The goal of the theses is to interpret a selected work of A. Lindgren in a theological way. Methodology of the practical part is built on the broad context of early Christian inculturation (interpretation of ancient culture in the Patristic Tradition, introduced in the work of Hugo Rahner), and of the modern philosophical-theological interpretation of secular culture (interpretation of Don Juan in the work of Karel Vrána). The personality of the author A. Lindgren is then described, with emphasis on certain biographical facts which are particularly important for the goal of the theses. The work of German theologian Thomas Vogel is introduced in the Czech environment for the first time. Thomas Vogel is well-known for his Christian interpretations of A. Lindgren?s books. In the final part the author interprets the book Mio, My Son from christological, ecclesiological and eschatological point of view.

This thesis aims to cover basic typological similarities and differences in the work of Karel Čapek and Jiří Mahen, specifically in their fairy-tales. First, we present the characteristics of fairy tales viewed from different perspectives - in terms of theories about its origin, in terms of shaping during the history, from the position of terminology and definition of the genre as a complex. We also create a summary of specifics for both types of fairy-tale - literary and oral, because we want to find and define the similarities in which is literary fairy-tale close to oral ones, while using Propp´s Morphofology of fairy-tales. In the next chapter we will try to reconstruct the concurrent resonance of both works. In the end we will create a summary of all achieved knowledge and their comparison.

Frantisek Gregora which is an outstanding contrabassist, composer and theorist. Frantisek Simandl which is one of the most famous professors at Konservatorium Wien or George Mraz which is worldwide double bass player. All they were born in South Czech, and my master diploma Thesis is dedicated to them. But this my work will not be only devoted to them, I will also talk about other famous musicians from South Czech as Jozef Houdek, and also about Petr Ries or Karel Sejna which are both members of Czech Philharmonic, because they were and they are important representatives of czech double bass school.

This diploma thesis titled ``my heart does not fly{\crq}{\crq} Jiří Orten in book illustration deals with the poetic works of Jiří Orten from the viewpoint of illustrating Orten{\crq}s poetry. The theoretical part of the thesis includes Orten{\crq}s biography and the description of his poetic works, which are important for the interpretation of the illustrations. An interview with Jaroslav Šerých, who is one of the illustrators of Orten{\crq}s poetry, has been made for a deeper understanding of the issue of illustrating Orten{\crq}s poems. The practical part of the thesis consists in creating collections of illustrations inspired by some Orten{\crq}s poems. The final versions of the illustrations are completed in typography. The main aim of this thesis is a creation of author{\crq}s own illustrations for Orten{\crq}s poems and writing an essay about it.

This diploma thesis brings the description of life and work one of the foremost intellectuals of twentieth century, philosopher Karel Kosík (1926-2003). Karel Kosík was a philosopher, who holds an idea of ``Open Marxism``. This intellectual trend was practically one and only system, which could in time of communism totality ask for dialogue with other intellectual movements. Except philosophy of history Kosík´s work go beyond to the areas of history, sociology, philosophical anthropology and literature. Kosík became the front ideological representative of Prague Spring. Kosík abid his ideals of ``socialism with human face`` even in the totalitarian times during years 1970-1989, when he was as enemy of regime removed from the academical world. After year 1989, when he returned for short at Charles University (1990-1992) he stayed devoted for the ``Open Marxism`` as a leading left-wing philosopher. He was forced to leave his position at university in 1992, allegedly because of his age. Diploma thesis is divided in five chapters. The first chapter describes Kosík´s philosophy in the contemporary context of marxism, the second one gives facts about Kosík´s life story, the third is focused on analysis of Kosík´s work, the fourth inquires into contemporary reception of the Kosík´s person and fifth chapter is intent on Kosík´s relevance and legacy for our presence and future. In Appendix are added copies of some archival materials provided by Literature archive of Museum of Czech Literature in Prague and Archive of Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic in Prague.

