A noção de estilo em Lacan / The Notion of Style in Lacan

O presente trabalho surge a partir do descompasso verificado entre a produção extensa na psicanálise lacaniana dos anos 1990-2010 sobre a noção de estilo e o lugar enigmático que Lacan confere a essa noção em sua obra. Os poucos movimentos de definição ao longo do texto lacaniano contrastam com resposta a questões centrais do corpus epistêmico, entre os comentadores. Levantamos, assim, a hipótese de um efeito ideológico que essa noção concentra em termos da transmissão da psicanálise e da teorização sobre o fim do tratamento. Dito isso, esta pesquisa realiza um levantamento das ocorrências da temática do estilo em Lacan para então problematizá-las com o momento de sua produção e com suas origens na teoria estética, a fim de compreender como as mudanças que a temática e seu tratamento sofrem se relacionam com a sua posição epistêmica. Em seguida, ela investiga a reverberação e o tratamento do estilo nas produções posteriores de filiação lacaniana. Para tanto, nosso método de leitura parte da intersecção entre os campos da estética, da clínica psicanalítica e da política da psicanálise; campos que podem adquirir certa funcionalidade de troca e construção entre si com a problematização da noção de estilo. A pesquisa resulta na demonstração de que ignorar a especificidade da questão do estilo em Lacan / This study arises from the question that the extensive production gap in Lacanian psychoanalysis and the enigmatic place that Lacan gives the sense of style in his work produces, since the notion of style has few defining definitional movements along the Lacanian text, but takes a often central place in response to important issues of the epistemic corpus, such that of transmission of psychoanalysis or the end of an analysis. We propose in the paper to investigate the style of thematic events in Lacan in order to problematize them with the time of its production so we can understand how changes to the theme and its treatment suffer relate their epistemic position. Then we investigated the reverbaration and treatment of style in later productions of Lacanian afiliation as well as a correlation in the field of their history of aesthetics. The methodological bet is that there is something at the intersection of the fields of aesthetics, the psychoanalytic clinic and psychoanalytic politics that can acquire a certain feature of trade and construction among them with the questioning of the notion of style. We believe that ignoring the question of style in Lacan can cause deadlocks and ideological deviations both theoretical and clinical

O presente trabalho tem como objetivo: Compreender a lógica da ética da psicanálise partindo de uma análise das formulações propostas por Lacan no Seminário VII, comparando-a com a lógica que formaliza as formas de gozo do Seminário XX, e articulando as possibilidades de uma releitura da ética a partir de tal lógica. Para tanto precorremos o seguinte caminho para nossa pesquisa: Primeiramente, analisaamos o panorama ético do Seminário VII, partindo da critica lacaniana à ética de Aristóteles e de Kant; em seguida discutir os impasses da ética apresentados no Seminário VII, marcando a lógica da sexuação como uma escolha possível de Lacan para a formalização desses impasses; finalmente, utilizar as modalidades lógicas resultantes do modos de gozo tal como Lacan as articula no Seminário XX, na releitura das proposições do seminário da ética. Do ponto de vista do método, trata-se de uma pesquisa teórico-conceitual, epistemologicamente orientada, cujo eixo metodológico principal é uma análise comparativa entre duas abordagens distintas de Lacan sobre o tema da ética. Nossa intenção é contrapor os conceitos envolvidos em ambas as abordagens, retirando desse embate consequências teorias e praticas para a ética da psicanálise; também intencionamos, contrapor as lógicas que sustentam cada momento do ensino de Lacan, marcando as similitudes e as diferenças / The objective of the present work is: understanding the logic of the ethics of psychoanalysis initiating from an analysis of the formulations proposed by Lacan in Seminar VII comparing it with the logic that formalises the forms of jouissance in Seminar XX and articulating the possibilities of a reassessment of the ethic related to such logic. To do so, we proceeded along the following path in our research: firstly, we analysed the ethical panorama of Seminar VII from the Lacanian critique to the ethics of Aristotle and Kant; then, we continued discussing the obstacles of the ethics presented in Seminar VII setting out the logic of sexuation as a possible choice of Lacan for the formalisation of these obstacles. Finally, we utilized the logical manner resulting from the varying modes of jouissance as Lacan articulates them in Seminar XX in the rereading of the proposals of the seminar on ethics. From the point of view of the method followed, it is theoretical-conceptual research, epistemologically oriented, the methodological axis of which is a comparative analysis between two distinct approaches of Lacan regarding the ethical theme. Our intention is to compare and contrast the concepts involved in both approaches, observing from this discussion the theoretical and practical consequences for the ethics of psychoanalysis. O fantasma na direção da análise / The phantasme in the direction of psychoanalysis

