Service Quality - Undersökning av konsumenters uppfattning av kvalitet i ett tjänsteföretags produkter : Kandidatuppsats på uppdrag av företaget Vindsurfing.se

Bakgrund och problematisering: Tjänsteföretag på konkurrensutsatta marknader motiveras att anpassa sina produkter utifrån kundernas efterfrågan där utvärdering och förbättring av en tjänsts kvalitet är ett tillvägagångsätt. Fallföretaget Vindsurfing.se studeras med en problembakgrund baserad på hur företag kan utvärdera kvalitet i sina tjänster och vilka positiva och negativa faktorer i produktionen av tjänsterna som går att identifiera utifrån kundernas uppfattningar. Syfte: Syftet med uppsatsen är att undersöka den av konsumenterna upplevda kvaliteten på de nybörjarkurser som företaget Vindsurfing.se erbjuder. Detta för att identifiera olika faktorer med påverkan på kvaliteten som kan ligga till grund för utredning av hur verksamheten kan utvecklas i framtiden. Teori och modell: Litteraturgenomgång med utgångspunkt i begreppet service quality, dess definition, tillämpningar och mätinstrument. Nyckelmodeller är bl.a. Grönroos (1984) ”Service-Quality Model” och Parasuraman et al., (1985) ”Service-Gap-model”. Genomgången leder till en egen modell föreställande studiens teoretiska ramverk anpassad för fallföretaget. Metod: Elektronisk enkätundersökning av fallföretagets befintliga kunder. Enkätundersökningen är kopplad till ett antal hypoteser formulerade med stöd av litteraturgenomgången. Frågor ställdes om kursupplevelsen och i vilken grad förväntningar motsvarats eller ej. Enkätsvaren ligger senare till grund för en analytisk hypotesprövning som därefter diskuteras genom att ställa resultaten i förhållande till teorin. Resultat och slutsatser: Resultaten presenterar upptäckter om hur olika faktorer med påverkan på tjänsternas kvalitet visat sig bidra på olika sätt till det totala omdömet av kvaliteten. Analys av externa faktorer och demografiska uppgifter från enkätrespondenter leder till slutsatser av dess påverkan. Slutsatserna från undersökningen bidrar till en möjlighet till utvärdering av framtida verksamhets-utformning för fallföretaget och en generaliserande slutdiskussion diskuterar det vetenskapliga bidraget av

No entanto, para isso, é necessário que tais áreas sejam adequadas ao desenvolvimento de suas principais funções: sociais, recreativas, ambientais e pedagógicas. O objetivo principal deste estudo foi o de criar um instrumento de avaliação da qualidade funcional das áreas livres em escolas de ensino fundamental completo, visando verificar se essas áreas atendem as quatro principais funções educativas (sociais, recreativas, ambientais e pedagógicas) que tais áreas devem desempenhar no contexto escolar. O instrumento é composto de questões elaboradas com base na literatura da área e respaldadas por profissionais da educação. Esse instrumento foi aplicado em alunos de quatro escolas Municipais de Ensino Fundamental completo em Bauru-SP, com o fim de identificar a qualidade dessas áreas e ressaltar as principais diferenças nas avaliações de alunos dos anos iniciais e finais. Os resultados obtidos possibilitaram realizar um diagnóstico, que aferiu o nível de atendimento das funções das áreas livres em cada escola pesquisada, de acordo com o ponto de vista dos alunos dos anos iniciais e finais. Assim, foi possível traçar um panorama geral das áreas estudadas e identificar os principais pontos fortes e fracos em cada função avaliada, além de ressaltar questões dentro de cada função que precisam ser revistas, em cada escola, para a melhoria da qualidade destas áreas. Espera-se que esse instrumento, além de auxiliar intervenções físicas e/ou gerenciais das escolas avaliadas, possa ser útil para arquitetos, planejadores e gestores que participam do planejamento das áreas livres escolares. / The free areas of schools, known as school patio, are learning environments, experiences and socialization, and configure themselves as essential spaces in the school context. However, to do this, it is necessary that such areas are suitable for the development of their principal functions: social, recreational, environmental and pedagogy. The main objective of this study was to create an instrument for assessing the functional quality of free areas in elementary schools, aiming to check if these areas meet the four major educational roles (social, recreational, environmental and pedagogical) that such areas should play in the school context. The instrument consists of questions based on the literature of the area and supported by educational professionals. This instrument was applied to students from four Municipal schools of Basic Education in Bauru-SP, with the aim of identifying and highlighting the main differences in assessments of students of early and final years. The results obtained have made it possible to carry out a diagnosis, assessing the level of fulfill of the functions the free areas at each school surveyed, according to the point of view of the students of early and final years. Thus, it was possible to establish an overview of the study areas and identify the main strengths and weaknesses in each function evaluated, as well as highlight items within each function that need to be reformulated in each school and, thus, contribute with subsidies for the improvement of the quality of these areas. It is expected that this instrument, besides helping interventions and/or management of schools evaluated, which is useful for architects, planners and managers who participate in the planning of areas free school.

