On that capacity, it analyzes how women are depicted in the journalistic discourse and how such regime of representation is based on a gendered symbolic violence that desqualify them in Brazilian society. The departure point of the analysis is that the ways women are represented in press discourses reveals not only acts but also a less graspable state of violence against them. The work drawns on Analysis of Discourse Theory - mainly the semiolinguistic work of Patrick Charaudeau and on an interdisciplinar analysis of gender, social representations, and violence. The basis for this analysis is newspaper Folha de S. Paulo´s coverage of the 2010 election and the first turn of Brazilian president Dilma Rousseff. The words stereotypes, ethos and metaphors are used as conceptual categories to map and classify Folha´s coverage pertaining gender and symbolic violence. The analysis sugests that the conflict between private and public space informs the ways women are portrayed by the press. Even when ocupying high rank in the social hierarchy for example being the President of Brazil women are depicted in media s discourse through hegemonic stereotypes that associate them to the private sphere (domestic work, mother, wife), and the public sphere (sexual objects). Ultimately, the work argues that symbolic violence against women is a political tool through which media dominant discourse reproduces stereotyped gender relations and reinforces patriarchal domination / Esta pesquisa aborda a relação entre discurso, gênero e violência, procurando mostrar os conflitos e desigualdade social presentes na linguagem. Por essa razão, objetivamos discutir de que modo a mulher política é representada no discurso jornalístico e como essa representação revela a violência simbólica contra a mulher. Tais objetivos foram motivados pela observação de que há uma forma sutil de tratar a mulher no jornal que suscita, além do ato, um estado de violência contra as mulheres. Para alcançar nossos propósitos, fundamentamos nosso trabalho nos estudos da Análise do Discurso, na abordagem semiolinguística de Patrick Charaudeau, em paralelo à discussão interdisciplinar de gênero, de representação social e de violência. Procedemos, em seguida, à análise do corpus, constituído por textos recolhidos do jornal Folha de S. Paulo, no período eleitoral de 2010 e no primeiro ano de mandato presidencial de Dilma Rousseff, a partir das categorias de estereótipo, ethos e metáfora. Nessa investigação, verificamos que a violência baseia-se, principalmente, no conflito entre o espaço privado e o espaço público, em que a herança patriarcal é transferida. A mulher, mesmo ocupando o espaço político de poder, é representada pelas funções sociais que lhe são atribuídas no interior da casa (dona de casa e mãe) e pela imagem de objeto sexual de desejo que lhe é atribuída no exterior da casa (musa). Assim, constatamos que a violência simbólica está presente na forma de representação da mulher pelo discurso jornalístico, por meio da reprodução estereotipada das relações de gênero

O presente trabalho analisa o arcabouço teórico que fundamenta o modelo fálico-edípico freudiano, a fim de refletir em que medida reproduz a divisão sexual e binária, com suas implicações hierarquizantes e assimétricas. Inicialmente, examinamos os pressupostos filosóficos, científicos e políticos que possibilitaram a invenção do modelo da diferença sexual, produzindo lugares específicos para o gênero feminino e masculino. Em seguida, avaliamos as repercussões oriundas do monismo sexual e fálico na reinvenção dos corpos sexuados. E, por fim, nos debruçamos sobre a construção do modelo fálico-edípico, buscando aproximações com o monismo e o dimorfismo sexual, bem como suas imbricações na produção das subjetividades. Para tanto, realizamos uma pesquisa e análise bibliográfica da obra de Freud, bem como da Psicanálise contemporânea a partir de autores que procuram problematizar as implicações da utilização do referencial fálico-edípico como eixo central de subjetivação e de erotização, tais como: Joel Birman, Márcia Arán, Regina Néri e Silvia Nunes. Da mesma forma, estabelecemos um diálogo profícuo com os autores Thomas Laqueur, Michel Foucault e Judith Butler no que concerne à criação das categorias de sexo e gênero. Esperamos que nosso trabalho amplie a discussão e o conhecimento sobre as questões referentes à problemática de sexo e gênero, na contemporaneidade, oferecendo subsídios aos profissionais que lidam direta ou indiretamente com o tema / The present paper analyses the theoretical framework that subsidizes the phallic-oedipal Freudian model in order to consider to what extent it reproduces sexual and binary divisions, with its hierarchical and asymmetrical implications. Initially, we