Välkomna hem till oss : En studie om lokalisering av korttidsboenden på delningsplattformar och värdars motiv till att hyra ut sin bostad

Hedin, Fanny January 2021 (has links)
In recent years consumption patterns have drastically changed. With the development of the internet and technological innovations, there has been a growth of online networks where people can share goods and services between themselves. These peer-to-peer platforms have made it possible for private individuals to offer their accommodation to tourists in an easy way. Previous studies regarding short term-accommodations are mostly focused on the impacts of the sector in large cities. That is why this study aims to deepen the knowledge of the short-term accommodation sector in four municipalities in the High Coast region, that is an attractive rural tourism destination. The study is conducted with a mixed method approach and the purpose of this paper is: (1) to gain deeper understanding of the sector by comparing it to traditional accommodations such as hotels and hostels; and (2) to understand what motivates hosts to list their accommodation on sharing platforms and how they view their role as microentrepreneurs. The thesis has gathered data from the available sharing platforms, in order to map the localization of the accommodations and their capacity. Qualitative interviews were used to find out host motivations and their perceived role. Through the analysis seven sharing platforms were identified and Airbnb is the platform that offers the most accommodation and has the highest capacity compared to the other platforms.  The study also found that short-term accommodations and traditional accommodations follow similar localization patterns. By analyzing the interviews with the hosts some motivational aspects were identified which can be classified as mainly economic and social aspects. The economic aspects had dual origin: people who needed the income to support their everyday finances and people who just wished to do something fun with the money earned. The roles the hosts took varied more significantly. Some of them identify simply as entrepreneurs whilst others feel like ambassadors for the region because they actively provide visitors with information about places and activities. Rural areas are characterized by economic restructuring and a reduced population. The short-term accommodation sector may create opportunities for the region to increase tourism and thus create potential for economic growth.

Avvecklingen av Garnisonsstaden Eksjö : En studie om avveckling av stora verksamheter och dess påverkan / Discontinuation of the Eksjö garrison city.  : A study of discontinuation of large operations and its impacts.

Milton, Hugo January 2021 (has links)
The purpose of this paper was to investigate how a city is affected when one of the city's largest employers discontinues its operations. The discontinuation of one of Försvarsmaktens’s operations in Eksjö has formed the basis for the purpose of the study. The questions answered in the study are: how did Eksjö become a military city, how are cities affected by the military's presence and how are cities affected when a large business is discontinued. To answer these questions, both qualitative and quantitative methods have been used. To answer the study's question, texts and books have been read and analyzed and figures/data have also been compiled. The result showed that military activities have been conducted since the mid-1400s, since then areas around Eksjö city have conducted military activities. After the analysis of Eksjö's master planning, it emerged that Eksjö considers Försvarsmakten and its areas in its future planning and is therefore affected by the military's presence. Finally, it was also shown, after compiling the population and unemployment during the years of decommissioning, that Eksjö's population decreased in connection with decommissioning and that unemployment decreased.

PLATSMARKNADSFÖRING I KUMLA KOMMUN : En fallstudie om Kumla kommuns arbete för att attrahera nya invånare

Ottosson, Wilma, Strand, Tove January 2024 (has links)
I denna uppsats studeras platsmarknadsföring i Kumla kommun.

Tourism and Crisis Management Strategies : The extreme case of the Ahr valley

Mavromatis Klempin, Lukas January 2024 (has links)
Climate change induced extreme weather events, such as floods, are expected to increase in number of occurrences and impacts upon riverside and coastal communities. The following thesis set out to explore the changes to crisis management in the extreme case of the Ahr valley in Rhineland Palatinate, Germany. Drawing from academic literature a basis of understanding is established and deductive themes are derived to analyse development plans, regarding the tourism industry and the wider communities in the Ahr valley. Employing a thematic content analysis of development plans and reviews thereof, the findings suggest that crisis management, in the stages of pre-crisis planning, ad hoc responses, and long-term recovery strategies. The analysed development plans include tourism specific concepts and projects, as well as wider, regional recovery plans, following the flood of 2021. The findings illustrate an alignment with the theoretical understanding of potential strategies that may be employed to foster preparedness, resilience, and a development that exceeds the pre-crisis state. Tourism specific crisis management remains limited in its’ consideration throughout the documents, specifically relating to pre-crisis planning and ad hoc responses. Communication, though found to be geographically concentrated, is recognised to be of great importance throughout the documents. Although limited in scope, the thesis may offer some basis for further research projects, regarding the crisis management of tourism destinations.

Analys av Örnsköldsviks kommuns befolkningsutveckling : En kvantitativ analys av befolkningsutvecklingen i Örnsköldsviks kommun under 2016–2023

Hörnquist, Johan January 2024 (has links)
Örnsköldsvik’s municipality has during the period 2016 to 2023 had a slight decline in population. The publicly elected leaders of the municipality had set up a vision for 5000 people to move in before the year 2030. This paper aims to analyze and present data of different demographic variables such as total number of people moving in and out of the municipality in the ages of 20-29, average lifespan and average age, total number of births and deaths. Then calculate the dependency quota to see how that has changed over time. Apart from that, two localities will be studied closer and what types of service they have and how that might affect the population change. What the results showed was that the young adults in the ages 20-24 had higher number of people moving out than in. In the older age group of 25-29 it was the opposite where more people moved in. The results also showed that the dependency quota has increased over time, as well as the mean age has risen. Furthermore, it shows that the number of births has decreased over time. Overall, the study revealed that the municipality’s vision of 5000 more people to move in will be hard to achieve.