AvaliaÃÃo da qualidade funcional da carne ovina do estado do Cearà / Evaluation of functional quality of meat sheep from state of CearÃ

Conselho Nacional de Desenvolvimento CientÃfico e TecnolÃgico / A carne ovina à um produto altamente rico em proteÃnas, com baixo teor de gordura e muito valorizado no mercado internacional. PorÃm, vÃrios fatores responsÃveis pela caracterizaÃÃo da qualidade da carne contribuem para a baixa popularidade desse produto no paÃs, tais como operaÃÃes de prà e pÃs-abate mal realizadas, abate de animais velhos, manejo inadequado, tÃcnicas precÃrias de manuseio pÃs-abate, entre outros. Dessa forma, a pesquisa teve por objetivo avaliar a qualidade funcional e sensorial da carne ovina produzida e comercializada no Estado do Cearà a fim de detectar e melhorar as condiÃÃes que afetam a qualidade das carnes. No experimento, utilizou-se 6 animais provenientes de cinco procedÃncias do Estado do Cearà (P1- TauÃ, P2- Sobral, P3- QuixadÃ, P4- Caridade e P5- criatÃrio experimental da UFC), totalizando 30 cordeiros que variaram de seis meses a 1 ano de idade. ApÃs o abate, as carcaÃas permaneceram durante 24 horas em cÃmara fria a 0ÂC. Em seguida, foram divididas longitudinalmente em duas meia-carcaÃas. De cada animal, utilizaram-se os cortes paleta e perna da meia-carcaÃa direita e os dois lombos. As peÃas foram dessossadas e retiradas porÃÃes dos mÃsculos para cada anÃlise. As peÃas musculares foram embaladas em filmes de nylon-polietileno, seladas a vÃcuo e mantidas em congelamento atà a realizaÃÃo das anÃlises de pH, capacidade de retenÃÃo de Ãgua (CRA), perdas de peso por cocÃÃo (PPC), forÃa de cisalhamento (FC), cor medido pelos parÃmetros L*, a*, b*, H* e C*, composiÃÃo centesimal e anÃlise sensorial dos atributos de cor, sabor, maciez, suculÃncia e aceitaÃÃo global. Os valores de pH obtidos nas diferentes procedÃncias apresentaram diferenÃa significativa, sendo que a carne da procedÃncia P3 apresentou maior pH. Com relaÃÃo as propriedades CRA e PPC, houve significÃncia estatÃstica devida tanto aos cortes como Ãs procedÃncias estudadas, sendo que a procedÃncia P5 se destacou com maiores valores para as duas variÃveis. A FC nÃo apresentou significÃncia estatÃstica para as diferentes procedÃncias. No entanto, para as variÃveis da anÃlise de cor, a procedÃncia P5 apresentou valores de L*, a*, b*, H* e C* significativamente maiores que as demais procedÃncias. Com relaÃÃo à composiÃÃo centesimal, apenas o conteÃdo de cinzas na carne nÃo apresentou diferenÃas significativas entre as procedÃncias. Quanto à aceitaÃÃo sensorial, as procedÃncias P5 e P4 se destacaram em todos os atributos analisados (cor, sabor, maciez, suculÃncia e aceitaÃÃo global), ou seja, a criaÃÃo de ovinos em confinamento pode influenciar a aceitaÃÃo do produto pelos consumidores, uma vez que esse tipo de sistema gera animais em