for by their surroundings. There is a perception that the social workers ability to help the children is affected by laws and regulations as well as by the structures of the system. The study was conducted by using a qualitative method, where six interviews were made with social workers from two different departments children, and adults. The interviewees were from two different municipalities. The interviewees were selected through a strategic selection where we only selected the profession area to social workers. The study was analyzed on the basis of three theoretical points, thematic analysis, hermeneutics and system theory. The results of the study are for the most part consistent with previous research. The most prominent results from the study are the importance of the social workers competence to utilize their abilities regarding interacting and cooperating. But also, being able to work within the structures regarding laws and regulations, and being able to see individuals as individuals in different systems.
