Kategorisering inom grundskolan : elever i behov av särskilt stöd

Sjölander, Katarina, Bengtson, Lena January 2011 (has links)
The purpose of this work has been on the basis of various professions perception illuminate and obtains understanding and knowledge about the factors that affect children, who are in the border zones between different types of school, and their options for legal aid and type of school, and understanding of the consequences it may mean. The study used a qualitative methodology consisting of interviews with five people in different professions who had insight into the work with elementary school students. The empirical data were analyzed from a phenomenological perspective on social constructivism theory and previous research. The results showed that a factor such as lack of time for teaching and a lack of resources in the form of expertise has helped to enhance the categorization process in elementary school. The process has been diagnosed with an important role as a factor in the distribution of school resources. One conclusion that emerged was that with more time and the right resources in primary schools can impact the diagnosis of children with special needs should be avoided.

Narrative inquiry of starting an enterprise

Wu, Kuo-Jung 10 July 2010 (has links)
To pursuit as an entrepreneur is one of options of career, it is also a dream of many people. Not all the ventures are with success eventually, however, it deserves for a trial and learning a lesson. As being one of the founders of C corporation, the researcher will explore the undertaking process of starting an enterprise in this study, and investigate the issues induced by people and their influence during development of enterprise. The motivation of an entrepreneur to start an enterprise can be traced back to background of his childhood of family life, education and work experience. After setting up an enterprise, the employee will join and will get involved in managing of the organization. And the enterprise will become more complicate as a non-linear system. By investigating the key events during the venture, the role of people and problems induced at various stages of life-cycle of organization will be studied and try to find their resolution. By using narrative inquiry, the researcher will narrative himself as life story to re-entry realm of past experience of the venture of starting C corporation. Though, it is painful to recall some memory. However, the past experience is the most valuable and knowledgeable for C corporation to recreate second curve of life-cycle of organization by innovation of entrepreneurship.

The introspection on talking to three lay congregations- via the appreciative method of narrative inquiry

Hsu, Hsuan-Chen 28 July 2010 (has links)
This thesis reviews life stories of three lay congregations with the method of narrative inquiry. It consists of a collection of life experiences, and the searching of the values of life. The researcher reviews, reflects on, appreciates and gives meaning to these three life stories by using the theory of introspection as the main axis. And, the researcher used open-ended interview guide for reference. The purpose of this study is to explore the life story of three lay congregations, further analyzing in narrative research. Although the life stories of the three participants were all cultivated under individual context, the researcher discovered via the practice of Buddhism, three participants had evolved the spiritual side of themselves to a great extent; they therefore encouraged researcher to elaborate for the love of life, support researcher to return to her heart, searching the source of life. Trough in-depth interviews and candid retelling of their life stories, the mercy spiritual leader ¡VMaster Daoyuan - his credibility is documented. Through the appreciative method of narrative inquiry, the researcher reflect her cognitive-self by listening to the life stories of three lay congregations, to further identify with the practice of Buddhism.

The effects of divergent production activities with math inquiry and think aloud of students with math difficulty

Park, Hija 29 August 2005 (has links)
The present study was designed to investigate the effects of divergent production activities with math inquiry and think aloud strategy of students with math difficulty. Multiple baseline across behaviors design was replicated across four participants. This research also investigated relationships between the interventions and creativity scores by employing pretest and posttest design as measured by the Torrance Tests of Creative Thinking (TTCT). The results varied with the participants and the interventions. The overall mean in all three treatments increased a mild degree based on descriptive statistics. All four participants showed a drastic variability in math problem solving. T-test results from the TTCT showed that there were significant differences in both fluency and flexibility scores. Elaboration and originality scores appeared unaffected since the instructions were mean in all three treatments increased to a mild degree based on descriptive statistics. All four primarily involved in fluency and flexibility creativity constructs. Originality was excluded as a measure and elaboration was not instructed intensely enough in the program. Conclusively, 5th grade students with math difficulty improved both think aloud and math inquiry scores based on visual/statistical inspection of Mean+Trend difference analysis. It was found that only math inquiry intervention was effective to a mild degree for three out of four participants. Fluency and flexibility scores increased as a result of divergent production activities, however not enough to say that overall creativity is fostered directly by the program. Issues emerged out of the math problem solving in terms of controlling variability and developing content materials for the instruction. Further research is needed to ascertain the effects of multiple interventions on students with math difficulty. Replications are needed to expand the findings to the development of viable instructions. Future study is also needed to use varied math inquiry skills and think aloud strategy in order to improve both problem solving ability and creativity associated with mathematics.

