Pedagogové ve službách trůnu. Privátní učitelé následníků trůnu Rakousko-Uherska / Educators in the Service of the Throne. Private Teachers of the Austrian-Hungarian Imperial Heirs

Mádrová, Kamila January 2015 (has links)
- Educators in the Service of the Throne. Private Teachers of the Austrian- Hungarian Imperial Heirs Several potential successors were growing up during the lengthy reign of Emperor Franz Joseph I. But two of them, the Emperor's own son Crown Prince Rudolph and his nephew Franz Ferdinand, could never ascend to the throne due to their premature deaths. His grandnephew, Archduke Charles Franz Joseph, claimed the throne in the tense times of the First World War. For a would-be successor, not only military education was essential, but also language skills and such subjects as history, law and economy that the future ruler of a vast and ethnically diverse state was expected to have a good command of. This paper focuses on the lives of teachers who attended both the Emperor's and the Archduke's courts.

Karel Ančerl 1968-1973. Dokumentární monografie / Karel Ančerl 1968-1973. Documentary Monograph

Kadlec, Petr January 2015 (has links)
Karel Ančerl 1968-1973. A documentary monograph OBJECTIVES: The main objective of this thesis is to capture and describe the last five years (1968-1973) of life and artistic achievements of the conductor Karel Ančerl. This is a topic which has not been elaborated on an academic level yet. On the beginning of the captured period we find Ančerl to be a prominent member of the Czechoslovak music environment working as the chief conductor of the Czech Philharmonic. At the end of this period, Ančerl permanently lived and worked in Canada as the chief conductor of the Toronto Symphony. This fact is reflected in the two main topics of this thesis. First, there is the theme of process of following a qualitative change which the Toronto Symphony undertook during Karel Ančerl's leadership. Second, there is the relationship of the conductor to the Czechoslovak environment and its musical tradition. Main axis of the thesis is defined by a chronological following of the affairs of Karel Ančerl's life story in the given period. METHODOLOGY: Since the estate of Karel Ančerl has been missing, some of the important - maybe even the most important - documents still remain unknown. The story is being told with the help of supporting sources, just like is the correspondence between Ančerl and Ivan Medek, which covers...

Postoj Karla V. k odtržení Anglie od Říma. / A politics of Charles V towards seccession of England from Rome.

Danielová, Věra January 2018 (has links)
There have been many publications written about Henry VIII. It was his private life, because of which he primarily went down in history. Henry inherited the royal throne at a very young age. The Tudor dynasty ascended the English throne just for one generation. Henry's father ended the long−standing civil war. However, the fear of its continuation still remained. The most important task for the young king was to stabilize the position of the dynasty and to protect the throne against other pretenders. His whole life Henry lived in fear, that without a male heir, his family would be brought down. Catherine of Aragon became Henry's wife. There were many benefits from this union for England. The island kingdom was actively involved in continental policy. Nevertheless, Catherine was not able to give birth to an heir to England and fell into disgrace. Her nephew, Holy Roman Emperor, was the most powerfull ruler of the Christian Europe. Although he tried to prevent the annulment of their marriage by various means, he failed. Throughout his reign Charles was in a war conflict with the French king. He needed England like an ally against France even at the cost of his aunt's repudiation, which would remain without retaliation.

Národní listy 1910 - 1914 / Národní listy 1910-1914

Horská, Monika January 2018 (has links)
The thesis Národní listy 1910 - 1914 is focused on the period of ownership change of Národní listy, which was bought by Pražská akciová tiskárna (Prague share printing house) in 1910 from the family of the deceased founder Dr. Julius Grégr. The daily journal, which has retained a degree of independence, has become the official press authority of the political party Národní strana by this sale, mainly represented by Karel Kramář and Alois Rašín. In individual chapters, I am gradually analyzing the underlying materials from which I drew for my work by putting Národní listy in the context of the time and circumstances that led to the creation of the daily journal. The thesis is also aimed to the activities of the preparatory committee, which initiated and succeeded in obtaining the Národní listy for the mladočeská political party. The main part of the text deals with the business transaction itself, illustrates the financial backstage of the company Pražská akciová tiskárna, examines the documents that accompanied the purchase and its preparation and describes the subsequent modernisation of the whole enterprise.

No. of bitstreams: 1 arquivo total.pdf: 1239262 bytes, checksum: 7771a41858b9b6b813e1e57862b7c084 (MD5) Previous issue date: 2015-08-31 / This dissertation proposes a comparative analysis of metafiction in the novel The French lieutenant's woman, by John Fowles and in the film with the same name, directed by Karel Reisz, with screenplay by Harold Pinter. Our theoretical frame highlights some of the main studies published in the field of metafiction. We supplement the investigation of metafiction in the literary and filmic narrative in interface with other theoretical contributions, among them: narratology, filmic adaptation and some theoreticians of postmodernism. We adopt as a methodological principle the comparative investigation of some aesthetic devices and procedures associated with metafiction (self-reflexivity, self-consciousness, intertextuality, mise-en-abyme, among others) as long as they have been emphasized in the appreciation of some selected narrative categories (narrator, epigraph, character, reader/spectator) in the literary and filmic contexts. As a whole, our results consider metafiction as being a privileged, mediatory, logic, processual and theoretical-critical tool for the in-depth comprehension of the filmic and literary narratives.

Pavlíková, Anna January 2021 (has links)
This thesis deals with the work Liber de coronatione Karoli IV. imperatoris (Book on the coronation of Emperor Charles IV) from the middle of the 14th century. Its author Iohannes Porta de Annoniaco was a personal secretary and confidant of Cardinal Peter of Colombier who was commissioned by Pope Innocent VI to perform the imperial coronation of Charles IV in Rome in 1355. As an eyewitness, Iohannes Porta describes the cardinal's and Charles's journey to Rome, focuses in more detail on the events in Rome, and above all, the very act of coronation. The author also deals with the following events of the return journey of both the cardinal and the emperor. In addition, he included in his work copies of documents and correspondence related to the coronation. The text offers a valuable source of direct testimony about the course of Charles's Italian journey. The thesis aims to present a Czech translation of selected parts of Iohannes Porta's text, supplemented by explanatory notes, the purpose of which is to clarify certain factual or linguistic particularities of the text. The translation is accompanied by an introductory study. Its first part explains the historical context of Charles's imperial coronation, the next part focuses on the author and the overall characteristics of the work.

Jazykové prostředky vyjadřující dativ / Forms of Expressing Dativ in Czech and Japanese

Jandejsková, Viola January 2013 (has links)
This thesis disserts on problem of translation of dative relations in Karel Čapek's "Tales from two pockets" into Japanese. Goal of the thesis is to identify and describe means of expression of dative in Japanese translation and figure out if there are any differences in interpretaion and expressing dative in Czech and Japanese and what they are. Using method of excerption of example sentences and comparation of original with translated version, I organised the example sentences into six categories according to linguistic means of expressing equivalent of Czech dative used in Japanese translation. In these six categories, there are included both grammatical and semanthic expressions and idioms and phrases. The result is the detection of the main difference in degree of necessity to express a dative subject explicitly. There is a strong tendency of Japanese to implicit expression of dativ subject by means of special expressions of personal orientation, semanthics of predicate or context.
