Direkcionální asymetrie aktivity svalů horní končetiny a zad při nátahu luku; implikace pro bioarcheologii / Directional asymmetry of upper limb and back muscle activity during bow draw; implications for bioarcheology

Véle, Dominik January 2020 (has links)
This theses explores muscle activity during bow draw. The goal of his study is to evaluate whether muscle activity corresponds with increase in mechanical robusticity of the left humerus found in mezolithic osteological material. Muscle activity is measured by the means of surface electromyography. We measure activity of arm and back muscles. Activity was measured on m. deltoideus, m. infraspinatus, m. biceps brachii, m. triceps brachii and m. latissimus dorsi. Muscle activity was measured on 20 male archers, during bow draw of three wooden long-bows. Results of this study support the idea that change in robusticity of the left humerus could be caused by frequent bow use in post-glacial Europe.

Eletromyografická analyza cervikální flexe v závislosti na pozicích těla / Electromyographic analysis of the cervical flexion during different body positions

Sageshima, Hirofumi January 2020 (has links)
Author: Hirofumi Sageshima Title: Electromyographic analysis of the cervical flexion during different body positions Aim and Purpose: The aim of this study is to find out the muscle activity and the muscle coordination during cervical flexion in 3 different positions - standing, sitting and supine - with electromyographic analysis in young healthy adults. Methods: This study compared superficial cervical flexor muscles activity during conventional cervical flexion to 20 volunteered healthy subjects with surface electromyography (EMG). The activity of 5 paired muscles - sternocleidomastoid, scalenus, suprahyoid, infrahyoid and superior part of trapezius - were measured when they performed 15-time cyclic cervical flexion-extension from neutral to maximum cervical flexion on 3 different positions - sitting, standing and supine - in random order. Results: Significantly higher EMG amplitude was detected from all measured muscles on supine position than sitting and standing (p < 0.05). It was also confirmed that muscle activation pattern was different according to positions; its amplitude on supine reach the peak in the earlier phase of movement, while it was delayed on 2 other positions (p < 0.05). In terms of onset, all cervical flexors activated together in the very beginning. However, on sitting and...

Ultrazvuková korelace středně těžkého až těžkého syndromu karpálního tunelu / Median Nerve Ultrasonography Examination Correlates for the Diagnosis of Moderate to Severe Carpal Tunner Syndrome

Potužník, Pavel January 2021 (has links)
Median Nerve Ultrasonography Examination Correlates for the Diagnosis of Moderate to Severe Carpal Tunnel Syndrome Objective: The aim of the study was to investigate the associations of cross-sectional area (CSA) of the median nerve measured by ultrasonography (US), the median to ulnar nerve ratio (MUR), the median to ulnar nerve difference (MUD) and the ratio of CSA of the median nerve to height squared (MHS) in relation to electrodiagnostic classification of moderate and severe carpal tunnel syndrome (CTS) and thus to identify patients suitable for surgical treatment. Materials and Methods: A prospective study was conducted in patients aged ≥ 18 years who underwent both median and ulnar nerve US and electrodiagnostic studies (EDS). 124 wrists of 62 patients were examined. The patients' characteristics were acquired through a questionnaire. CTS was diagnosed using EDS and classified according to the guidelines of the Czech Republic Association of Electrodiagnostic Medicine. The CSA of the median nerve and of the ulnar nerve were measured at the carpal tunnel inlet, i.e. at the level of the pisiform bone. Results: The median nerve swells at the wrist in CTS. Median nerve CSA at the tunnel inlet ≥ 12mm2 correlates with electrodiagnostic classification of moderate to severe carpal tunnel syndrome. At...