Challenging hegemony in education: specific parrhesiastic scholars, care of the self, and relations of power

Huckaby, M. Francyne 25 April 2007 (has links)
This dissertation explores how five specific intellectuals challenge hegemony in education and society, and express uncomfortable truths about hegemony faced by local communities in their academic practices. Their actions of free speech in regards to dangerous truths are similar to those of the ancient Greek parrhesiastes. This word, parrhesiastes, was used to describe the male citizen in ancient Greece, who had and used his rights to free speech or parrhesia. The activity of speaking freely, parrhesiazesthai, however, is not without its risks. Such speech is dangerous to the status quo, as well as the parrhesiastes. The activity is engaged despite the consequences and the parrhesiastes faces dangers and risks. It is argued that the five scholars who participated in this study are specific parrhesiastic scholars. They are specific intellectuals in their relations with academia, communities, and movements; and parrhesiastes in their actions to assure their rights to and exercise of freedom. While the ancient parrhesiastes served a critical and pedagogical role in transforming citizens to serve the best interests of the city, the specific parrhesiastic scholar, in the case of these five scholars, argues for changes in society for the benefit of citizens whose interests have been ignored or trampled. Foucault acknowledged that the work of specific intellectuals could benefit the state to the detriment of local communities or could work to transform the state to include the interests of specific communities. Specific parrhesiastic scholars choose the latter. The focus of this study is the intersection of technologies of the self with technologies of power. This intersection, which Foucault terms governmentality, comes closest to a utilitarian exploration of resistance to power and the formation of freedom, and understanding of how individuals negotiate their particular positions in truth games for resistance and freedom. The basic conditions necessary for parrhesiazesthai are "citizenship" and understanding the distinction between positive and negative forms of parrhesia. The parrhesiastic practices of the five scholars are explored through three analytical frames: (1) self-knowledge and resisting repression, seduction, and desire; (2) political activity and tactics; and (3) the self within systems of subjugation.

The effects of promoting elementary school student¡¦s moral development through a moral inquiry teaching

Ke, Yi-Ting 23 July 2008 (has links)
The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of elementary school students¡¦ moral characteristics and moral behaviors through a moral inquiry teaching. A nonequivalent pretest-posttest design was conducted on this study. Two investigator-developed instruments (i.e., ¡§School Students Moral Behavior Questionnaire¡¨ and ¡§Parenting practice Questionnaire¡¨) were conducted on both experimental and control group students during the pre- and post moral inquiry teaching. In addition, daily student behavior records and follow-up individual interviews with student, teachers, and their parents were collected to verify the quantitative results. The main findings from t-tests comparisons and ANCOVA analyses were as follows: 1. The posttest experimental group students¡¦ moral characteristics total scores were significantly higher than the control group¡¦s. 2. On the topic of ¡§responsibility¡¦¡¦, the experimental students agreed that being responsible in family matters positively correlates to moral behaviors. 3. On the topic of ¡§respect earth¡¦¡¦, the experimental students presented more respectful in their school areas ,but not in public districts. 4. On the topic of ¡§taking care of others¡¦¡¦¡GBefore the intervention, the experimental group students expressed more active cares to their parents, but not to their classmates. After 9 topic systematic inquiry teaching, students pay more attention on their classmates; therefore , the experimental group students obtain higher scores than control group. Implications for practice and research are provided.

Reflection on Cross-cultural learning experience - A case study of Global MBA of National Sun Yat-Sen University

Hsu, Ti-wei 03 August 2009 (has links)
In the past, most studies of the multi-national team were focused on the differences of culture, or adopted the concept of Western theory to explain the organizational behavior of Chinese community. Research methods also are based on logical positivism, not showing the process of conflicting, bearing, and adjusting different cultures. In this study, there are several attempts, such as the standpoint of research and research method. In regard to standpoint of research, I adopt the perspective of Chinese to observe organization conflict and cultural differences within a multi-national team (CAT Problem); in regard to research method, I used Narrative Inquiry to explore and describe the progress and story of multi-national team and tried to analyze the Chinese members¡¦ silent response in the operational process of multi-national team, which can be interpreted as the following four meanings: (a) focusing on the harmonious relationship between the groups, and (b) showing the bearing, and (C) adhering to the formality, and(d) looking forward to equal payback. This study found that each member of the multi-national team has to understand and grasp his/ her deep cultural context which influences his/ her words and deeds. And then team members can base on understanding cultural differences in the interaction of the team to find out the consensus and the way of thinking of the multi-national team. In addition, this study also recommends the leader should assist the Chinese team member of multinational team to redefine the cognitive of the harmonious relationship. It will help Chinese team member to improve the performance in a multi-national team.

Metacognitive tutoring for inquiry-driven modeling

Joyner, David A. 08 June 2015 (has links)
Over the past several decades, many K-12 classes have moved to use open, inquiry-based approaches to science instruction; research has shown some benefits from these approaches. However, there also exist significant challenges in teaching scientific modeling and inquiry, some based on their nature as metacognitive skills and others based on the general difficulty in providing guided instruction in open-ended exploratory learning contexts. To address these challenges, this dissertation presents a metacognitive tutoring system that teaches students an authentic process of inquiry-driven scientific modeling within an exploratory science learning environment. The design of the metacognitive tutoring system is informed by the literature on the process of scientific modeling and inquiry in both education and science, and it draws from AI theories of metacognition and intelligent tutoring. The tutoring system monitors the performance of teams of students in an open inquiry task in ecology. The system provides feedback on demand about how well the team is doing in investigating and explaining the system, and it also intervenes when errors in the process are observed or when new abilities are demonstrated. To evaluate this system, a controlled experiment was conducted with 237 students in a middle school life science classroom. In one condition, teams of students completed the activity without the tutoring system enabled, while in the other condition teams interacted with the tutoring system during part of their inquiry and modeling process. Evaluations of this experiment have shown that students who interact with the tutoring system improved in their attitudes toward scientific inquiry and careers in science, and that teams that interact with the tutoring system generate better explanations of ecological phenomena.
