Knytlová, Magdalena January 2017 (has links)
The Diploma Thesis deals with the marketing activities of the Garden Food Festival Olomouc. The objective of the thesis is to design specific marketing activities for the forthcoming year of this festival on the basis of the comparison with the foreign festival and the festival´s marketing, especially the marketing mix and communication. The theoretical part is dedicated to the history and significance of food festivals in the Czech Republic; furthermore, it introduces the areas of the marketing of services where the marketing mix and communication play a leading role. The subsequent practical part presents the comparison of a domestic food festival with a foreign one. To fulfil the objectives of the thesis, analysis of the marketing mix and communication as well as SWOT analysis is selected. The conclusions drawn are supported by a questionnaire survey about the awareness of the festival and its marketing. On the basis of the analyses performed and the data collection in the questionnaire survey, the concluding part of the thesis proposes specific features that the food festival could include in its marketing activities in the future.

Heritagization of Food. : The Case of Qeshm Island, Iran.

Tajik, Yeganeh January 2022 (has links)
The heritagisation of food reveals the underlying processes by which various actors articulate a particular foodstuff as a heritage in an attempt at pursuing differing aims. Food heritage evokes images, memories, and pride, or motivates habitual consumption, and it can become a lifestyle or even a source of income. Seafood has been reconceptualized as a heritage cuisine in Qeshm Island, Iran. This qualitative case study seeks to explore how the process of food heritagization is carried out by local and external actors in this region. Drawing on the interpretivist paradigm, data was gathered through in-depth semi-structured interviews, and document analysis of literature reviews, books, magazines, and news. Inspired by the theory of food heritagization by Bessiere (2013), data was analyzed through thematic analysis. Findings demonstrated that that place attachment greatly influenced the motivations and aspirations of local community for the participation in the heritagization of local food and also development of tourism development. The reported findings are expected to contribute to the literature on food culture, specifically heritage food.

E-commerce opportunities for the Ficksburg Cherry Festival (2012)

Van Lille, Adele 08 May 2014 (has links)
A website with a good e-commerce design will positively influence a customer’s attitude, strengthen the trust of the customers towards the organisation, increase the satisfaction of the customer, draw consumers, and bring forth purchases/repeat purchases from them. The purpose of this study was to determine viable e-commerce opportunities for the Ficksburg Cherry Festival website. The study endeavoured to ascertain how the Ficksburg Cherry Festival could improve its website by identifying e-commerce opportunities for the Ficksburg Cherry Festival website. In this study a non-random self-administered survey approach was used where attendees were intercepted at the venue of the Ficksburg Cherry Festival and the exhibitors in their stalls. The existing Ficksburg Cherry Festival website was analysed for e-commerce features that are present and opportunities for further implementation of e-commerce features were identified with help from the attendees and exhibitors. The findings of this study presented a demographic profile and attendance characteristics of both the attendees and exhibitors, which the management team of the Ficksburg Cherry Festival can use to better market the festival using traditional and online communication for both attendees and exhibitors. The recommendations will assist the management of the festival to improve the website and to progress from a straightforward information-only website to a fully-developed e-commerce site, with positive effects for all the stakeholders. Similar South African festivals could find the research findings and recommendations of value for their own website development as well. / Business Management / M. Com. (Business Management)
