Srovnání preklinických DCE-MRI perfusních technik / Comparison of the preclinical DCE-MRI perfusion techniques

Minsterová, Alžběta January 2016 (has links)
This diploma thesis deals with DCE-MRI (Dynamic Contrast-Enhanced Magnetic Resonance Imaging) thus one of the contrast magnetic resonance imaging methods. It describes the principle of conventional continuous DCE-MRI, which uses single bolus of contrast agent and further it focuses on the dual bolus contrast agent techniques, especially the interleaved acquisition. The graphical interface for processing Bruker systems data was made. Synthetic data were used to evaluate the influence of this method on the perfusion parameters estimation. Simulations proved that the further the second bolus is from the first one, the better results are. Simulations of acquisition interruption did not lead to the clear result. However, two statements, which are expected to lead to as good estimation of perfusion parameters as possible, were formulated

Exploring domestic violence : a case study of the victimisation of women and children in Mankweng Policing Area, Limpopo Province, South Africa

Phasha, Madibe Jane January 2021 (has links)
Thesis (M. A. (Criminology and Criminal Justice)) -- University of Limpopo, 2021 / The purpose of this study was to explore domestic Violence, closely looking at the victimisation of women and children in the Mankweng police area, situated in Capricorn Municipality, Limpopo Province, South Africa. This study sought to identify factors contributing to abuse against women and children, to assess types of abuse experienced by victims and to determine measures that can be applied to prevent it. This qualitative study applied the exploratory research design to recruit participants using non-probability sampling techniques, specifically purposive sampling tehniques. About Fifteen (15) participants, including Twelve (12) local SAPS officials and three (3) social workers attached to the SAPS FCS who work closely with domestic violence, were selected in this study. Data was collected using semi-structured face-to-face interviews. Based on the transcribed data, themes were extracted and analysed using Textual Content Analysis (TCA). This study established that there are factors that contribute to the occurrence of domestic VAW and children; victims are affected by domestic violence (I.e., Be it physical, sexual, psychological and financial); and that there are measures that may reduce its occurrence. Findings of this study indicates that factors such culture, alcohol abuse, financial dependency, and exposure to abuse at early childhood contribute to the occurrence of domestic violence and that victims experience abuse differently. For recommendations, there is a need for Educational programmes on domestic violence legislative framework(s), especially the Domestic Violence Act [DVA] (No. 116 of 1998). They should be strictly enforced to assist perpetrators to note the seriousness of this crime and the detrimental effects of their actions. The response of the Criminal Justice System (CJS) on this practice should be efficient in this regard. The potential victims should be aware of different steps to take to avoid domestic violence and related abuse. There also a dire needs for the available service providers, such as the social workers, health professional and police to be familiar with effective ways to deal with this practice. Valorisation des ajustements Xva : de l’exposition espérée aux risques adverses de corrélation / Pricing of XVA adjustments : from expected exposures to wrong-way risks

Iben Taarit, Marouan 08 January 2018 (has links)
The point of departure of this thesis is the valuation of the expected exposure which represents one of the major components of XVA adjustments. Under independence assumptions with credit and funding costs, we derive in Chapter 3 a new representation of the expected exposure as the solution of an ordinary differential equation w.r.t the default time variable. We rely on PDE arguments in the spirit of Dupire’s local volatility equation for the one dimensional problem. The multidimensional extension is addressed using the co-area formula. This forward representation gives an explicit expression of the exposure’s time value, involving the local volatility of the underlying diffusion process and the first order Greek delta, both evaluated only on finite set of points. From a numerical perspective, dimensionality is the main limitation of this approach. Though, we highlight high accuracy and time efficiency for standalone calculations in dimensions 1 and 2.The remaining chapters are dedicated to aspects of the correlation risk between the exposure and XVA costs. We start with the general correlation risk which is classically modeled in a joint diffusion process for market variables and the credit/funding spreads. We present a novel approach based on asymptotic expansions in a way that the price of an XVA adjustment with correlation risk is given by the classical correlation-free adjustment to which is added a sum of explicit correction terms depending on the exposure Greeks. Chapter 4 is consecrated to the technical derivation and error analysis of the expansion formulas in the context of pricing credit contingent derivatives. The accuracy of the valuation approach is independent of the smoothness of the payoff function, but it is related to the regularity of the credit intensity model. This finding is of special interest for pricing in a real financial context. Pricing formulas for CVA and FVA adjustments are derived in Chapter 5, along with numerical experiments. A generalization of the asymptotic expansions to a bilateral default risk setting is addressed in Chapter 6.Our thesis ends by tackling the problem of modeling the specific Right-Way Risk induced by rating trigger events within the collateral agreements. Our major contribution is the calibration of a rating transition model to market implied default probabilities