Komparativní kineziologická analýza záběru při veslování na skifu a při jízdě na trenažeru Concept 2 D PM3. / Comparative - kinsiological analysis of the rowing stroke on a single scull and on a rowing machine Concept 2

Zbořilová, Martina January 2017 (has links)
Title: Kinesiological analysis of the rowing stroke on a single scull and on a rowing ergometer Concept 2 comparison Purposes: The purpose of the present study was to determine a specific structure in timing of selected muscles during two movement patterns - rowing on a single scull and rowing on an ergometer Concept 2. Methods: By surface electromyography we recorded muscular activity, synergies and involvement throughout mean cycle of the rowing stroke. Results: The mutual correlations of mean EMG curves of all measured muscles showed, that there were not found any differences in inter-locomotive synchronization of selected muscles. Established values of correlation (r) showed higher level of dynamic balance (performance similarity between both measured activities. Determination of the muscular activity timing considering onsets and cessations, was in the percentual results explication of the movement cycle inter-locomotive different. Conclusion: Results showed a great similarity in synergies organizing the muscular coordination in between both measured physical activities. But timing of the movement was different in the moments of muscular activity onsets during rowing and during ergometer rowing. This may be attributed to the specificity of on-water locomotion. Key words: Rowing, Concept 2,...

Deskripce kvadrupedálního lokomočního diagonálního vzoru při specifické sportovní lokomoci (šplh, chůze, shyb) / Description quadrupedal locomotion diagonal pattern in specific sport activity (rope climbing, walking, pull-up)

Bačáková, Radka January 2013 (has links)
Tittle: Description quadrupedal locomotion diagonal pattern in specific sport activity (rope climbing, walking, pull-up) Aim of work: The aim is to find a description kvadrupedal locomotion diagonal pattern with rope climbing and its motion pattern compared with the motion pattern of walking and pull-up. Methods: This work is descriptively-association study with quantitative and qualitative analysis. The dates were measured by surface electromyography and 2-D video-analysis. Results: Alternating activation of upper extremities (rope climbing without the lower extremities), we proved that the movement supporting lower extremities is quadruped locomotion diagonal pattern. Symmetric work of upper extremities (pull-up) is not in response at lower extremities quadruped locomotion diagonal pattern. Key words: Electromyography (EMG), quadruped, diagonal pattern, rope climbing, pull-up, walking

Kineziologická analýza funkce vybraných svalů horní končetiny po augmentaci ženských prsů / Kinesiolgy analysis of function selected muscles of upper limb after brest augmentation

Víšková, Anna January 2011 (has links)
Summary: Title: Kinesiologic analysis of function of selected upper limb muscles after female breast augmentation Objectives: The aim of this research is to analyze the functionality and scope of involvement of the injured muscles due to plastic surgical augmentation procedure at pre-selected physical activities before and after surgery a few months later (specifically, three months - the time the patient left the recovery) using a noninvasive surface electromyography (EMG). Methods: A Case Study measuring method of noninvasive surface electromyography in combination with the method of temporal phase shifts involved in the activation of muscle movement, accompanied by a support method of integrated EMG. Results: There differences have been observed in the timing of individual muscles measured during performing selected testing exercises before and after completion of the augmentation plastic surgery operatios. Furthermore, the possibility of the loss of muscle strength has been detected by some measured muscles and this has the potential to take over functions of damaged muscles. Key words: plastic surgery, female breast augmentation, surface electromyography, upper limb muscles, musculus pectoralis major

Hodnocení EMG aktivity vybraných svalů v rámci kompenzačních cvičení volejbalistů / Assessment of EMG Activity of Selected Muscles during Compensatory Exercises for Volleyball Players

Foffová, Lenka January 2014 (has links)
Title: Assessment of EMG Activity of Selected Muscles during Compensatory Exercises for Volleyball Players Aim of the thesis: The aim of the thesis is to compare muscle activity of two different types of resistance - the manual resistance of the practitioner and the Thera-Band resistance - during diagonal one flexion and extension patterns PNF for upper extremity. And then consider whether there is a possibility to use the method of PNF in a combination with Thera- Band during volleyball players' compensatory exercise. Methodology: The thesis has a character of a case study. Using surface electromyography on five probands, we recorded the electrical activity of musculus biceps brachii, musculus deltoideus pars posterior, musculus trapezius pars caudalis, and their antagonists. The electrical activity was recorded during diagonal one flexion and extension patterns PNF for upper extremity, using two types of resistance (the manual resistance of the practitioner and the Thera-Band resistance). Results: During diagonal one extension pattern, the activity of musculus trapezius pars caudalis and musculus deltoideus pars posterior is comparable with the manual resistance of the practitioner and the Thera-Band resistance. Results indicated that m. deltoideus pars posterior and m. trapezius pars caudalis...
