in English language: The thesis deals with the Institute of Citizenship of the European Union. It follows the first of its origins, the institutional framework and the definition of its content to then focus on the contemporary problems faced by this institution in its application and the use of this specific type of citizenship as one of the possible solutions to the problematic legal status of EU citizens and citizens of the United Kingdom after Brexit. The author puts forward suggestions for addressing the different groups of people whose position changes significantly after Brexit, especially with regard to their place of residence, nationality and whether or not they will still be citizens of a Member State of the European Union after Brexit or not. The author presents possible solutions to the problems that such a state of uncertainty brings with references to case law, current professional literature, and also takes into account the course of Brexit bargaining. He also submits proposals for a new definition of EU citizenship and its possible use to protect the rights of British citizens on the territory of EU Member States after Brexit, but also for Union citizens who are in the same time living, working or studying in Great Britain. Práce mapuje vývoj evropského patentového systému v návaznosti na celosvětový systém patentové ochrany. Zabývá se Evropským patentovým systémem, který je kromě národních právních řádů tvořen Evropskou patentovou úmluvou a zamýšleným komunitárním patentem. Dále se věnuje aktuálním problémům se zaváděním patentu Společenství a jeho budoucností, tedy otázkou zda vůbec a v jaké podobě bude zaveden..

Práce reflektuje proces rozšíření Evropské unie o státy střední a východní Evropy z pohledu Rakouska a pojednává o roli Rakouska v tomto procesu. Nejprve jsou zmapovány příležitosti a rizika pátého rozšíření Evropské unie v roce 2004 z pohledu Rakouska a poté je analyzován průběh rakouské debaty o pátém rozšíření Evropské unie. Ve výkladu jsou analyzovány role, stanoviska a souhry nejvýznačnějších aktérů rakouského politického systému, a to hlavních politických stran, vybraných sociálních partnerů a veřejného mínění. Práce posléze nalézá odpověď na otázku, zda Rakousko bylo ?upřímným obhájcem? nebo ?brzdou? východního rozšíření Evropské unie. V neposlední řadě je analyzováno rakouské úsilí o užší spolupráci se sousedními středoevropskými státy po rozšíření Evropské unie v roce 2004.

V souvislosti se vstupem České republiky do Evropské unie byla přijata společná zemědělská politika EU (CAP). Cílem diplomové práce je zhodnotit vlivy spojené s implementací CAP na agrární sektor ČR. První část práce pojednává o obecné charakteristice systému CAP s důrazem na jeho historický vývoj. Druhá kapitola je zaměřena na analýzu agrárního sektoru České republiky po vstupu do Evropské unie a srovnání s obdobím před vstupem, důraz je kladen především na dotační politiku. Zkoumáno je naplnění předvstupních očekávaných přínosů a rizik pramenících ze zavedení CAP. Závěrečná část kapitoly pojednává o možném vývoji agrárního sektoru ČR do budoucnosti.

Práce popisuje a porovnává přístupy vybraných nových členských států Evropské unie (Česká republika, Slovenská republika, Bulharsko, Rumunsko) v oblasti čerpání fondů EU na životní prostředí, upozorňuje na odlišnosti, zdůrazňuje opakující se chyby a jak je možné se jich vyvarovat. Práce dále popisuje praktické problémy, které se mohou vyskytnout při přípravě strategických dokumentů, jednání s Evropskou komisí, se žadateli, vyhodnocování žádostí a realizaci projektů. Dále upozorňuje na příležitosti podnikatelských subjektů v ČR v oblasti ochrany životního prostředí a načrtává rovněž možný vývoj čerpání evropských dotací v nejbližších letech.

Práce se zaměřuje na analýzu možnosti práce a studia v zemích Evropské unie z pohledu občana České republiky. Poskytuje obecný návod pro všechny uchazeče o zaměstnání v jiných členských zemích Unie s důrazem na popis všech nezbytných kroků a úkonů, kterým musí občané věnovat dostatečnou pozornost a snahu upozornit na možná rizika a nebezpečí. Získané poznatky jsou představeny na příkladu dvou zvolených zemí ? Rakouska a Portugalska.

This dissertation starts from the observation that expectations and perceptions of non-members of the EU are usually neglected in the study of EU's enlargement process. In order to better understand the sources of pro-integration (or anti-integration) foreign policies of the neighboring states, I employ the conceptual apparatus of "role theory". This work utilities the concept of "national role conception", defined as domestically shared views and understandings regarding the proper role and purpose of one's own state as a social collectivity in the international arena. On the cases of Russia and Turkey, I show how historically constituted domestically shared ideas about a role, function (or mission) of a particular state within wider international (European) environment inform their respective policies towards contemporary EU. For the Turkish elite's understandings of the proper role of Turkey within broader international environment is typical the dominance of kemalist nationalist discourse of modernization. Modernization and the quest for the status of respected European power form the core of Turkish identity. In light of this perceptions, the EU membership fits into the kemalist discourse as an accomplishment of the historical mission of attaining the standards of contemporary civilization. On the other side, the discourse of Russian elites is embedded predominantly in universalist messianic discourse, which is often spiced with realist and geopolitical concepts. To sum up, if we want to understand why Russia does not even think about the possibility of entering the EU, we have to take into account the burden of universalist tasks which Russia feels obliged to cary in the name of History or God. Moreover, Russia feels the obligation to protect (both from external threats and internal decay) Europe itself. Entrance into the EU would, quite logically, jeopardize the fulfillment of this historical tasks.

This diploma thesis studies culture as a potential factor of a town development. The effects of the culture and its action of a town development are described on illustration of impacts of the project European Capital of Culture. There is foreshadowed how this project affects an economic situation, as is employment, various economic indicators, a town budget or possibilities of a draw from external financing arrangements. Last but not least there are mentioned effects which the culture has in a sphere of social areas, a competitive advantage, or a landscape planning.

The diploma thesis concerns the use of funds of the European Union (European Social Fund, Cohesion Fund, European Regional Development Fund), especially in terms of the cross-border cooperation of the Slovak and the Czech Republic. The main goal is to investigate where these European funds are allocated, which areas are preferred to be supported in these countries by the financial assistance of the EU. To discover exact fields that need this kind of supply, it was essential to study basic strategic documents of both countries and urban patterns of the cross-border territory. The first chapter describes the structural and regional policy of the EU as a whole, gives examples of three main funds and their performance in the Czech and Slovak Republic. The second part deals with all the operational programs of both countries in connection with the three main objectives of the EU and previously remarked funds. It records the most serious economic problems and suggestions for solutions in both states as well. The third part is dedicated to dominant characteristics of the cross-border region, it describes The Program of Cross-Border Cooperation Slovak Republic-Czech Republic in the former period 2004 -- 2006 and particularly offers a detailed analysis of this program in current period. The last chapter gives instructions how to elaborate projects and it specifies all the steps needed to implementation of the projects. The end refers two examples of real projects put in practice in the cross-border region.

The aim of the thesis is to analyze the current state of co-operatives in the Czech Republic and the role of co-operative enterprise in the market economy. This work describes the position of co-operatives in selected EU countries, the world and their influence in selected economies. It also describes the specifics of the cooperative enterprise and its possible prospects, especially in the social economy. The practical part outlines the status of the European co-operative (SCE), its legal framework and it presents a model for the establishment of a new European co-operative (SCE) based in the Czech Republic.