melhores condiÃÃes no momento do abate, o que determina a qualidade final da carne. Quanto à atitude de consumo, a procedÃncia P5 apresentou maior aceitaÃÃo e menor rejeiÃÃo, indicando essa como a mais aceita entre os provadores. / Lamb meat is rich in protein, low in fat content and highly valued in the international market. However, several factors responsible for the characterization of the meat quality contribute to a low popularity of this product in the local market. Among them the slaughter operations performed poorly, inadequate management of the animals and poor techniques of post-slaughter handling. Thus, the study aimed to evaluate the functional and sensory quality of lamb produced and marketed in the State of Cearà to detect conditions that affect the quality of the meat. In this experiment, six animals from five different locations of the State of Cearà (P1 - Taua, P2 - Sobral, P3 - QuixadÃ, P4 - Caridade and P5 - UFC) were used, totaling 30 lambs ranging from six months to one year of age. After slaughter, carcasses remained for 24 hours in cold storage at 0ÂC. They were then divided longitudinally into two half-carcasses. From each animal, were used the shoulder and the leg cuts from the right half carcass and the loins from the two half carcasses. The pieces were removed, bonned and the muscles separated for analysis. The muscle pieces were packed in nylon-polyethylene film, vacuum sealed and kept frozen until the realization of the following meat analysis: pH, water holding capacity (WHC), cooking loss (CL), shear force (SF), color, chemical composition and sensory analysis of color, flavor, tenderness, juiciness and overall acceptance. The meat pH values obtained from different locations showed significant differences, with P3 showing higher values than the other meats. Regarding the CRA and PPC analysis, statistical significance was observed for both the type of cut and the location of the animals where P5 showed the highest values for both variables. SF values were not different for the different locations of the animals. However, for the variables of color analysis, the results for P5 showed values for L*, a*, b*, H* and C* significantly higher than those for the other locations. With respect to meat composition, only the ashes were not significantly different among the locations. As for the meat sensory the animals from P5 and P4 performed better than those from the other locations in all the attributes evaluated (color, flavor, tenderness, juiciness and overall acceptance). Raising sheep in confinement may influence product acceptance by consumers, since this type of system produces animals with appropriate condition at slaughter, which influences the final quality of the meat. The attitude of the consumers related to the meat from P5 showed greater acceptance and less rejection of the meat.