O tema desenvolvido nesta tese dá seguimento àquele já tratado na dissertação de mestrado. Naquela ocasião, ao discutir o narcisismo em Freud e Lacan, mostrei como a partir de Lacan, mas desde Freud, não se pode falar de imaginário a não ser numa relação ao simbólico. Isto porque não há autonomia ao nível imaginário mas ao nível simbólico. Para tratar e situar o fantasma na direção da análise é preciso fazê-lo à luz da topologiana lacaniana, isto é, do real, do simbólico e do imaginário. Lacan vai retomar a superação da primeira teoria das pulsões (sexuais e de autoconservação) em Freud e sua elaboração da segunda teoria das pulsões (vida e morte) para, através da pulsão de morte, que opera como fundamento da repetição, mostrar a dimensão real do gozo. A partir desta articulação é que será possível tratar a dimensão do sintoma e sua relação ao fantasma na direção da análise. Se de um lado o fantasma é o suporte do desejo, por outro lado ele é ponto de gozo; assim é um articulador de desejo e gozo na direção da análise. É através da posição do sujeito no fantasma que teremos uma leitura da estratégia de desejo e da modalidade de gozo. Se o sintoma é interpretado, o fantasma é construído em análise / The subject developed in this thesis follows the one already treated in master´s degree. In that occasion, discussing narcissism in Freud and Lacan, I showed how from Lacan, but since Freud, it is not possible to talk about imaginary without relation to symbolic. To deal and to place the phantasm in the direction of the psychoanalytic it is necessary to do it through of the psychoanalysis it is necessary to do it through lacanien topology real, symbolic and imaginary. Lacan retakes the overcoming of Freud´s first instinct theory (sexual and self conservation) and his elaboration of second´s instinct theory (life and death) for, through instinct of death, that operates as basis for repetition to show the real dimension for joy (jouissance). From this articulation it will be possible to treat the dimension of symptom and its relation to phantasm in the direction of psychoanalysis. On the one side the phantasm is the support for the desire, on the other it is point of joy (jouissance); so it is an articulation between desire and joy (jouissance) in the direction of psychoanalysis. It is through the position of the subject in the phantasm that we can have one lecture of the desire´s strategy and the joy´s modality. If the symptom is interpreted, the phantasm is builded in psychoanalysis. The traverssing of the phantasm implicates in the building of the fundamental phantasm, point axiomatic in the subject´s structure

