Due to the social uncertainties caused by Taiwan¡¦s economic recession and rapid social changes, many people try to seek solace in fortune telling, which they believe can bring them peace of mind. Therefore, how to provide a high quality and high credibility fortune-telling environment lest people should be swindled by ill-intentioned fortune tellers is a public policy and a social responsibility that the government shouldn¡¦t evade. In terms of the great influence of Chinese Numerology on Taiwanese people and its great demand, I suggest in my research paper that an environment suitable for the development of Chinese Numerology be provided in Taiwan society. In this way, the mid-term quality control and long-term academic development of Chinese Numerology can be assured. This thesis aims at exploring the theory and technique of Chinese Numerology, an ancient Chinese science and culture. Through the related courses offered by the technological and vocational education system, internationally top-notch Chinese Numerology professionals and Feng Shui experts can thus be cultivated. Due to the limitation of time, human resources and money, the field of my research paper focuses mainly on the influence Chinese Numerology has exerted on Taiwanese people and what expectations the have had of it. As National Kaohsiung Hospitality College can educate outstanding restaurant and hotel personnel, so can vocational technological universities offering Chinese Numerology courses cultivate excellent experts in this field. By absorbing Chinese and Western traditional cultural ideas, these experts will create Taiwan¡¦s Chinese Numerology industry and make themselves become internationally acclaimed. Questionaires are distributed asking people in Kaohsiung what they think of the implementation of Chinese Numerology in technological and vocational education system. It is hoped that the cultivation of internationally top-notch Chinese Numerology professionals and Feng Shui experts will consolidate Taiwan¡¦s leading status in the field of Chinese Numerology, which will become Taiwan¡¦s unique cultural feature in the future. At the end of my thesis, three suggestions are made. First, for the development of Chinese Numerology, related courses should be incorporated into the curricula of technological and vocational universities. Second, the Chinese Numerology certificate system should be established. Third, academic research centers of Chinese Numerology should be set up to cultivate more high-quality experts in this field.

A Study of factors Influencing Consumers¡¦ Trust in Fortune-Telling Websites Abstract Many people still worry the security problem of shopping on the Internet, although Internet shopping is getting more and more popular. Based on a survey in Asia Pacific region in 2001 by VISA, Taiwanese interviewees have the lowest trust in online shopping. It would seriously impede the development of electronic commerce. However, on the other hand, Fortune-Telling, a very popular activity in Chinese community for thousand of years, has been embedded in almost every hot portal website and become its milk cow. Consumers are willing to not only pay a fee for the service, but also disclose personal information such as birth date, etc. If we can understand more about how consumers¡¦ trust in Fortune Telling website are influenced, it would give some implications for a website to get more trust from its consumers. The purpose of this research is to find factors influencing consumers¡¦ trust in Fortune-Telling websites. This research adopts three major research methods: experiment, interview and grounded theory. Based on literature review and an interview to a professional fortune-teller, a primitive conceptual research framework is developed and an experimental fortune-telling web site is thus established. There are twenty subjects joining the experiment. Most of subjects are interviewed twice, before and after learning the fortune telling results. Then the grounded theory research procedure is applied to the conversations of interviews. Finally, a consumer trust model of the fortune-telling website is established. The model shows that Well-Known, Product, Profession& Integrity, and Content of Website are main factors influencing customers¡¦ trust. 星座命理節目是近年來在台灣新興崛起的一種綜藝型態，尤其在國人對於未來越來越沒有信心與安全感的現今，命理節目的存在，無疑地為國人提供一個簡便預測未來的方法。命理節目在台灣雖已行之有年，但是針對命理節目收視行為所進行的研究卻相當少，本研究運用人口變項及外控傾向、刺激尋求動機等人格特質，試圖描繪出命理節目收視族群的輪廓，並且進一步探討命理節目的收視經驗與算命態度、算命行為之間的關聯性。 本研究使用網路問卷調查方式，經過歷時三週的調查，共有653名網友參與本研究。根據調查結果顯示，命理節目的收視族群以年輕未婚女性居多，職業多為學生、服務業或待業中人士，收入則在10000元以下，並且具有高刺激尋求動機的人格特質，至於外控傾向高低對於命理節目收視經驗並無顯著影響。此外，本研究發現命理節目接觸經驗對於算命態度與算命行為中實際算命次數、算命結果滿意度、未來從事付費算命可能及自認算命結果影響性均有正向的關係，足見命理節目接觸經驗越多對於算命態度與算命行為越有提升的效果。 / Recently，Fortune telling programs are newly developed in Taiwan. Nowadays，people are losing their confidence and sense of security for future. Therefore，fortune telling programs absolutely offer an easy solution for Taiwanese. Though fortune telling programs have been produced in Taiwan for years，the researches on fortune telling programs are rare. The author intends to address the fact of the audience by utilizing demographics and psychological orientation such as locus of control and sensation seeking. Moreover，the relationships among the experience of exposing to fortune telling programs、fortune telling attitude and fortune telling behavior are discussed. There are 653 internet users recruited and invited to complete the internet questionnaire in the period of three weeks. The results from the analysis indicate that the main audience of fortune telling programs are young single women. Students、people who are engaged in service industry and the unemployed occupy higher proportion of the participants，and their monthly income is under NT10000. To conclude，these people have the character of high sensation seeking. The character of external control has no obvious effect to the experience of exposing to fortune telling programs. In addition，the research points out that the experience of exposing to fortune telling programs has positive relationship with fortune telling attitude and fortune telling behavior. Obviously，when the audience have more the experience of exposing to fortune telling programs，there are more positive effects.

This thesis aims to explore the history of blind diviners in Korea, using a review approach toexamine the existing literature in Korean on the topic. Beginning with a discussion of theorieson the origins and practices of blind diviners during the pre-modern period, and then movinginto the drastic changes that occurred during the Japanese colonial period, the thesis ends withan exploration of how the situation has developed for blind diviners in the modern period. Thethesis utilizes four main sources: Chu (2008, 2020), Pak and Chŏng (2019), and Son (2019).With this exploration of the topic, this thesis aims to amend the lack of available literature inEnglish by exploring the phenomenon of blind diviners, especially the disability aspects oftheir existence, utilizing some of the literature available in Korean. / Syftet med denna uppsats är att utforska blinda siares historia i Korea genom en litteraturreview av den befintliga litteraturen på koreanska inom ämnet. Uppsatsen inleder med deblinda siarnas ursprung och arbete under den förmoderna perioden, och övergår sedan till dedrastiska förändringar som inträffade under den Japanska kolonialtiden. Uppsatsen avslutasmed en utforskning av hur situationen har utvecklats för blinda siare under den modernaperioden. Uppsatsen använder fyra huvudkällor: Chu (2008, 2020), Pak och Chŏng (2019)och Son (2019). Med denna utforskning av ämnet syftar denna uppsats till att fylla ut en delav avsaknaden av litteratur på engelska, särskilt de mindre utforskadefunktionsnedsättningsaspekterna av blinda siares existens, genom att använda en del av denlitteratur som finns tillgänglig på koreanska.
