Inkludering : En intervjustudie om begreppet inkludering och inkluderande praktiker i Sverige och på Åland

Nordkvist, Anna, Nygård, Joel January 2018 (has links)
This study aims to complement, and add to, existing knowledge and perceptions regarding the term inclusion. The overarching aim is to provide examples of elementary school teachers’ views regarding their definition of inclusion, their perceptions of how legal documents describe it and their approaches on including practices in the classroom. The study is qualitative and based on interviews with eight elementary school teachers. Four teachers operate in a Swedish school and four teachers work at the Åland Islands in Finland. The study underscores the fact that definitions of the term inclusion varies, both among the teachers who are interviewed and among teachers and scholars. It also shows that the teachers’ perceptions of inclusion tend to derive primarily from media and collegial discussions, rather than from their education or the curriculum.