Master's thesis Transformations of the Church at the Time of the Incoming Enlightenment discusses the ongoing contradictions between faiths. Catholic confession, which initially imposed on all subjects and nobilities in the Roman Empire has been slowly losing its previous power. Its power has been decreasing in inverse proportion by the time Enlightenment spreaded to the Czech lands throughout Germany and Italy. It changed everything, what was perceived in some way, and in turn created a lot of new knowledge. Enlightenment appeared under the rule of Emperor Charles VI., although not as much as of his daughter Marie Terezie and of his grandson Emperor Joseph II. at all. Joseph II. transformed his entire empire based on his Enlightenment ideas. By the time of reforms the "liberation" of non-Catholics and the abolition of serfdom is gradually coming. The Church at this time was very fragmented and was creating new spiritual insights on the Catholic Church and Christianity itself.

The present work relates to the transfer of the inspirational elements used in St. Vitus Cathedral in Prague focusing on the hanging bolts in the sacristy of the cathedral. Two architects, Matthias of Arras and Peter Parler, participated in the construction of St. Vitus Cathedral in the 14th. Century Both of these builders were inspired by the most important buildings of contemporary Europe and the experience they gained was incorporated in the Prague cathedral. Through thorough research of the life of Matthias of Arras I am able to describe this builder as a unique personality who used a bold modern style for the construction of Prague cathedral and laid the foundation for cathedral architecture in Bohemia. Subsequent analysis of selected buildings constructed in the south of France during the 13th. and the first half of the 14th. centuries reveals many features which exhibit common characteristics with elements used on St. Vitus Cathedral, thus indicating the sources of inspiration for Prague cathedral. Both builders work meets in a space called "Old Sacristy" decorated with two unique pendant bosses. Thanks to exhaustive investigation it has been clarified that these bosses originated from southern France and Alsace. The content of the thesis is the surrealistic object and its reflection among the czech theorists. The first part of the thesis describes the problematic of surrealistic object and subject-objective relations in surrealism. Breton's philosophical approach is introduced, as well as his concept of object's crisis. The first part also outlines the meaning of found object, concept of convulsive beauty and Dali's paranoic-critical method as a source of surrealistic imagery. The second part of the thesis is focused on the reflection of surrealistic object presentation and on relations between arts and reality according to the concepts of Jan Mukařovský. The third part of the thesis is dedicated to conceptualization of aesthetics of Bohuslav Brouk in the light of surrealism. In this part the scope of Brouk's understanding of subject-objective relations is briefly described, as well his interpretation of surrealistic object.The last part of the thesis outlines the Teige's conception of surrealistic work in the terms of the sources of surrealistic imagination.

Předkládaná diplomová práce se soustřeďuje na proměny anglické zahraniční politiky od obnovení stuartovské monarchie roku 1660 do roku 1678. Zmíněné období je sledováno zejména krále Karla II. a jeho okolí dílčí zájem se soustředí na recepci jednotlivých kroků ze strany dalších domácích i zahraničních aktérů. Důraz je kladen hlavně na proměny vzájemných vztahů Francií a Nizozemím, pozornosti se těší též vztahy s Dánskem, Portugalskem, Španělskem a Švédskem, stejně jako pohled anglických politických elit. Anglická diplomacie je v této práci pojímána v kontextu vývoje anglické domácí politiky a s přihlédnutím k dění v ostatních evropských zemích. V omezené míře je nastíněn také hospodářský, konfesní a mezinárodněprávní rámec, ve kterém se anglická diplomacie zmíněných let pohybovala.

The mural paintings in Karlštejn castle in the light of the restoration effects This thesis focuses on the mural paintings located in Karlštejn castle. These mural paintings form a complex iconography of the entire castle, which weaves together all the sacred spaces of the castle, culminating in the Chapel in the Great Tower. The thesis deals with the mural paintings situated in two chapels in the first floor of the Imperial palace, so-called the Hall of Ancestors, where the genealogy of Charles IV. originally decorated this hall, the Church of the Virgin Mary and the Chapel of Saint Catherine inside the Marian Tower, on the walls of the staircase and in the Chapel of the Holy Cross, inside the Great Tower, not only in the light of the restoration effects, which may have affected and influenced the original appearance. Tracking of the origin of the re- paintings, followed by an iconographical analysis, draws from the restoration reports and archives connected with the last major reconstruction of the castle, which was led from Vienna by architects Fridrich Schmidt and Josef Mocker. I analyse their iconography and authorship, and evaluate the restoration efforts carried out in the last centuries.
