Adaptive gain time delay Tanlock loop with frequency estimation and fast convergence.

Diego Paolo Ferruzzo Correa 05 May 2011 (has links)
In the last three decades, fully-digital Phase-Locked-Loops (PLLs) systems have received a lot of attention due to its advantages in comparison with analog PLLs. These advantages include improved transient response, reliability and also reduced size and cost. The PLLs are widely used in communications systems and many other digital applications. This dissertation is a contribution to the field of digital adaptive PLLs optimized to hardware implementation. Here, a new PLL structure is presented; the Frequency Sensing Adaptive TDTL is an improvement to the classic Time-Delay Tanlock structure, alowing fast convergence to the synchronous states, using fixed-point theorems and contractive maps to determine the gain conditions which ensure the rapid convergence and also providing wider bandwidth. The results of simulations are compared with those obtained theoretically in order to assess the loop performance.

The petroleum explotation on off-shore enviorments has differents dificulties, for example deeper water deths. In this context, the marine pipes are components of extreme importance, since they are the comunication between the production units and the subsea equipaments. This work studies the soil-structure interaction of steel cathenary risers using corotational formulation within static and dynamic approaches of structural calculation. The static approach focus on the non-linear static equilibrium of structures using the load control strategy. On the other side, the dynamic approach uses the Newmark time discretization to solve the non-linear dynamic equilibrium equation. This study shows the implementation of foundation with one and two parameter based on hipotheses of Winkler, Filonenko-Borodich and Pasternak in the riser structure and soil interaction context / Mestrado / Mecanica dos Sólidos e Projeto Mecanico / Mestre em Engenharia Mecânica

Bayesian estimation of discrete signals with local dependencies. / Estimation bayésienne de signaux discrets à dépendances locales

Majidi, Mohammad Hassan 24 June 2014 (has links)
The aim of this thesis is to study the problem of data detection in wireless communication system, for both case of perfect and imperfect channel state information at the receiver. As well known, the complexity of MLSE being exponential in the channel memory and in the symbol alphabet cardinality is quickly unmanageable and forces to resort to sub-optimal approaches. Therefore, first we propose a new iterative equalizer when the channel is unknown at the transmitter and perfectly known at the receiver. This receiver is based on continuation approach, and exploits the idea of approaching an original optimization cost function by a sequence of more tractable functions and thus reduce the receiver's computational complexity. Second, in order to data detection under linear dynamic channel, when the channel is unknown at the receiver, the receiver must be able to perform joint equalization and channel estimation. In this way, we formulate a combined state-space model representation of the communication system. By this representation, we can use the Kalman filter as the best estimator for the channel parameters. The aim in this section is to motivate rigorously the introduction of the Kalman filter in the estimation of Markov sequences through Gaussian dynamical channels. By this we interpret and make clearer the underlying approximations in the heuristic approaches. Finally, if we consider more general approach for non linear dynamic channel, we can not use the Kalman filter as the best estimator. Here, we use switching state-space model (SSSM) as non linear state-space model. This model combines the hidden Markov model (HMM) and linear state-space model (LSSM). In order to channel estimation and data detection, the expectation and maximization (EM) procedure is used as the natural approach. In this way extended Kalman filter (EKF) and particle filters are avoided.

Manesco, Luis Fernando 09 August 1996 (has links)
ldentification and Control of dynamic systems using Artificial Neural Networks has been widely investigated by many researchers in the last few years, with special attention to the application of these in nonlinear systems. ls this works, a study on the utilization of a particular type of Artificial Neural Networks, a Time Delay Multi Layer Perceptron, in the state estimation of the fermentative phase of the Reichstein process of the C vitamin production. The use of Artificial Neural Networks can be justified by the presence of problems, such as uncertain and unmeasurable state variables and process non-linearity, and by the fact that a conventional model that works on all phases of the fermentative processes is very difficult to obtain. The efficiency of the Levenberg Marquadt algorithm on the acceleration of the training process is also studied. Also, a comparison is performed between the studied Artificial Neural Networks and an extended Kalman filter based on a non-structured model for this fermentative process. The analysis of lhe Artificial Neural Networks is carried out using lhe mean square errors taking into consideration lhe activation function and the number of units presents in the hidden layer. A set of batch experimental runs, interpolated to the desired time interval, is used for training and validating the Artificial Neural Networks.

