Vztah mezi gradienty diverzity, geografickým rozšířením a životními strategiemi afrických ptáků / The relationship between diversity patters, spatial distribution and life-histories in African birds

Tószögyová, Anna January 2011 (has links)
Species with particular traits are not randomly distributed across landscape. Habitats provide the templet on which evolution forges characteristic morphologies and life-history strategies and environmental determinants in an ecological processes represent a filter for certain species with appropriate traits. It is essential to understand how spatial differences in community composition are affected by geographical patterns in a distribution of species characteristics. I was interested in searching and determining the relationships between species traits and environmental parameters within avifauna of south Africa. I investigated the effect of which variables of environment most influenced bird assemblage composition and distribution of species traits in space. Relationships between the environmental factors and the species traits and life-history stategies were investigated using RLQ analysis, a multivariate ordination method able to relate a species trait table to an environmental table by way of a species presence/absence table. The first axis of the RLQ analysis was highly statistically significant and explained most of the variability. It was strongly positively related to increasing productivity, to atributes reflecting vegetation character and to availability of water sources. The rest of...

Správa a popis geografických dat v oblasti životního prostředí České republiky / Management and description of geographic data in the field of environment of the Czech Republic

Zrzavecká, Lada January 2016 (has links)
This thesis describes and analyzes the current state of environmental management of geographic data within geoinformation infrastructure of the Czech Republic in response to European legislation. The work is divided into four main parts. The first part deals with geoinformation infrastructure of the Czech Republic in its basic components due to the efficiency of the management of geographic data. Another part deals with the general characteristics of geospatial data underlying the description methods, organization and retrieval in the next section. The final part of its qualitative research describes in detail the management of geospatial data in the environmental sector, which is affected by the phenomenon of the implementation of INSPIRE and draws conclusions and recommendations. The work also supports the analysis of the availability of data sources for the implementation of the INSPIRE directive, the questionnaire used as a guide for research purposes, to illustrate the services Geoportal three pictures. Vzdělávání geografií v období kurikulární reformy českého školství: reflexe změn na vybraných pražských gymnáziích / Education through the Geography in Curricular Reformation Period of Czech Education System: Reflection of the Changes at Selected Prague's Grammar Schools

Jáchym, Jan January 2011 (has links)
The thesis, as the title suggests, focuses on education of Geography and analysis of Geography as a subject at Prague grammar schools. The aim of the thesis is to evaluate the impact of curricular changes on teaching Geography. Furthermore, the thesis is to analyze the ideas of the Geography teachers on teaching methods and content taught to students in their lessons. The work also evaluates the variety of opinions of the pedagogues concerning this topic. It also discusses their different views on a new form of the state leaving exam. Moreover, it looks for the answer whether the new exam might change the methodology of Geography. This work is mainly based on a critical evaluation of expert materials as far as the school reform is concerned. The empirical part itself consists of the survey results and the assessment of directed interviews with 11 respondents, who are the Geography teachers at nine Prague grammar schools.

Faktory ovlivňující efektivitu aposematických signálů vůči ptačím predátorům / Factors influencing effectiveness of aposematic signals against avian predators

Kuklová, Lucia January 2021 (has links)
This thesis focuses on various factors affecting effectiveness of aposematic signals against avian predators. Adult, wild-caught as well as hand-reared juvenile great tits (Parus major) were used as predators in the experiments. The thesis consists of the following four studies. In the first study, we compared the reactions of great tits from two geographically distant populations toward aposematic firebugs (Pyrrhocoris apterus) and their non-aposematic artificially made colour variant. The birds from the Bohemian population mostly avoided aposematic firebugs and attacked non-aposematic variant. Finnish birds, which lacked experience with firebugs from their natural environment, were less hesitant to attack both firebug colour forms. Although the Bohemian birds avoided the aposematic prey variant, they were not more neophobic than Finnish birds. We conclude that the geographic differences in reactions of the birds to aposematic prey can be explained by a different population-specific experience of the birds with local aposematic prey communities. In the second study, we compared effectiveness of two chemical defence strategies in leaf beetle larvae (Chrysomela lapponica) against great tits. The birds avoided larvae devoid of external secretions after the first attack, which indicates the presence...

Topografické mapování skalních útvarů s využitím dat leteckého laserového skenování / Topographic mapping of rock formations with the use of airborne laser scanning data

Lysák, Jakub January 2016 (has links)
Abstract This thesis focuses on topographic mapping of rock formations with the use of new technologies in a comprehensive manner, from airborne laser scanning (ALS) data acquisition and processing in rocky terrains, followed by their processing to the content of topographic databases and their cartographic processing in maps. The introduction discusses issues of importance for practice, and the relation between topographic mapping of rocks and other fields of human activity. The ALS section describes products for topographic mapping of rocks derived from ALS data, and discusses the specifics of ALS data acquisition and processing in wooded rugged terrain. Existing solutions of this problem are explained and their limitations are identified. Author's own approaches to solving this task are presented as case studies, including three made a further three designed experiments with ALS data processing and evaluation of their results. Recommendation regarding mapping of sandstone landscapes in Czechia have been also addressed. The topographic section describes the current representation of rocks and related objects in the ZABAGED database (Czech national digital topographic database), explains the historical context, analyzes this data and identifies their shortcomings in relation to the ALS. Research...

Vyhodnocení účinnosti komplexních ochranných opatření k.ú. Jerlochovice v povodí Husího potoka / Evaluating the effectiveness of complex protection measures in cadastral area Jerlochovice in Husí potok Watershed

Matoušek, Petr January 2015 (has links)
A subject of this Thesis is the design of the complex system of measures of soil conservation in given catchment area, which will serve as a concept of complex land consolidation in cadaster Jerlochovice. Based on the analysis and the land survey, a feasible solution was designed using the hydrological and erosive tools of ArcGIS. For the identification of areas endangered by erosion and for the identification of runoff conditions, the Universal Soil Loss Equation of Wischmeier-Smith was used (in grid modification). Based on the calculated values, the suitable technical and agrotechnical measures of soil erosion control were designed. Each component was designed for the values of Qn from the model DesQ. Subsequently the efectivity of the designed measures was evaluated by the comparison of results of erosive and runoff conditions before and after the aplication of the soil and water conservation measures.

Vizualizace georeferencovaných informací na webovém mapovém rozhraní / Georeferenced Data Visualization on Web-Based Map Interface

Růžička, Štěpán January 2011 (has links)
The master's thesis is concerned with design and implementation of library extending OpenLayers. For the solution was used JavaScript programming language. Part of this thesis is devoted to description of standards for maintaining and transfering geographic information and to JavaScript map presenting libraries and REST services.