Dordová, Aneta January 2019 (has links)
This thesis deals with three novels written by a contemporary French writer of literature for children and young adults, Timothée de Fombelle: Toby Alone, Vango and The Book of Perle. The aim of this thesis is to define options of incorporation of these novels into literature lessons in higher grade classes of the elementary school. The thesis consists of a theoretical analysis of chosen aspects of the novels, description of subjective experience with reading the books, three excerpts from the novels, their didactic potential and model preparations for the lessons. The model lesson preparation includes the three-phase E-U-R learning model as well as the methods developing the ability of understanding and critical thinking (RWCT - Reading and Writing for Critical Thinking). Each model preparation is followed by a didactical commentary. Preparation of lesson with the excerpt from Tobiáš Lolness was implemented practically and consequently reflected by the teacher. The thesis also includes selected works from the students. As ascertained, the novels by Fombell show various mutual signs as well as the fact that they have a significant potential to engage attention of a young reader, since they provide topics interesting for this age group in accordance with the stage of their psychological development....

Problém transcendence u Jana Patočky / The Problem of Transcendence in Jan Patočka

Frei, Jan January 2014 (has links)
This thesis focuses on the problem of transcendence as it appears in Patočka's most relevant papers covering all periods of his work. The problem, conceived as an act of an individual, is examined in its three structural moments - its How, Whence, and Whereto. As for the How, the thesis discerns two kinds of transcendence: a constant and unconscious one that is mostly a matter of sensual perception, and a deliberate one that consists in reflection and, in Patočka's papers from the 60s on, in practical action as well. The Whence is usually the sphere of calculability and utilitarity, or a state when man is distracted in manipulating things and identifies himself with roles that are connected with this manipulation. In all this, human mortality is in control. The Whereto, in Patočka, is symbolized as World, Universal Life, Idea, Being, Appearing and suchlike. In the experience of transcendence, the thesis discovers an active and a passive aspect that may be stressed more or less in particular descriptions. The same applies to the aspects of affirmation and negation between the act of transcendence itself and its empirical manifestations. The thesis, at last, shows three possible failures of transcendence, as indicated by Patočka. Powered by TCPDF (www.tcpdf.org)

Architektonická studie sakrálního objektu a komunitního centra Salesiánského Brno - Líšeň / druhá etapa / Architectural study of the sacral object Brno - Líšeň / second stage

Lyzhanov, Iurii January 2021 (has links)
The main task of diploma is creating a sacral object and community centre of Salesians in Brno-Líšeň. A construction of the Salesian complex started in 1998. As a result, the whole complex of institution got to the district of Brno-Lisen with the help of the endowment fund for youth. The Congregation focuses on the methods of educating the youth of Don Bosco, the father and teacher of the youth, the first head of the Salesian. The creation of a church is a very desirable step for the Salesian Center, because Masses are currently being celebrated in the existing building in the gym, where not everything is needed to carry out of the event. The church should be developed in the vicinity of Salesian centre and has to be available for a wide range of societies. The architectural project includes the designing of church, parish building and enviroment. The form and view of the complex suit to this environmental area and react on its entire structure. The object consists of two forms, which are connected by the horizontal communication. In the middle of the Salesian complex, there is a semi-open area. The first object is a church with a capacity of approximately 200 hundred visitors, the second object is a parish building, which perform the functions of administration with multifunction space for the exhibitions, aparmtments and offices for its employees.