have examined philosophical, scientific and political assumptions that permitted the invention of the sexual difference model, producing specific roles to feminine and masculine genders. Afterwards, we have evaluated repercussions from the sexual and phallic monism on the reinvention of sexed bodies. And, finally, we have focused on the construction of the phallic-oedipal model, searching for approximations with monism and sexual dimorphism, as well as its imbrications on subjectivities production. To do so, we have carried out a bibliographical research and analysis of Freudian work and contemporary psychoanalysis by authors who seek to question the implications of the phallicoedipal model utilization as a central axis for subjectivity and eroticization, such as Joel Birman, Márcia Arán, Regina Néri and Silvia Nunes. In the same way, we have established a productive dialogue with authors such as Thomas Laqueur, Michel Foucault and Judith Butler with regards to the creation of sex and gender categories. We expect our work to broaden discussion and knowledge on questions related to sex and gender problematic in contemporaneity, offering support to professionals who deal with those themes directly or indirectly

Esta pesquisa problematiza a categoria da transexualidade, em sua dimensão psicopatológica, e questiona seu caráter normativo, que pretende alinhar sexo, gênero, prática sexual e desejo, concernente às identidades sexuais. Ao desenvolvê-la, são discutidas as implicações dos determinismos anatomosexual e de gênero, no processo de subjetivação das transexuais; também se reflete quanto à pertinência do diagnóstico psiquiátrico de Transtorno de Identidade de Gênero, para a transexualidade; analisam-se concepções psicanalíticas que sustentam o diagnóstico de psicose para a transexualidade; investiga-se a possibilidade da intervenção cirúrgica de transgenitalização subverter a ordem binária sexo/gênero e, finalmente, consideram-se as implicações da mudança de sexo, nas subjetividades das transexuais. Os dados da pesquisa foram coletados e analisados, segundo a práxis do método qualitativo, utilizando-se a entrevista semiestruturada como principal instrumento de trabalho de campo. Os participantes da pesquisa são transexuais de homem para mulher, que já haviam realizado a cirurgia de transgenitalização ou que ainda aguardavam a oportunidade de fazê-la. A coleta de dados foi realizada no Serviço de Ginecologia do Hospital das Clínicas da Universidade Federal de Pernambuco UFPE. Seus resultados foram discutidos à luz das contribuições teóricas de Michel Foucault e Judith Butler, no campo filosófico, e de Robert Stoller, Catherine Millot, Márcia Arán, Jurandir Costa e outros autores contemporâneos, no campo psicanalítico. Os resultados da pesquisa demonstram que, ao desconstruir as concepções normativas inerentes ao sistema binário sexo-gênero, as pessoas transexuais ultrapassam os limites das certezas psicopatológicas e, ao mesmo tempo, confirmam suas subjetividades / This research questions the category of transsexuality in its psychopathologic dimension and the normative character concerning the sexual identities, which intend to inextricably connect sex, gender, sexual practice and desire. The implications of the sexual-anatomic and gender determinism in the process of the development of the subjectivities of the transsexuals are discussed; the pertinence of the Gender Identity Disorder (GID) psychiatric diagnosis for transsexuality is questioned; the psychoanalytic conceptions that support the psychosis diagnosis for transsexuality are analyzed; the possibility of sex change surgery subverting the sex-gender binary order is investigated; and finally, the implications of sex change surgery are considered in the subjectivities of the transsexuals. The data was collected and analyzed according to the qualitative research method and the semi-structured interview was used as the main instrument for the field research. The participants were male-to-female (MTF)transsexuals who had already undergone the surgery or were still waiting for the opportunity to do so. The data collection took place in the Gynecological Clinic in the Hospital das Clínicas da Universidade Federal de Pernambuco (UFPE) and the results were discussed in light of the theoretic contributions of Michel Foucault and Judith Butler, in the philosophical area, as well as those of Robert Stoller, Catherine Millot, Márcia Arán, Jurandir Costa and other contemporary authors, in the psychoanalytic area. The research results demonstrate that in deconstructing the normative conceptions inherent in the sex-gender binary system, the transsexuals transcend the limits of the psychopathologic certainties and, at the same time, confirm their subjectivities
