Pesquisadores brasileiros em periódicos científicos de ciências da comunicação / Brazilian researchers in scientific journals of Communication Sciences.

Costa, Renata Carvalho da 19 August 2015 (has links)
The study\'s main objective is to describe the profile of the Brazilian researcher publishing in scientific journals of Communication Sciences area. We consider Brazilian researchers those inserted into the country\'s academic and research systems, regardless their place of birth. The corpus of this research is composed by the five Brazilian scientific journals highly rated in this area, ie those that comprise the stratum A2, according to the WebQualis 2010-2012 period, periodic assessment system of Higher Education Personnel Training Coordination (Capes). They are E-Compós, Revista Famecos, Galáxia, Revista da Intercom and MATRIZes. We studied articles from all editions published between 2000 and 2012. The journals had their articles analyzed through the titles, authors, academic degree and affiliation of those authors, keywords and references. From this list, we traced the most applicant\'s research profile that publishes in journals A2, taking into account academic degree, university and subject of articles, from keywords and title. It can be said, thus, that the predominant profile is feminine, with Phd\'s degree and most of the articles are published by researchers from University of São Paulo about media studies (medialogy). Behind the empirical research, the theoretical object is the epistemology of Communication Sciences, considering the concept of scientific field according to Bourdieu and taking into account its institutionalization and the issues raised by the sociology of science. As for references, we can highlight that European authors, especially French, constitute the majority of citations made by Brazilian authors in the corpus, but there are few recurring works in the references, which on the one hand, means researchers have cited new authors and works, but the data also points to the lack of unity of the Communications area around central names and reference works.

The aggressive competition originated in the international market has led companies to seek for strategies to stay on the market; therefore, in such a scenario, cluster has emerged as a phenomenon which enables companies to achieve greater competitiveness. However, a compilation to carry out a study on the Brazilian scientific production on local productive arrangements has been made necessary. Thus, this study aims to analyze the scientific production in Clusters which were published on scientific journals of management, economics and social sciences in Brazil, from 2001 to 2010. It has been understood that this goal is proved relevant because, through it, we become familiar with the landscape of local productive arrangements which will enable an advancement of the theory of Cluster. to carry out this study, a meta-analysis i n 57 articles extracted from 22 magazines was performed, by making use of parameters such as the identification of the frequency of approaches adopted in the articles, the origin of the used bibliographies, the most used authors frequency and their works, in as much as the frequency of pre-selected categories. Besides, content analysis of those pre-selected articles was carried out, plus the analyses of contribution of each article from seven categories ending with the creation of an agenda for future study. Among the results, we highlight the harmony between the content in the literature as well as in the articles, the evolution and the variety of subjects connected with the theme, the frequent used of international publications and the predominance of empiric articles applicable into 83 Brazilian Clusters.

Examining the Attitudes Toward Mathematics of Preservice Elementary School Teachers Enrolled in an Introductory Mathematics Methods Course and the Experiences That Have Influenced the Development of These Attitudes

Schackow, Joy Bronston 25 October 2005 (has links)
The reform movement in mathematics education has recognized affective factors as an important area where change is needed. This study examined the attitudes toward mathematics of preservice elementary teachers entering an introductory mathematics methods course. The methods course utilized constructivist instructional methods, such as the use of manipulatives, cooperative group work, problem solving, and calculators. Qualitative methods were used to explore participants attitudes toward mathematics and the experiences that have led to the development of these attitudes. The study sought to determine the extent to which preservice teachers attitudes toward mathematics changed during the methods course and the correlation between preservice teachers initial attitudes toward mathematics and their achievement in the methods course. Thirty-three university students enrolled in one section of a mathematics methods course for elementary education majors completed the Attitudes Toward Mathematics Inventory at the beginning of the semester and again during week 12 of the 15-week semester. Throughout the semester, participants submitted reflective journal entries in which they reflected on their attitudes toward and experiences with mathematics. The instructor responded to each journal. Participants initial survey scores indicated that they valued mathematics, but their scores for Self-Confidence, Enjoyment, and Motivation were somewhat negative. As a whole, participants showed a statistically significant positive change in attitude on the second survey. In individual interviews, participants who showed significant positive changes in attitude mentioned manipulatives, journals, and the organized format of the course as aspects of the methods course that had positively influenced their attitudes toward mathematics. A statistically significant positive correlation was found between initial attitude survey scores and the methods course departmental final examination, which was used as a measure of achievement. Through their journal entries and interviews, participants offered a clear view of the types of experiences that encouraged the development of positive and negative attitudes toward mathematics. These findings have implications for teacher educators who seek to improve the attitudes toward mathematics of preservice elementary school teachers and for mathematics teachers at all levels.

A study of unlearning IT Instruments in health organization

Hussain, Syed Tajammul January 2009 (has links)
Nothing has been that consistent as the change is for the knowledge revolution to nourish and cultivate. Different forms of changes are occurring in organizations with the aim to improve the output performances. Health organizations have been more attached to the changes and the consequences that are brought with such changes. Such consequences are primarily connected with concepts of unlearning and learning. Any form of the change if initiated in organization asks for new routines learning, tasks conductions and the organizational cultural revolution. These new routines have been occurring at individual and organizational levels. The unlearning at any level in the organizational culture can be performed through investigating a primary connection between the organizational and individual routines. At the individual level unlearning brings a number of psychological, cognitive, social and moral hurdles. These hurdles at individual level basically help the organizational unlearning to occur. All of the routines occurring at individual level encompass the necessary information that goes from lower levels to upward, strengthening and holding the organizational memory firm. This research was about to find how the health organizations unlearn the older practices and learn the new practices in IT change. This research had two streams i) finding whether there had been any connection between the organizational and individual unlearning in the cases of IT change, ii) For unlearning what kind of hurdles had been there at the individual level. Kalmar hospital pediatric department had been chosen for the empirical investigations. The research streams were about how and what parts which helped the researcher to go for the qualitative data gathering techniques. The Results showed there had been a very thin connectivity between the organizational and individual unlearning. The results revealed and unfolded that many of the new learning are occurring simultaneously with discarding the older ways of practices. The impression of absorbing the change with respect to the unlearning had been varied from person to person. There had been a numbers of individual hurdles observed at individual level of unlearning. Apart from them, many individual routines (performative tasks) had the primary connectivity with the organizational routines (Ostensive routines) and shaping and reshaping of the organizational memory. It is important to understand the unlearning notions with the type of change. In this research each of the interviewee had shared his thoughts of how the things could have been done differently by revealing the consequences with new learning. Literature suggests that for a profound and successful implementation of change more formal and informal trainings, clear strategy for shuffling the older individuals in the camp, more social and cognitive meetings and fast and quick actions in the cases of technical difficulties are to be taken. / Thesis
