Fantasiresan - ett musiskt undervisningsförsök i kommunikativ engelska

Frykman, Johannes January 2006 (has links)
The topic of this essay covers a communicative approach of English teaching in a playful and music-orientated perspective. The study was undertaken as a teaching experiment with three classes of children in their fourth year of school during a period of four weeks. Each class received 11 lessons. The purpose of the study is to portray and try to understand in what ways the experiment can be regarded as being meaningful to the children. The research questions are as follows:In what ways can children be inspired to participate in communicative practices in English? What is the importance of song and movement; play and dramatisation regarding children's inspiration to participate and make sense of communicative practices in English? In the analysis of the empirical material, four "sources of inspiration" were detected which are thought as representing how the children were inspired to participate and make sense of the teaching experiment: the character of the activity, the presentation of the activity, the scaffolding of the activity and the playful and music-orientated framework.
