Byrd, Jonathan 01 May 2020 (has links)
The artist discusses the work in Silly Trip Wires, 2020 his Master of Fine Arts exhibition. The exhibition includes an installation, Silly Trips Wires, and documentation of a smaller site-specific version of the work. The Artist discusses the process of transition from military to civilian, and the potential effects that mental trauma from combat deployments can have on this process. This is tied to an analysis of how communicating the experience of veterans to civilians, through artwork, functions to bring about understanding.

DREAMING REALITY

Schoolcraft, Ashley Nicole 01 December 2019 (has links)
My work has always been about subjects I am very passionate about and I use them in a way to relate to others by creating a message. For my thesis, I delve deeper into my own life experience to create a piece more personal to me yet relatable to all. I am using creative storytelling and symbolism to create a narrative using not only the lens of a camera but also 3-D animation. “Dreaming Reality” is a statement of female empowerment and independence. Through this story, I hope to bring to light that young women can overcome their insecurities and become independent, driven, successful, and confident. Through the use of the dream process to overview life experiences, all audience members, not only women, can enjoy and connect with the story, as well as feel empowered to create their own life story through their creative lens.

ini / within

wennmyr, hugo leonardo alexander January 2014 (has links)
Preporsition for bachelor thesis project, working from the inside and out. Emphasising spatial quality and experience, More or less ignoring form and program. I’ve had issues with these aspects in earlier project, the form or the program takes alot of place in the project. I haven’t tried this approach before, it’s an attractive thought to allow the project take a form of it’s own, enclosing those spaces i create. The initial concept was to place the pools on the ground (not digging them into the ground) making them volumes that divide and define spaces. Also shifting the interaction between those in the water and those walking alongside the edges. The ceiling should mirror the spaces created by the pool. sinking down over some areas and opening up above others. My process is usually exploratory, I find something i can’t undestand or something where i can’t image the outcome. I play with this until patterns emerge or i feel i can control it. In that stage the inspiration vains. It’s magical to experiencing new things and constantly learning. When i come to that state the project tends to generate itself. During this thesis project I want to define my own process. I want to put it into words in order to understand it myself, but also in order to communicate it to others. Map it all out and hopefully find what makes a project selfgenerating. Filter everything and find the essence of what i’ve learned from my education.

Barns upplevelser av att leva med synnedsättning

Andersson, Sabine, Nyhlén, Mari January 2016 (has links)
Children with disabilities experience more problems and difficulties with their health and decreased quality-of-life conditions than other children. An integrative litteraturestudy was used to describe the experiences of children with visual impairment and their everyday-life. This study includes an anlysis of 13 articles. The children described scenarios in which social settings were avoided due to problems or concerns that may arise involving the visual impairment. Many of the children with visual impairment and their families attended leisure services that were arranged by different childrens organisations. The children described both positive and negative experiences when meeting with their caregivers. Some of the children described a frustration of having to explain their medcial and health condition to caregivers who were not familiarwith their medical and personal history. A recurring theme in several studies was physical activity and school and how self-esteem and confidence of the children often depended on opportunities to participate in these subjects. Children experienced disappointments and frustrations over the stigmatisation that visual impairment involved. The study encompasses a topic that is relatively unexplored and in need of further research to provide greater understanding. Research that focuses on evaluating the well being of children and youth living with vision loss is sparingly both in Sweden and abroad. By summarizing the existing research, increased knowledge could lead to a more individualized nursing care for these children.

Participants in extreme sports have usually been studied from a risk perspective. The present study seeks to move away from this preconception and aims to study the emotional subjective experience. A qualitative methodology with phenomenological-hermeneutic design was used taking as a tool conversational systems. The informants were 8 extreme athletes belonging to the same group. Extreme sports included were: Mountain climbing, rappelling, bungee jumping, and mountaineering. Kvinnors upplevelse av att leva med endometrios : en litteraturöversikt / Women´s experience of living with endometriosis : a literature review

Pimentel, Mariana, Vesterberg Lundin, Anne January 2021 (has links)

Sjuksköterskors erfarenheter av att vårda patienter som har insjuknat i stroke : En litteraturstudie / Nurses' experiences of caring for patients who have had a stroke : a literature study

Jansson, Antigona, Wahlberg, Sara January 2021 (has links)
Background: Stroke is a common disease in Sweden and between 25 000–30 000 people fall ill every year. A stroke causes oxygen deficiency and can lead to lifelong disabilities for the patient. Multidisciplinary teams work together where the nurse plays an important role for the care and the process of recovery. Aim: Highlight nurses' experiences of caring for patients who have had a stroke. Method: The design of the study is a literature study with a qualitative approach. The study is based on ten articles and was analyzed using Friberg’s five-step analysis. Results: Two themes and six subthemes emerged. Nurses felt that their care was important for the patient's recovery but wanted further specialized training. Multidisciplinary collaboration was perceived as important both for the development of knowledge and the patient's care. Nurses highlighted relatives' participation in patient care. However, there were daily challenges of, among other things, time pressure and understaffing. Conclusion: The study showed that nurses wish to provide good care for their patients and that their care was important. However, they experience daily challenges. Through organizational changes such as increased staff density and continuing education, the role of the nurse can be strengthened and lead to improved patient care.

Genderové aspekty českého skautingu. Proč chodí holky do skauta? / Gender aspects of Czech Scouting. Why would girls join Scouting?

Žárská, Magdaléna January 2011 (has links)
This thesis presents data gained from qualitative research that took place in Prague, Czech Republic in 2009. Based on semi-structured interviews with kids from Scout Groups it analyzes gender aspects of Czech Scouting. In my thesis, I introduce a short history of the Scout Movement in the world, as well as in the Czech Republic with a specific interest in the formation of the Girl Scouting. My assumption is that Czech scouting offers special environment for gender sensitive education without realizing the great potential. I suggest that the absence of coeducation in the scout units is the key element in gender sensitive education with the opportunity for the children to try freely whatever they wish for without being pressurized by the social prejudices about their gender which I try to verify through the experiences of the children.
