Odlišení produktů BONEGA pomocí strategie modrého oceánu / Differentiation of BONEGA products by blue ocean strategy

Hudeček, Michal January 2009 (has links)
At the moment, one of the biggest problems BONEGA company is dealing with is blocked access to wholesale networks by strong multinational corporations. One of the solutions is to introduce such unique and different products that customers force wholesales to offer BONEGA products as other competitors would not provide comparable devices. This thesis evaluate existing approaches to differantiation. The most suitable solution for current situation of BONEGA is blue ocean strategy. However, it has several unsolved issues, especially when applied to manufacturing firm with wide range of products, that are being solved in this paper. In order to gain long term competitive advantage based on value innovation, blue ocean strategy must be implemented into company's culture. Therefore a pilot realization of the process was undertaken. It brought several new ideas for differentiation and also valuable knowledge about adoption of the process into day-to-day company life. Those findings are also part of this work.

Struktur på egna villkor : Om biståndshandläggares förutsättningar att implementera ett nytt arbetssätt / Structure on their own terms : About needs assessor’s abilities to implement a new way of working

Grimmtjärn, Sara January 2016 (has links)
This article is about social workers that assess disabled people’s needs and their abilities to implement a new way of working. The National Board of Health and Welfare (Socialstyrelsen) in Sweden are developing a new way of working in these cases and it’s supposed to make the social work more evidence based. The National Board of Health and Welfare has already developed this kind of instrument for the social workers who assess needs of children and elderly people and now it’s time for those who work with disabled people. Therefore, I have chosen to study which possibilities these social workers have to implement this new method called IBIC (Individens Behov I Centrum - The individual’s needs in focus, my translation). I have based my study on three factors that are important that the persons involved in an implementation have in order for the implementation to succeed. They are: comprehension, capability and willingness. The aim was to get an understanding based on the three factors comprehend, capability and willingness of which abilities the assessment workers have to implement IBIC and how this would affect the profession. To reach that aim I have interviewed six social workers who assess the needs of disabled persons. The social workers were chosen because of their work title and after approval by their managers. I was able to get one who has worked 22 years, two who has worked around 10 years and three who has just started working. This meant that I got a good distribution in length of experience. In my sample there is also one who has worked with the standardized work method for children that I mentioned earlier. The results show that most of the social workers comprehend IBIC but it is doubtful whether or not they have the capability and the willingness to implement it. The result also shows that an implementation of IBIC most likely would mean that the profession which now is based on occupational values would move towards organizational professionalism.

The Co-Strategy Process: introducing technology through interdisciplinary collaboration, so it meets biology in society : A case study regarding the path of Robot-Assisted-Rehabilitation from laboratory to patients in Sweden

Suciu, Pascalina January 2019 (has links)
As part of the current fast growing development of digital technologies, collaborations between professions such as neurosciences, robotics, big data processing and artificial intelligence offer new possibilities for healthcare. For these new technologies to reach clinical practice, there is an increasing need for interdisciplinary organizational work to support decision-making over their introduction. In the field of neurorehabilitation, exoskeletons are an example of a robotic tool that can be used to regain locomotion abilities after a neurological injury. They are part of an umbrella term, Robot-Assisted-Rehabilitation (RAR), that stands for neurological recovery techniques assisted with robotic tools. For these tools, the introduction, evaluation and implementation in clinical practice have not been evaluated. In many cases it is also not taken into account that tools such as rehabilitation robotics are context-dependent. In other words, the needs, opportunities and challenges that come together with working efficiently with this new technology can widely vary between clinics, regions and countries. Lastly, it appears that smaller hospitals consider themselves in need of tools to support their decision-making in the RAR introduction phase. In collaboration with Hälsostaden and Region Skåne, we set out to develop a tool to support Ängelholm Hospital (ÄH) in their decision-making over a test-bed trial of RAR in their clinical setting. A tool that we coined the Co-Strategy Process (CSP), was developed based on identified needs related to this stage of the process, using a blend of interdisciplinary scientific methods. It integrates internal and external interdisciplinary expertise and includes four steps: Preparation, Knowledge Empowerment, Exchange & Development and Synthesis & Report. The current Master thesis presents the development and assessment of the CSP at ÄH. In the present context, it results in a new tool for supporting organizations implementing new technologies, optimized based on its application in a Swedish clinical setting. This tool aims at serving this introductory process, so that new technologies can be implemented meeting the needs of both the clinic and patients. / e Rehab-robotic project in collaboration with Uppsala University, Basel University and ETH Zurich

The impact of TQM on a traditionally segregated work environment: An empirical study of the healthcare sector in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

Al-Dakheel, Hiafa M. January 2002 (has links)
In the last decade, the rapid development in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA) has forced its government to implement modern management styles such as Total Quality Management (TQM) to ensure continuous improvement in the provision of healthcare. There is a considerable body of literature that shows the benefits of implementing TQM in hospitals, but there are few empirical studies that show TQM implementation efforts in the healthcare sector. Furthermore, the healthcare literature did not explore the implementation of TQM in a context of gender segregated environment such as the case in KSA. This research project is an exploratory investigation assessing the impact of TQM in a gender segregated healthcare environment such as KSA. The research design used triangulation methods to investigate the problem at hand. A combination of quantitative and qualitative methodologies were used through field-work and external comparisons. The approach was based on the following: (1) Assessing the level of perception and understanding of TQM principles in several KSA hospitals, taking into account the differences and similarities between the different gender population, (2) Examining the approach to TQM implementation and its degree of effectiveness in four Saudi hospitals to highlight critical factors for effective implementations using the Baldrige assessment method; (3) Benchmarking the Saudi hospital experiences to UK and USA hospitals to highlight key facilitating and inhibiting factors; (4) Using key findings from the previous steps to identify the critical factors and propose a model for TQM implementations in a segregated healthcare environment such as the case in the KSA. The survey research findings show a weak appreciation, awareness and understanding of TQM in managing healthcare organisations by the respondents in the KSA. It clearly shows that many employees in the organisations do riot understand TQM. The degree of emphasis for each quality activity varied and thus more research needs to be done to investigate the importance of each quality activity to a TQM implementation process, as there are varying degrees of emphasis across the board. The KSA case studies show that in implementing organisations, TQM intentions and TQM policy frameworks are generally acceptable. However, the implementation process is generally weak and lacks coordination in the majority of these organisations. It is clear that the majority of the KSA cases have not succeeded in total commitment towards a total quality culture. When compared to the UK and USA hospitals, the majority of the KSA cases show deficiencies in most of the critical activities that form the foundation of a successful quality process. Furthermore, the study indicates three critical factors in KSA hospitals that either did not exist or were not given full attention. The importance of these factors were further validated in the literature. The factors were continuous top management commitment, continuous education and training, and culture awareness. These factors were then used to develop a model for TQM implementation for a segregated healthcare environment. / King Saud University
