A method for predicting consumer heat power usage was examined, for the purpose of implementing such a method in simulation models of the district heating distribution network at Stockholm Exergi. This was to enhance the results of such simulations and aid the company’s work with distribution optimization. A method based on power signatures, which are models currently used in many applications, was examined. The method aspired to describe the consumption patterns of consumers over time and temperature, categorize consumers according to these patterns and then implement the results in the simulation models. The addition of a time parameter to the signatures resulted in an improved and more consistent prediction quality. Categorizing the consumers mathematically caused only a minor decrease in the prediction quality and resulted in better prediction quality than the categorization system currently used. Stockholm Exergi is adviced to keep examining mathematical categorization of consumers as such a categorization has several advantages to the one currently used. It is also recommended to examine options to Termis for performing individual consumer predictions as the program is not well suited for it. Such options could be other software or add-ons to Termis which make such predictions more viable.

This thesis aims to investigate the differences in diurnal and annual use of districtheating for two kind of heat users with different amount of warm water usage. Thefirst user is a hotel including spa facilities that uses a large amount of warm water, thesecond user is an office building that has a very low usage of warm water. The aim is to develop and validate methods for forecasting district heat use onvarious timescales. The average daily temperature for each month is shown to benormally distributed and average temperatures are therefore suitable for long-termforecasting. It is also shown that there is a clear linear relationship between lowerout-door temperature and higher use of district heating power. The thesis shows thatthe hotel will have a different power signature for their district heating compared tothe office that use a relative low amount of warm water.Short term forecasts, with a horizon of 10 days, are made for both the hotel andoffice building. As a result of the forecasts it is shown that the it is easier todetermine when the peak district heating power outtake will occur for the buildingwith a high amount of domestic hot water usage. However, forecasts for total diurnalheat use are equally accurate for the investigated buildings

Energiaktiviteter i kunskapshus : En detaljerad kartläggning / Energy activities in educational buildingsVaghult, Sara, Adolfsson, Anna January 2019 (has links)
This master thesis includes an activity based energy audit in a combined elementary and upper secondary school in Linköping. The audit was conducted at a detailed level to show the connection between activities in schools and energy performance. The focus has largely been on electricity use and the overall method is based on traditional energy audit. The method however is distinct from traditional methods by the fact that electricity is shown minute by minute over a full school week. The results from the study can be used to better foresee energy use in new or remodeled schools. Also, the results is a valuable basis for prioritizing among energy conservation measures connected to similar schools and buildings. The main results from the energy audit shows that building services (33 %), school lunch (25 %) and recreational activities (15 %) are the most important energy activities. It is also found that education itself only contributes to a limited extent. The most important factors in conducting such an activity based energy audit is that focus shouldn’t been on students and faculty but instead on the indoor climate systems and school kitchen. To continue this research, similar audits should be conducted in more schools and during school breaks.
