[en] VERNACULAR GRAPHIC DESIGN: ART OF THE LETTER PAINTERS / [pt] DESIGN GRÁFICO VERNACULAR: A ARTE DOS LETRISTASFERNANDA DE ABREU CARDOSO 26 November 2003 (has links)
[pt] Esta pesquisa pretende analisar a produção de material
gráfico produzido pelas classes populares, o que é aqui
denominado Design Gráfico Vernacular. O objetivo do
teórica, entrevistas, observações e análise gráfica do
restaurantes e lanchonetes; cabeleireiros e chaveiros,
A importância desta pesquisa
[en] This dissertation intends to analyse the production of
graphical material proceeding from popular social groups,
which is herein named Graphic Vernacular Design. The
focus of the work is to analyse this phenomenon through
theoretical research, surveys, observation and graphical
analyses of the object at issue, observing the social
context in which that production arises, what defines it
and the use of such objects. The object of study is based
on a set of signs featured by three categories of business
and services, such as: bars, restaurants and snack-bars;
hairdressers and locksmiths registered in the city of
Rio de Janeiro. From the observation and analysis of a
handmade set of signs made by skilled professionals in that
area of production, the so-called letter painters, this
piece of work also investigates the existence of a
particular language in that kind of production. The
research takes as principle the fact that legitimation
instances proceeding from different social groups impose
values and rules of judgement which affect the production
of a field of production of symbolic goods as occurs with
the design. The importance of this study is based on the
fact that the production of graphic vernacular design, even
though characterizing a handmade production in a post-
industrial society is still a regular practice in the
country. That kind of production lives together with the
production of cultured graphic design inside the same
society: however, both fields of production are formed to
attend the needs of distinct social groups.

The international responsibility of States due to cancel or not to recognize awards / La responsabilidad internacional de los Estados por anular o no reconocer laudosCantuarias Salaverry, Fernando, Repetto Deville, Jose Luis 12 April 2018 (has links)
In the framework of international treaties, with special emphasis on theBilateral investment treaty (Bit), various responsibilities for states that comprise arise. However , what happens when the courts of a country interfere contrary to international standards in full force and effect of an award, the impact caused in that state and that leading to be internationally liable to a Bit or FtA are studied in this essay. the author further analyze jurisprudence of investment arbitration tribunals in cases Saipem v. Bangladesh, ATA v. Jordan Frontier Petroleum v. Czech Republic and White Industries v. India, also focuses on the case of Peru; and urges members of a treaty respect the rules of the game. Bangladesh, ATA v. Jordania, Frontier Petroleum v. República Checa y White Industries v. [en] METHOD FOR AUTOMATIC DETECTION OF STAMPS IN SCANNED DOCUMENTS USING DEEP LEARNING AND SYNTHETIC DATA GENERATION BY INSTANCE AUGMENTATION / [pt] MÉTODO PARA DETECÇÃO AUTOMÁTICA DE CARIMBOS EM DOCUMENTOS ESCANEADOS USANDO DEEP LEARNING E GERAÇÃO DE DADOS SINTÉTICOS ATRAVÉS DE INSTANCE AUGMENTATIONTHALES LEVI AZEVEDO VALENTE 11 August 2022 (has links)
[en] Scanned documents in business environments have replaced large volumes
of papers. Authorized professionals use stamps to certify critical information in
these documents. Many companies need to verify the adequate stamping of
incoming and outgoing documents. In most inspection situations, people perform a
visual inspection to identify stamps. Therefore, manual stamp checking is tiring,
susceptible to errors, and inefficient in terms of time spent and expected results.
Errors in manual checking for stamps can lead to fines from regulatory bodies,
interruption of operations, and even compromise workflows and financial
transactions. This work proposes two methods that combined can address this
problem, by fully automating stamp detection in real-world scanned documents.
The developed methods can handle datasets containing many small sample-sized
types of stamps, multiples overlaps, different combinations per page, and missing
data. The first method proposes a deep network architecture designed from the
relationship between the problems identified in real-world stamps and the
challenges and solutions of the object detection task pointed out in the literature.
The second method proposes a novel instance augmentation pipeline of stamp
datasets from real data to investigate whether it is possible to detect stamp types
with insufficient samples. We evaluate the hyperparameters of the instance
augmentation approach and the obtained results through a Deep Explainability
method. We achieve state-of-the-art results for the stamp detection task by
successfully combining these two methods, achieving 97.3 percent of precision and
93.2 percent of recall.

[pt] DESENVOLVIMENTO DE UMA METODOLOGIA PARA CARACTERIZAÇÃO DE FASES NO PELLET FEED UTILIZANDO MICROSCOPIA DIGITAL E APRENDIZAGEM PROFUNDA / [en] DEVELOPMENT OF A METHODOLOGY FOR PHASE CHARACTERIZATION IN PELLET FEED USING DIGITAL MICROSCOPY AND DEEP LEARNINGTHALITA DIAS PINHEIRO CALDAS 09 November 2023 (has links)
magnetita, goethita e quartzo.
a qualidade do material.
Deep Learning utilizando o algoritmo Mask R-CNN.
[en] Iron ore is found in nature as an aggregate of minerals. Among the main
minerals in its composition are hematite, magnetite, goethite, and quartz. Given the
importance of iron ore for the industry, there is a growing interest in its
characterization to assess the material s quality. With the advancement of image
analysis and microscopy research, characterization routines were developed using
Digital Microscopy and Digital Image Processing and Analysis tools capable of
automating a large part of the process. However, it encountered some difficulties,
such as identifying and classifying the different textures of hematite particles, the
different shapes of its crystals, or discriminating between quartz and resin in optical
microscopy images of reflected light. Therefore, from the need to build systems
capable of learning and adapting to possible variations of the images of this
material, the possibility of studying the use of Deep Learning tools for this function
arose. This work proposes developing a new mineral characterization methodology
based on Deep Learning using the Mask R-CNN algorithm. Through this, it is
possible to perform instance segmentation, that is, to develop systems capable of
identifying, classifying, and segmenting objects in images. In this work, two models
were developed: Model 1 performs segmentation of instances for the compact,
porous, martite, and goethite classes in images obtained in Bright Field, and Model
2 uses images acquired in Circularly Polarized Light to segment the classes
monocrystalline, polycrystalline and martite. For Model 1, F1-score was obtained
around 80 percent, and for Model 2, around 90 percent. From the class segmentation, it was possible to extract important attributes of each particle, such as quantity
distribution, shape measurements, size, and area fraction. The obtained results were
very promising and indicated that the developed methodology could be viable for
such characterization.