Transducteurs ultra fins à base de polymères conducteurs : fabrication, caractérisation et modélisation / Ultrathin conducting polymer transducers : fabrication, characterization, and modeling

Nguyen, Ngoc Tan 21 September 2018 (has links)
Recently, ultrathin poly (3,4-ethylenedioxythiophene) (PEDOT) – based ionic actuators have overcome some initial obstacles to increase the potential for applications in microfabricateddevices. While microfabrication processing of trilayer actuators that involve no manual handling has been demonstrated, their mechanical performances remain limited for practical applications. The goal of this thesis is to optimize the transducers in thin films fabrication by micro technologies, fully characterize the electrochemomechanical properties of the resulting trilayers, and develop a model to simulate their bidirectional electromechanical ability (actuation and sensing). At first, ultrathin PEDOT-based trilayer actuators are fabricated via the vapor phase polymerization of 3,4-ethylenedioxythiophene combining with the layer by layer synthesis process. This constitutes the first full characterization of ionic PEDOT-based microactuators operating in air of such a small thickness (17 μm) having bending deformation and output force generation of 1% and 12 μN respectively. Secondly, electrical, electrochemical and mechanical properties of the resulting microactuators have been thoroughly studied. Non-linear characterization was extended to volumetric capacitance dependence on voltage window. Damping coefficient was characterized for the first time. Thirdly, a nonlinear multi-physics model was proposed as a method of simulating actuator and sensor responses in trilayers, represented using a Bond Graph formalism, and was able to implement all of the characterized parameters. The concordance between the simulations and the measurements confirmed the accuracy of the model in predicting the non-linear dynamic behavior of the actuators. In addition, the information extracted from the model also provided an insight into the critical parameters of the actuators and how they affect the actuator efficiency, as well as the energy distribution. Finally, a nouveau bidirectional electromechanical linear model was introduced to simulate the sensing ability of the trilayer transducer and was confirmed via experimental results in both frequency and time domains of a sinusoidal input displacement. The resulting actuators and the proposed models are promising for designing, optimizing, and controlling of the future soft microsystem devices where the use of polymer actuators should be essential.

Σπανού, Ειρήνη 12 December 2008 (has links)
Τhe fractal dimension is a powerful tool in the analysis of electroencephalograms. In this work, four methods of estimating the fractal dimension of electroencephaolographic recordings of epileptic patients directly in the time domain are analyzed and compared. The analysis is performed over both synthetic data and real recordings of epileptic patients. The effects of the type of recordings, the window size and the frequencies in the passband filter are examined. This study shows that the four methods detect the beginning of the epileptic seizures, while the statistic analysis proves that some of these methods can be used for the prediction of the next seizures.

Dynamique et contrôle d'un marché financier avec une approche système multi-agents / Dynamics and control of financial market with a multi-agent system approach

Lucas, Iris 18 July 2018 (has links)
This thesis suggests reflection in studying financial markets through complex systems prism.First, an original mathematic description for describing agents' decision-making process in case of problems affecting by both individual and collective behavior is introduced. The proposed method is particularly applicable when studied system is characterized by non-linear, path dependent and self-organizing interactions. An application to financial markets is proposed by designing a multi¬agent system based on the proposed formalization. In this application, we propose to implement a computational agent-based financial market in which the system is described in both a microscopie and macroscopic levels are proposed. The agents' decision-making process is based on fuzzy logic rules and the price dynamic is purely deten-ninistic according to the basis matching rules of a central order book as in NYSE-Euronext-Paris. We show that, while putting most parameters under evolutionary control, the computational agent- based system is able to replicate several stylized facts of financial time series (distributions of stocks returns showing a heavy tau l with positive excess kurtosis and volatility clustering phenomenon).Thereafter, with numerical simulations we propose to study three system's properties: self-organization, resilience and robustness. First a method is introduced to quantify the degree of selforganization which ernerges in the system and shows that the capacity of self-organization is maximized when the agents' behaviors are heterogeneous. Secondly, we propose to study the system's response when market shock is simulated. in both cases, numerical results are presentedI and analyzed, showing how the global market behavior emerges from specific individual behavior interactions. Our results notably show that the emergence of collective herding behavior when market shock occurs leads to a temporary disruption on the system self-organization. Finaily, numerical simulations highlight that our artificial financial market can be able to absorb strong mono-shock but be lead to the rupture by low but repeated perturbations.

Über die Modellierung und Simulation zufälliger Phasenfluktuationen

Scheunert, Christian 25 June 2010 (has links)
