<p>Abstract</p><p>When I was a child my mother and I wrote a lot of poems, but in school we didn´t write poems at all. As a teacher I want to show the children the joy and happiness of writing poems, stories and fairy tales.</p><p>The purpose of this report was to investigate the work with poetry and creative writing in my class and how the pupils experienced their own work/writing. I began with asking the pupils in my class a few and simple questions about poetry, then we made a diffrent kinds of poetry writing and a finally I repeated the interviews with the children. The poetry writing took place during six weeks under the spring semester.</p><p>I found that as a teacher it is possible to work with creative writing and poetry in diffrent ways. The pupils enjoyed the writing and their opinions were that they had increased their skills in rhyming, writing and spelling, that they had learnt new words and to use their fantasy and that they had learnt a great deal of how to cooperate.</p><p>Keywords</p><p>Creative writing, fantasy, poems.</p>

Gotik i Mästaren och Margarita

Uppsatsen undersöker huruvida det finns gotik i Bulgakovs Mästaren och Margarita. Eftersom jag inte vill placera in romanen i den gotiska genren tas även problematiken med genreindelning upp. I analysen tas händelser från boken upp och prövas mot olika teoretikers definitioner av gotik som litterär genre. Där framgår det att det finns en mängd gotiska inslag men att mycket av det beror på vilken teoretiker man väljer att följa och hur man som läsare tolkar de olika händelserna. Det framkommer även att det finns problem med att sätta in en roman i endast en genre och därför väljer jag att inte kategorisera romanen som gotisk utan endast kalla händelserna för gotiska inslag.

Syftet med detta arbete är att undersöka om man med utgångspunkt i Steampunk-genren inom datorspel, kan göra en implementation av stereotypa High fantasy-element och hur det kommer att uppfattas av Steampunk-entusiaster. Kommer de överhuvudtaget att märka skillnaden och om så är fallet, hur pass stor inverkan tycker de att implementationen har? För att undersöka detta så skapades två karaktärskoncept, en man och en kvinna. Dessa karaktärer utrustades sedan med fyra uppsättningar karaktäristiska kläder och föremål från Steampunk-genren. Sedan lade jag till två stereotypa detaljer från High fantasyn på varje karaktär. Dessa koncept presenterades sedan för ett antal informanter som var insatta i ämnet Steampunk, i form av semistrukturerade intervjuer.

Representations of Gender in Fantasy Miniature Wargames

In this essay I will investigate the representations of gender in the unexplored field of fantasy miniature wargames. Focusing on a few publications by the largest producers of these games, namely Games Workshop, Privateer Press and Wyrd Miniatures, I intend to shed light on the views of gender that permeate their productions. Drawing parallels to research conducted on gender in the field of video games, I intend to investigate their similarities to the representations that exist in the field of fantasy miniature wargames. Through these links I will investigate areas such as the literary representation of gender, the visual representation of gender in the miniatures and images produced, and also the simulations and manifestations of gender in the rules of the games. These representations have the power to shape our perception of the world around us, especially as some of these games' target audience are young adults. Identifying these messages is important for further studies in the field and will be a first step to understanding how the miniature wargame can affect our behaviors and attitudes.

More than escapism : environmentalism and feminism in the young adult fantasy novels of Tamora Pierce

Fantasy literature is often dismissed as inferior work, whose primary purpose is to provide an escapist text for its readers. The purpose of this project is twofold: to show that fantasy actively engages social issues and to investigate how this engagement occurs, using the texts of young adult fantasy writer Tamora Pierce. Pierces works demonstrate how conventions of fantasy can be used and broken in order to create new perspectives on modern concerns. My study begins with an examination of fantasy literature and research, with emphases on J. R. R. Tolkien and Tzvetan Todrov. From there, I move on to discuss at length the three social issues most prevalent in Pierces work: environmentalism, feminism, and didacticism. In terms of environmentalism, animals are elevated above modern status, alien species create analogies to human affairs, and magic becomes a metaphor for responsible management and understanding of natural forces. Pierces treatment of feminism, through the portrayals of young female protagonists, has been challenged by critics for perpetuating the male-dominated system. However, a detailed study demonstrates a variety of different reactions and approaches to feminism that cannot be dismissed so easily. Both the environmentalism and the feminism in these novels suggest a desire on Pierces part to impart a didactic message to her young adult audience. While this message may not always be one that Pierce appears to intend, her nuanced approach to the often oversimplified fantasy binary of good and evil creates a worldview more compatible to that of her readers. Through Pierce and her work, fantasy is more than just escape- it fosters revitalization and reconsideration of the modern world.
