Návrh a vývoj tenkého klienta infrastrukturního cloudu na platformě Android / Design and development of thin client for infrastructure cloud based on Android platformAndrle, Tomáš January 2012 (has links)
This diploma thesis deals with the issue of the development of mobile thin client application which is able to manage commercial infrastructure cloud service. The introduction section provides an overview of the necessary terminology and presents the problem domain that is a subject of this thesis. Besides the project itself, of which result is the main output of this work, is also the part dedicated to research of current theses, school information resources, guidelines, recommendations and methodologies that covers topics of design and implementation of graphical user interfaces for mobile devices, especially for those that have the Android operating system installed. Information obtained on basis of the research is after used as a default knowledge base for design and implementation of the presentation layer of the previously mentioned application. The next aim of this thesis is to make analysis of requirements for new application which is being developed. The requirements are then transformed into conceptual design, to which is bound the explanation of implementation of individual application layers. UML was mainly used for the modeling of the application parts design in environment of the Sybase PowerDesigner. The programming process was performed by usage of the development environment called Eclipse SDK. Benefit of this diploma thesis lies in the possibility of reusing its concentrated knowledge resulting from the research dealing with the problems of creating GUI for mobile devices. Programmer, who is untouched in this specialization, will be able to use this part of the thesis as a critical study material which has been verified in practice. Cloud infrastructure solution providers can find there an inspiration for their own mobile thin client application.

GUI abstraction of a sensor field on mobile deviceChauhan, Gaurav January 1900 (has links)
Master of Science / Department of Computing and Information Sciences / Gurdip Singh / A sensor network can be used to observe events performed by physical entities and their physical
locations. The growing need of wireless sensor networks to monitor different events can be
accomplished by tiny computing platforms called Motes. Having a GUI abstraction of the region
can help in getting a heads up display of the region which can be used for several purposes, e.g.
in hospitals for tracking different events in case of a fire emergency. It can be helpful for
firefighters entering a large building by providing them prior information of a building layout as
it is difficult to see through due to heavy smoke. This project develops an approach to show via
GUI information of a region with the help of motes transferring data wirelessly. It is a 3-tier
application including a server, a mobile client and a mote setup. The motes execute TinyOS,
which is specifically designed operating system for sensor networks.
The project has been tested in the computer science department building, Crossbow’s TelosB
motes have been used for the mote setup. The programs for the motes are written in nesC (dialect
of C), and the client and the server program are written in Java.

Graphical Narrative Interfaces: Representing Spatiotemporal Information for a Human-Robot Team with a Highly Autonomous RobotNakano, Hiroaki 01 May 2016 (has links)
Having a well-developed Graphical User Interface (GUI) is often necessary for a human-robot team, especially when the human and the robot are not in close proximity to each other or when the human does not interact with the robot in real time. Most current GUIs process and display information in real time, but the time to interact with these systems does not scale well when the complexity of the displayed information increases or when information must be fused to support decision-making. We propose a new interface concept, a Graphical Narrative Interface (GNI), which presents story-based summaries driven by accumulated data. This thesis (a) uses literature and preliminary GNI designs to identify a set of design requirements for easily managing spatiotemporal information, (b) presents a set of algorithms designed to satisfy these requirements, (c) evaluates the utility and limitations of these algorithms, (d) describes a prototype GNI that combines these algorithms with a graphical interface, and (e) compares the GNI and a GUI through a user study and evaluates the efficiency of the GNI.

10G GPON Management System Study and ImplementationLi, Jia January 2009 (has links)
<p>This thesis includes the GPON management system concept study and implementation work to translate the command line interface management mechanism to a user friendly GUI (graphic user interface). The original system was developed in C program with a client-server structure. The new system retains the same communication structure and protocol interface between the OLT PON card and user workstations. On the workstation side, a new GUI management client application is developed in Java to offer the similar functionalities as the original one, and a totally new graphic real-time system traffic statistics function is integrated to make it easier for user to monitor system traffic information in real time.</p><p> </p><p>The main object of this project is to study the GPON specifications, and understand GPON system working procedure and traffic transmission principle. On the other hand, ‘original system management application’ study is necessary including third party documentation reading and C code understanding. This study has resulted in the development of a new application in Java with third party user libraries and plug-ins. This new application has been tested using basic function tests executed in the GPON lab environment.</p>
