Sabendo que o jornalismo esportivo cumpre uma função importante ao divulgar representações da atleta que servem como base na construção da imagem que o público tem dela, e partindo da idéia que o jornalista mobiliza discursos da sociedade na qual está inserido para produzir seus textos, a questão central deste trabalho é saber que discursos são produzidos na representação da ginasta Daiane dos Santos construída pelo jornalismo esportivo gaúcho. Através da análise das seções de esporte dos jornais Correio do Povo e Zero Hora, nosso objetivo é verificar como o jornalismo esportivo gaúcho articula discursos sobre a identidade regional na representação da atleta. Utilizando conceitos e procedimentos da Análise do Discurso, pretende-se investigar: a) quais elementos são utilizados para construir a representação da ginasta pelos jornais; b) se houve alteração da representação da atleta construída pelos jornais durante o período analisado; c) como a questão das identidades subalternas (étnica, de classe e de gênero) é inserida nos textos; e d) como a distinção nacional/regional é trabalhada nos textos. A análise revela que na representação da ginasta Daiane dos Santos foram construídos discursos, através de marcas como valentia, bravura, heroísmo e laboriosidade, que instauram sentidos de Gaúcho Idealizado, Superioridade Gaúcha e Senso de Justiça. Esses discursos, apesar de fazerem circular sentidos sobre a identidade gaúcha, não reproduziram a totalidade das representações do gauchismo, com todos os estereótipos, preconceitos e silenciamentos existentes nestas. / The gaucho gymnast Daiane dos Santos made history being the first Brazilian woman to win a world title of Artistic Gymnastic, on Floor at the 2003 World Championships in Anaheim (USA). Specifically, it aims to verify, in the CD‟s songs (a) discursive cues pointing to identitary fragments which, although may come from irreducible and even conflicting singularities, converge in the dialogical construction of the typical gaucho subject, (b) how the dialogical construction of the gaucho identity happens in the songs interpreted by Luiz Marenco, seeking to perceive how the already-said is responsively reflected and refracted and (c) what is the influence of this dialogical construction on Rio Grande do Sul typical subject identity formation. This research is based on Bakhtin‟s dialogical theory of discourse (Bakhtin 1998, 2003; Bakhtin/Volochinov, 1995), which has contributed to the reflection concerning enunciation and discourse, including human agents‟ discursive-identitary constitution, and dialogues with the field of cultural studies (Hall, 2000; Silva, 2007), that contribute with reflections regarding the relationships of cultural and identity processes. As for the methodology, five songs of the CD Identity are analyzed which were chosen in accordance with representative recurrent marks of Rio Grande do Sul subjects, in dialogue with each other and all the CD songs. In this process, we describe marks in lyrics and melody utterances that constitute the songs, which ground the ways of representing the typical gaucho subject and consequently her identity construction. As we consider identity formation as directly linked to language, the ways of representing identity manifest themselves by means of discourse, which establishes dialogical relationships with other discourses, in a process of sense construction in which interlocutors have an active participation. In this context, we conclude pointing to the need of rethinking the concepts on the current representation of the typical gaucho subject by taken their identity as something in constant displacement, that is, in constant construction / Considerando a importância da reflexão sobre as diferentes imagens discursivas do gaúcho, este estudo tem o intuito de analisar, sob o ponto de vista dialógico, aspectos da construção discursiva da identidade gaúcha no CD de música nativista intitulado Identidade, de Luiz Marenco, procurando apreender pistas que apontam para a constituição do sujeito sul-rio-grandense. Como objetivos específicos, visa verificar, nas composições musicais do referido disco, (a) pistas discursivas que remetem a facetas identitárias as quais, embora possam advir de singularidades díspares, e até mesmo conflitantes entre si, ajudem na construção dialógica do gaúcho, (b) como se dá a construção dialógica da identidade do sujeito gaúcho nas canções interpretadas por Luiz Marenco, observando como sentidos advindos de um já-dito são responsivamente refletidos e refratados e (c) qual a influência dessa construção dialógica para a formação identitária sul-rio-grandense. Esta pesquisa está baseada na teoria dialógica do discurso (Bakhtin 1998, 2003; Bakhtin/Volochinov, 1995), que tem contribuído para a reflexão acerca dos estudos da enunciação e do discurso, inclusive no que tange à constituição discursivo-identitária do indivíduo, e estabelece interlocução com os estudos culturais (Hall, 2000; Silva, 2007), que contribuem com reflexões a respeito das relações entre processos culturais e identitários. No que se refere à metodologia, são analisadas cinco canções do disco Identidade, escolhidas de acordo com traços recorrentes representativos do sujeito sulino, não deixando de dialogar com as outras canções selecionadas e com o conjunto da obra. Nesse processo, discorre-se sobre pistas nos enunciados de letra e melodia, formadores das canções, que agem no sentido de embasar os modos de representação do gaúcho e, conseqüentemente, sua construção identitária. Para tanto, parte-se do raciocínio de que as formações identitárias estão diretamente relacionadas com a linguagem. Assim, os modos de representação se dão por meio do discurso, o qual estabelece relações dialógicas com discursos outros, remetendo ao processo de construção de sentido em que o interlocutor tem participação ativa. Nesse contexto, conclui-se apontando para um repensar os conceitos sobre a atual representação do gaúcho, considerando sua identidade como algo em constante deslocamento, ou seja, em constante construção
