• The Global ETD Search service is a free service for researchers to find electronic theses and dissertations. This service is provided by the Networked Digital Library of Theses and Dissertations.
Our metadata is collected from universities around the world. If you manage a university/consortium/country archive and want to be added, details can be found on the NDLTD website.

Digitala objekt i neutralt format

Karlsson, Stina, Andersson, Nina January 2007 (has links)

Today there are many different Cad-applications on the market for engineers. Because of big building projects it has become more and more important to work with the same application or to have access to a neutral file type to be able to transfer files between different ones.

This report studies the single objects and how they react when transferring them between ADT and ArchiCAD via the neutral type IFC. We have also been looking at problems during the transfer between and if there are some connections between these problems. Afterwards we created a neutral object model of a small country house to see if the objects appeared different. The result shows no differences.

But looking at the problems that appeared during the transmissions they felt small and no logical.

Today it is not possible to save in a neutral type without facing small problems. But with small corrections it would become possible to use IFC without any difficulties. If we get IFC to work properly it would save a lot of time, effort and the possibility to store your projects for the future.

Roskvist, Filip, Roskvist, Anton January 2012 (has links)
This report concerns the subject of file transfer. The focal point of the report is to study the effect that the MTU has on the speed of file transfers based on the protocol used and the size of the transferred files. During the course of the work, several experiments have been performed in order to determine this, as well as to find which protocol gives the overall best result based on the circumstances of the file transfers. Various file transfer protocols, file distribution protocols, MTUs and file sizes have been tested in order to find what results in the best file transfer speed over an Ethernet based network. The results show that a high MTU has the best performance when transferring large files, while a standard MTU gives better results for transferring very small files.

Nensén, Mattias, Hedlund, Henrik January 2015 (has links)
In a world where the demand for flexibility, security, and hardware optimization are key factors when it comes to implementing a corporate IT environment Virtual Desktop solutions a gaining more and more ground. With these environments there are also issues when it comes to user experience if the network in question is unable to fulfill the specifications that such an environment requires. We have looked at the implications some network variables might have for a VDI solution. To shed a light on these issues we have conducted two tests in an VDI environment. The first test consisted of measuring the latency at which the desktop on the client was rendered from the virtualization server at different network sizes. The second test was to measure the same latency at different bandwidth loads on the line between the client and the Virtualization Host. As we realised that the key factor was the bandwidth load, we made a test to measure the way a client could influence that bandwidth. We saw that by transferring data to the desktop (i.e. the Virtualization Host) one user could personally take up the whole bandwidth and leave noting for the VDI traffic, rendering it useless. This was solved by implementing Quality of Service in the form of Traffic policing, thus restricting the amount of bandwidth the user could use for file transfers.