To share or not to share : Investigating the potential key qualities of a digital C2B carsharing service

Compared to private car ownership, carsharing has emerged as one of the innovative ways of promoting sustainable and more environmentally friendly transportation. As a service thathas existed for decades, carsharing has evolved significantly, with the introduction of several business and service models to create value for users. Despite the popularity of carsharing, private car ownership continues to grow, even though these cars end up being parked most of the time, contributing to congestion in urban areas. Using an exploratory research approach with the aid of speculative design, this thesis investigated the key qualities of a potential digital carsharing service for private vehicle owners, who could share their vehicles with fleet operators during times when the vehicles are idle. Qualitative, semi-structured interviews of ten private vehicle owners wereconducted to investigate the qualities of the potential digital carsharing service. The potential key qualities were grouped under technical and functional qualities according to Grönroos’ Nordic service quality model. The results indicate the importance of designing services that leverage technical qualities such as reward, accessibility, appearance and safety, and security, and functional qualities such as assurance, flexibility, responsiveness, and personalized.

Needs and problems of fuller figure South African working women with regard to branded apparel

Consumer satisfaction is key for retailers to retain loyal consumers. Retailers use apparel brands as a strategy to differentiate themselves in the market place, to attract potential consumers and to retain loyal consumers. Retailers have discovered the potential of the fuller figure sector as a lucrative market which can assist them to make profits and to increase their sales. The aim of this research is firstly to explore and describe the needs and expectations that the fuller figure South African working women have with branded career wear secondly, how they evaluate branded career wear apparel against the two broad quality dimensions namely functional and aesthetic dimensions and thirdly the problems they experience with the functional and aesthetic quality dimensions of branded career wear. The study also describes how fuller figure South African working women consumers further evaluate the branded apparel during the decision-making process which can ultimately lead to her either accepting or rejecting the branded career wear. This research is descriptive in nature, as an attempt is made to describe and understand how working fuller figure females evaluate branded apparel against certain quality dimensions and make decisions to purchase branded apparel to satisfy their needs. The Sproles and Burns’ (1994:264) decision-making model theoretical underpins the study. A quantitative research style was chosen for this study and the objectives and sub- objectives related to the needs and problems of the quality dimensions of the branded career wear were examined. A self-administered, structured questionnaire was designed to gain demographic information of the sample group, their store preferences, where they get their fashion information from as well as their needs and problems with regard to branded career wear apparel. Purposive sampling and snowball sampling techniques were used to select a sample of working fuller figure females in the Tshwane, South Africa area. The responses to the 150 questionnaires were coded, captured and analysed using descriptive and inferential statistics. The results of this study revealed that most of the respondents ranked the functional quality dimensions higher than the aesthetic quality dimensions. It is clear that most of the fuller figure consumers regard comfort as the most important need, followed by durability (that the material of the branded career wear should be of good quality). The sample group also regarded the emotional aesthetic aspects very important (that the styles are beautiful and make her feel feminine). It is contradictory, that these fuller figure working women experienced major problems with the quality dimensions that they ranked as highly important. The sample group experienced problems with fit at the functional and aesthetic level, although fit is one of the most important factors that consumers use during the evaluation of apparel items. This study makes certain recommendations to apparel retailers, fashion theorists and image consultants how to obtain optimal consumer satisfaction. The South African apparel retailers should take cognisance of the needs and problems of this growing market related to the functional and aesthetic quality dimensions. The study also revealed how age and income play a role regarding the needs and problems this sample group experienced with branded career wear and how this can influence their decision to either accept or reject a brand. <p>The manufacturing industry is currently in a short-term downturn while the competition is increasing. The result of this is that companies must find new ways to bring out their products. Traditional competitive strategies, such as low pricing, is not sufficient today as the customer is inquiring something more than just a good product. Higher demands are presented on an accurate, well functional, communication between customer and companies, as this has become an important strategic factor in achieving long-term profitability.</p><p><p><p>The aim of this independent project was to analyze and evaluate the communication process between a company and its sales companies.</p><p>In order to illustrate this process, a case study was carried out at Alfa Laval, their sales companies and employees at their distribution center in Tumba. In order to see the differences in attitudes between the management, the sales companies and the employees regarding communication and involvement a gap analysis were used.</p><p>The theoretical part of the study considers theories about business mission, communication, involvement, quality and creating value.</p><p>The result showed that a smaller gap exists between the sales companies and the management while a slightly larger one exists between the employees and the management. The internal communication is presently inadequate in the sense that separate opinions exist on whether a one- or two-way communication should be used. This causes the interactive communication, between employees and sales companies, to suffer as well since the employees do not know what to communicate.</p><p>A long-term profitability can only be achieved when the internal and interactive communication is working correctly, something that it presently does not do. The conclusion of this independent project shows that communication must be correctly shaped and that all parties should embrace the degree of involvement in the same way. CARACTERIZACIÓN, TIPIFICACIÓN, SELECCIÓN Y MEJORA GENÉTICA DE VARIEDADES VALENCIANAS DE TOMATE

