La tesi presenta els resultats de coneixement de català i castellà de 515 alumnes estrangers escolaritzats a Catalunya al finalitzar sisè de primària durant el curs 2006/07. En concret, analitza la incidència d'algunes variables en el seu coneixement lingüístic (el temps d'estada, la llengua inicial, l'escolaritat prèvia, el nivell educatiu familiar, el context sociolingüístic del centre, la concentració d'alumnat estranger per aula, els usos de les diferents llengües a l'entorn social, escolar i familiar, entre altres) i també estudia les relacions d'interdependència lingüística (Cummins, 1979) que es produeixen entre les llengües que aquest alumnat aprèn des de l'escola. Les proves utilitzades avaluen diferents habilitats relacionades amb el coneixement de llengua oral i escrita de català i castellà. El tractament que es fa de les dades és estadístic. Les conclusions apunten alguns dels elements que cal considerar pel tractament educatiu i lingüístic de la infància i l'adolescència estrangera escolaritzada a Catalunya. / This study presents the proficiency levels in Catalan and Spanish attained by 6th grade immigrant students in Catalonia during the year 2006-07. In particular, analyzes the effects of some variables in their linguistic knowledge (length of residence, first language, previous schooling, parents' educational level, sociolinguistic context, number of immigrant students per classroom, uses of different languages in home, school and the social context, among others). It also investigates the linguistic interdependence relations (Cummins, 1979) between Catalan and Spanish, the languages that immigrant pupils have to learn at school. Linguistic proficiency is measured by specific tests and evaluates a great range of oral and written skills in both languages. Statistic treatment of data have been used. Conclusions point out the complex interaction between factors in the process of learning new languages from school and outline some implications for the educational and linguistic policies related to immigrant students in Catalonia.

La tesi doctoral "Les accions de l'art. 1843 i la seva relació amb l'art. 1852 del Codi civil" analitza les accions que corresponen al fiador abans del pagament davant al deutor. S'examina, en primer lloc, els antecedents històrics de les accions contingudes en l'art. 1843 Cc; també com és regulada la qüestió pel Dret comparat. En segon lloc, s'estudia la relació existent entre l'art. 1843 i 1852 Cc, en el sentit de resoldre si és preceptiu l'exercici de les accions de rellevament de la fiança per a poder oposar les accions protectores de la subrogació. Les conclusions bàsiques de la tesi es dirigeixen a què no sembla defensable la commixtió entre l'art. 1843 i 1852 Cc. Així mateix, es proposen una sèrie de mesures que pot utilitzar el fiador a l'empara de la nova Llei Concursal i que el concepte d'insolvència que sembla acollir l'art. 1843 Cc és el corresponent al perjudici del dret de crèdit. / La tesis doctoral "Las acciones del art. 1843 y su relación con el art. 1852 del Código civil" analiza las acciones que corresponden al fiador antes del pago frente al deudor.Se examina, en primer lugar, los antecedentes históricos de las acciones contenidas en el art. 1843 Cc; también como es regulada la cuestión por el Derecho comparado. En segundo lugar, se estudia la relación existente entre el art. 1843 y 1852 Cc, en el sentido de discernir si es preceptivo el ejercicio de las acciones de relevación de la fianza para poder oponer las acciones protectoras de la subrogación.Las conclusiones básicas de la tesis apuntan a que no parece defendible la conmixtión entre el art. 1843 y 1852 Cc. Asimismo, se proponen una serie de medidas que puede utilizar el fiador al amparo de la nueva Ley Concursal y que el concepto de insolvencia que parece acoger el art. 1843 Cc es el correspondiente al perjuicio del derecho de crédito. / The doctoral thesis "The actions of art. 1843 and its relation to art. 1852 Civil Code "examines the actions of the guarantors before payment against the debtor. The tesis examines, first, the historical background of actions contained in art. 1843 cc, as well as the matter is regulated by the comparative law. Secondly, it studies the relationship between art. 1843 and 1852 cc, and if necessary the exercise of the shares the relief of the bail to exercising the protective actions of the subrogación. The basic conclusions of the thesis suggests that it does not seem defensible conmixtión between the art. 1843 and 1852 of the Civil Code. It also proposes a series of measures that can use the guarantor under the new Bankruptcy Act and that the concept of insolvency seems that hosting the art. 1843 cc is the corresponding prejudice to the right of credit.

La tesi vol respondre quatre preguntes: Quina concepció d'educació intercultural ens cal a la Catalunya del segle XXI? Com ha fet front el sistema educatiu de Catalunya a l'arribada d'alumnes d'origen estranger? Quins canvis haurem de propiciar en el currículum escolar per tal de fer una educació més científica i més justa? Quina ha de ser la formació que hem d'oferir al professorat de l'educació bàsica per garantir una educació intercultural?L'educació intercultural que es propugna en aquesta tesi és la que es proposa treballar perquè tots els alumnes aprenguin a viure en societats obertes i plurals. Dins de l'educació intercultural que es proposa, s'hi plantegen tres èmfasis diferents: el que posa l'accent en els aspectes ètics, en els aspectes didàctics i en els culturals o curriculars. I pel que fa a la formació del professorat, es diu que un dels primers objectius ha de ser la revisió dels propis coneixements i actituds. / The thesis wants to reply four questions. Which conception of intercultural education, do Catalonia need in the 21st century? How has the educational system of Catalonia faced the arrival of foreign origin pupils? What kinds of changes will have to propitiate in the school curriculum in order to make a more scientific and fairer education? Which has to be the training that we have to offer to the teaching staff of the basic education to guarantee an intercultural education?The intercultural education that is advocated in this thesis is that which it proposes to work so that all pupils learn to life in open and plural societies. In the intercultural education that is proposed there are three different emphases; the one that puts the accent on the ethical aspects, in the didactic aspects and in the cultural or curricular ones. And regarding the formation of the teachers, it is said that one of the first objective has to be the revision of the knowledge themselves and actitudes.