Dans le contexte d’une société américaine où la religion occupe une place primordiale, une approche lacanienne des romans de Tom Robbins s’avère particulièrement utile pour dégager les thèmes directeurs de ses œuvres : le messianisme, le mysticisme et le monothéisme. Non seulement ces manifestations religieuses jouent un rôle central dans son œuvre romanesque, mais elles servent aussi à mieux exploiter les outils psychanalytiques développés par Jacques Lacan, et en particulier le Symbolique, l’Imaginaire et le Réel. Comment le RSI peut-il éclaircir le débat religieux dans les œuvres de Tom Robbins ou dans d’autres œuvres postmodernes ? Cette étude multidisciplinaire répond à cette problématique en se portant sur trois axes principaux. Premièrement, l’envergure de la messianité dans la société américaine donne lieu au phénomène littéraire que nous appelons « le sujet messianique », se caractérisant par son ancrage topologique dans le Symbolique lacanien. Ensuite, la prévalence d’une approche mystique de la spiritualité dans les œuvres robbinsiennes s’exprime par une relation mystique entre un être divin d’une part, et le croyant d’autre part – rapport symbiotique propre à l’instance Imaginaire. Enfin, le Réel lacanien met en exergue l’impossibilité de la réconciliation structurale entre ces deux instances en explorant le thème du monothéisme dans les œuvres de Tom Robbins. Cette thèse a l’ambition non seulement de faire connaître un écrivain américain peu connu du public francophone, mais aussi de mieux définir l’articulation entre la religion, la psychanalyse et les romans de Tom Robbins / In the context of an American society where the importance of religion takes on epic proportions, a Lacanian approach to analyzing Tom Robbins’ novels is particularly useful in the identification of his works’ major themes: messianism, mysticism and monotheism. Not only do these particular religious events play a central role in his fiction, but they also serve to put psychoanalytic tools to use, such tools as the Symbolic, the Imaginary and the Real developed by Jacques Lacan. How can RSI define the religious debate in the works of Tom Robbins? This multidisciplinary study addresses this problem by focusing on three main areas. First of all, American society’s infatuation with messianism has given rise to a literary phenomenon that I have termed « the messianic subject », characterized by its topological anchorage in the Symbolic order. Moreover, the prevalence of mystical approaches to spirituality in Robbins’ novels – expressed by a mystical relationship between a divine being on the one hand, and believers on the other – constitute a symbiotic relationship present in Lacan’s Imaginary order. Finally, the realm of the Lacanian Real highlights the impossibility of reconciliation between these two structural instances by exploring the theme of monotheism in the works of Tom Robbins. This dissertation aims not only to make a little-known American writer known to Francophone audiences, but also to better define the relationship between religion and psychoanalysis in the novels of Tom Robbins

La bibliothèque littéraire Jacques Doucet : lieu de mémoire du surréalisme?

Notre étude a deux objectifs. En toile de fond, elle vise d'abord à faire connaître et même découvrir le collectionneur et mécène Jacques Doucet (1853-1929). Ce personnage, pour ainsi dire oublié aujourd'hui, a pourtant laissé sa marque dans plusieurs domaines au début du XXe siècle, que ce soit la haute couture, le design, l'histoire de l'art et la littérature. Ses réalisations (sa maison de couture, ses collections d'oeuvres d'art et ses deux bibliothèques), malgré leur avant-gardisme, ont été des réussites et ont influencé leur domaine respectif. Mais notre objectif principal est de mieux comprendre, à partir d'une de ses réalisations, la Bibliothèque littéraire Jacques Doucet, pourquoi et comment une institution peut être désignée lieu de la mémoire collective d'un peuple. Cette Bibliothèque, fondée pendant les années 1910, fut désignée en 2003 lieu de la mémoire du surréalisme lors de la vente aux enchères du contenu de l'appartement d'André Breton, fondateur et chef de file de ce mouvement. Notre problématique soulève trois hypothèses. Tout d'abord, nous croyons que la Bibliothèque littéraire Jacques Doucet a été désignée lieu de la mémoire du surréalisme à cause des liens qui ont existé entre Jacques Doucet et les jeunes surréalistes. Doucet a agi à titre de mécène auprès des membres de ce mouvement pendant les années 1920, alors que les surréalistes, eux, ont travaillé activement au développement de la Bibliothèque pendant cette même période. Plusieurs d'entre eux légueront leurs archives personnelles à la Bibliothèque par signe d'attachement et de reconnaissance envers Jacques Doucet. Cependant, nous pensons que même si une bibliothèque est, par définition, un lieu de conservation et d'accès à la mémoire, elle n'est pas forcément un « lieu de mémoire » tel que défini par l'historien Pierre Nora dans son ouvrage du même nom. Ceci semble être le cas de la Bibliothèque littéraire Jacques Doucet, qui n'est pas facilement accessible au public et ne dégage pas d'aura symbolique. Finalement, nous croyons que si l'État a désigné la Bibliothèque littéraire lieu de la mémoire du surréalisme et a décidé de ne pas convertir l'appartement de Breton en musée, c'est pour faire cesser la prolifération des lieux patrimoniaux, qui se sont multipliés depuis les années 1970. Afin de vérifier ces hypothèses, nous avons analysé les liens entre Jacques Doucet et les surréalistes, et l'impact que ces derniers ont eu sur le développement de la Bibliothèque. Nous avons également tracé l'histoire de cette institution depuis sa fondation, mais en insistant particulièrement sur son rôle dans la connaissance du mouvement surréaliste.