Tesis por compendio / [ES] El trabajo realizado en la presente tesis pretende contribuir a la puesta en valor de las variedades tradicionales valencianas de tomate. En primer lugar se aborda la caracterización de una colección de 69 entradas de variedades valencianas de tomate de ocho tipos varietales ('De Borseta', 'Cherry', 'Cor¿, 'De Penjar', 'Plana', 'De Pruna', 'Redona' y 'Valenciana') con 64 descriptores convencionales y 38 características del Tomato Analyzer. Se ha puesto de manifiesto que el uso de forma complementaria de la herramienta fenómica del Tomato Analyzer es una nueva estrategia para la caracterización y clasificación de las variedades locales de tomate, así como para la distinción entre tipos varietales relacionados. A pesar del uso generalizado de los descriptores estandarizados de tomate, hay poca información sobre los efectos ambientales sobre los valores de los descriptores y sobre su herencia. La evaluación de 12 entradas de tomate procedentes de siete tipos varietales en tres ambientes diferentes (cultivo convencional aire libre, cultivo ecológico aire libre e invernadero) mediante el uso de 36 descriptores, ha permitido establecer la influencia del sistema de cultivo sobre estos descriptores, encontrándose una amplia gama de variación, y demostrando su utilidad para describir los materiales de tomate, su diversidad y relaciones. Por otra parte, puede ser muy interesante asociar características saludables como un elevado contenido en vitaminas o sustancias antioxidantes beneficiosas para la salud. El análisis de 69 entradas locales valencianas de tomate procedentes de ocho tipos varietales para caracteres como contenido en distintos azúcares, ácidos y antioxidantes puso de manifiesto diferencias significativas entre los tipos varietales ensayados para la mayoría de las características. Los tipos varietales 'Cherry' y 'De Penjar' presentaban mayor materia seca, contenido de sólidos solubles, acidez titulable, índice de sabor, ß-caroteno, ácido ascórbico, fenólicos totales y actividad antioxidante que los otros grupos. Los resultados obtenidos serán útiles para la diferenciación, mejora y selección de variedades locales de tomate con propiedades organolépticas mejoradas. Los estudios de caracterización y tipificación de las variedades tradicionales de tomate son imprescindibles para detectar factores que dificultan su puesta en valor y fomento de la explotación comercial. En este sentido, dentro de esta tesis se han caracterizado 3 poblaciones de tomate 'Valenciana d'El Perelló'. La menor productividad de las selecciones ensayadas en comparación con el control comercial parece ser debida a una concentración de la producción en los 2-3 primeros ramilletes de la planta. En el programa de selección y mejora del tomate 'Valenciana d¿El Perelló' que se ha realizado se dispone de selecciones con una distribución de cuajado mucho más uniforme. Por otra parte, una forma muy interesante de potenciar su cultivo, es obtener variedades resistentes al ToMV, derivándose un conjunto de linajes de este tomate con el gen Tm22 que confiere resistencia al ToMV. En cuanto a la adaptación a las condiciones agroclimáticas locales de las variedades tradicionales, esta característica es fundamental de este tipo de variedades. Así, las plantas de tomate del tipo 'De Penjar', han sido cultivadas tradicionalmente en la región mediterránea. Estos materiales están adaptados a condiciones de campo abierto bajo condiciones de bajo consumo de recursos. Sin embargo, el cultivo bajo invernadero se está expandiendo debido al aumento de su demanda. En primer lloc s'aborda la caracterització d'una col·lecció de 69 entrades de varietats valencianes de tomàquet de vuit tipus varietals ( 'De Borseta', 'Cherry', 'Cor',' De penjar ',' Plana ',' De Pruna ', 'Redona' i 'Valenciana') amb 64 descriptors convencionals i 38 característiques del Tomato Analyzer. S'ha posat de manifest que l'ús de forma complementària de l'eina fenómica del Tomato Analyzer és una nova estratègia per a la caracterització i classificació de les varietats locals de tomàquet, així com per la distinció entre tipus varietals relacionats. Malgrat l'ús generalitzat dels descriptors estandarditzats de tomàquet, hi ha poca informació sobre els efectes ambientals sobre els valors dels descriptors i sobre la seva herència. L'avaluació de 12 entrades de tomàquet procedents de set tipus varietals en tres ambients diferents (cultiu convencional aire lliure, cultiu ecològic aire lliure i hivernacle) mitjançant l'ús de 36 descriptors, ha permès establir la influència del sistema de cultiu sobre aquests descriptors, trobant una àmplia gamma de variació, i demostrant la seva utilitat per descriure els materials de tomàquet, la seva diversitat i relacions. D'altra banda, pot ser molt interessant associar característiques saludables com un elevat contingut en vitamines o substàncies antioxidants beneficioses per a la salut. First, the characterization of a collection of 69 entries of Valencian tomato varieties of eight varietal types ('De Borseta', 'Cherry', 'Cor',' De Penjar ',' Plana ',' De Pruna ', 'Redona' and 'Valenciana') with 64 conventional descriptors and 38 characteristics of the Tomato Analyzer. The analysis of 69 Valencian local tomato entries from eight varietal types for characters as content in different sugars, acids and antioxidants revealed significant differences between the varietal types tested for most of the characteristics. The varietal types 'Cherry' and 'De Penjar' had higher dry matter, content of soluble solids, acidity, flavor index, ß-carotene, ascorbic acid, total phenolic and antioxidant activity than the other groups. Characterization and typification studies of traditional tomato varieties are essential to detect factors that make it difficult to value and promote commercial exploitation. In this sense, within this thesis 3 populations of tomato 'Valenciana d'El Perelló' have been characterized.
