This paper presents enterprises, Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs), citizens of the three non-governmental actors and the relationship of the ecological environmental governance, and explores the interactive relationship between of central government and local government. On this basis, ecological environmental governance network theory as the core, proposed new ways to analysis the necessity and feasibility of ecological environmental governance network, and construct multiple actors of collaboration the new model of governance network. ¡@¡@The serious of environment problem in Mainland China faces severity influence economy growth, society security and people healthy. The environment depravation degree forces the environment non- government organization and citizen to joins. This paper used the case in the Huaihe River Valley. The environmental NGO, Huaihe River Guider, successes to connect with central government, citizen, and enterprise. Mainland China's central government still needs to strengthen rule of law construction and market mechanism establishment, particularly lawmaking guarantee the citizen participate, the solution mechanism of environment dispute, an arrange taking of dirty tax and fees etc., and then to expand this model to the pollution of various type in each city. Government absorbs the environmental governance experience, funds and technique of developed country by attending global governance, and then raises the environment quality of earth.

Resource Analysis of Small-diameter Tree Above-ground Biomass in Mississippi

Tiruveedhula, Mohan P 30 April 2011 (has links) (PDF)
Small diameter trees refer to the trees with diameter at breast height (DBH) ranging from 5 to 11 inches. This research focuses on the resource analysis and spatial distribution of small-diameter tree (SDT) volume in Mississippi by a set of grouping variables including DBH class, species, stand size, forest cover type, ownership, and county groups. Regression and spatial interpolation techniques were used to predict the SDT volume for pine, hardwood, and mixed forest covers. Regression analysis resulted in a low regression coefficient (R2) without inventory data for all the forest cover types. The mean SDT volume to the total volume was greatest for pine (0.6), followed by mixed (0.4), and hardwood (0.3) forest cover. Non-spatial estimates indicated the total volume within respective groups. The spatial and non-spatial estimates of SDT resources can guide forest management personnel to effectively focus their management efforts.

This dissertation is the investigation linked to the research line "FEA: Fundamentals of Environmental Education PPGE / FURG", being a study on the formation of the first group of students from the Technical Course on Environment of the State College Lemos Jr, located in the city Rio Grande-RS, in order to understand whether the Environmental Education and Vocational Technical High School, especially the Professional Area Environment, guide the training to prepare for professional responsibilities in the crisis socio-ecological-environmental regulations taking into account the existence (or not) of environmental concern, according to the proposal of PPGEA - Graduate Program in Environmental Education, Federal University of Rio Grande, in scientific and technological studies that guide the formation of the professional technician level. The methodology used is qualitative research combined with the theoretical and methodological paradigm of complexity in the proposed Edgar Morin, who provided an understanding of the data which constitute the legal guidelines for national professional technical high school education, the course plan the school studied and interviews conducted with four students from the first class in training. During the research we structured the chapters to show the understanding we have about the relationships that underlie the formation of the coach, including the context of professional education in Brazil, the major changes in public policy education for this area, the stigma of training technicians according to the manpower required to market in order to understand how culturally and historically happened this way. Also, try to show the vision of an institutionalized form of EA which guides the public educational policy regarding the inclusion of this modality in the curricula. Also the proposal presented by EA PPGEA with regard to formation of citizen-super critical environmental crisis. Since other aspects mentioned are issues related to curriculum and also to the environmental crisis and more specifically relates to issues of science, education and technology. In our analysis we cared to reflect on the issue of training and its relationship with EA, so we point out limits that are directed to visualize fragmented curriculum proposal from the National Catalogue of Vocational Courses to the organization of the Course Plan which we could observe a clearly disciplinary structure. The concern with EA permeating the curriculum of the training of technicians in the environment and the role of a trader before the crisis were the basis of relationships established during the research, aiming at the complexity of the subject's relations with technology, society and environment. The interviews conducted with former students, allowed to corroborate the reflection that points to the inadequacy of a disciplinary curriculum, which not optimizes the possibilities of EA in the training of technicians.

Environmental/ecological, economic, and social factors inhumanitarian response : A qualitative case study reviewing the humanitarian response delivered by USAID in Haiti with the sustainable dimensions in focus

Madsen, Ane Kok January 2022 (has links)
In the past decades, there has been an alarming increase in the amount of toxicity on earthdue to pollution and consumerism and the natural environment is faster than everdisappearing due to the extensive activity of humans on planet earth (Nations United,2020; United Nations, 2020). The increased amount of rubbish and non-natural waste hasbeen identified as a major issue in the supply chain and waste management inhumanitarian organizations across the board. This thesis has reviewed existing academic research and identified the five commonthemes: Management – training and standardization – stakeholders and donors -transparency - climate change and development, in which the ability to become moresustainable is present. United States Agency for International Development (USAID) hasbeen showing environmental accountability and for that reason, its environmental policyand supply chain have been addressed to understand its waste management and if it issupporting the three sustainable dimensions. Plastic pollution is addressed as a humanitarian crisis and arguing that the devastatingeffects that microplastics are having on our ecosystem and it is clearly showing that it iscausing harm to the environment, the economy, and the social effect. Haiti has since theearthquake in 2010 received a variety of aid, majority from USAID but the sustainableaccountability in their action have been hard to identify. Reviewing the work of USAID and their collaboration with environmental protectioncompanies makes you likely to say that they are supporting the three sustainabledimensions but with further assessment, it is obvious, that humanitarian waste is doingharm and there must be improvements within the organization’s perspective onwaste/plastic while attending a crisis.
