Segmentace obrazů listů dřevin / Segmentation of images with leaves of woody species

Valchová, Ivana January 2016 (has links)
The thesis focuses on segmentation of images with leaves of woody species. The aim was to investigate existing image segmentation methods, choose suitable method for given data and implement it. The chosen method should segment existing datasets, photographs from cameras as well as photographs from lower-quality mobile phones. Inputs are scanned leaves and photographs of various quality. The thesis summarizes the general methods of image segmentation and describes own algorithm that gives us the best results. Based on the histogram, the algorithm decides whether the input is of sufficient quality and can be segmented by Otsu algorithm or is not and should be segmented using GrowCut algorithm. Next, the image is improved by morphological closing and holes filling. Finally, only the largest object is left. Results are illustrated using generated output images. Determinants of Retaining a PGA TOUR Card

Shuman, Matthew 01 January 2018 (has links)
Each year the top 125 players on the PGA TOUR money list receive fully exempt status for the upcoming season. Past literature looks at the determinants that led to success for the top professionals on the PGA TOUR. Instead, I look at the determinants of finishing inside the top 125 on the PGA TOUR money list and retaining one’s TOUR card. I analyze the difference both statistically and in future earnings between finishing 100-125th on the money list and 126-150th. This paper finds that greens and regulation and putting have the largest effect on retaining a TOUR card while driving distance and accuracy are significant but at a much lower level. Future studies should look into the tradeoff between playing on the PGA TOUR and less marque tours like the Web.com as it can affect one’s earnings greatly.

Väntan på organtransplantation : En litteraturstudie / Waiting for an organ transplant : A literature study

Blomqvist, Fanny, Ottosson, Isabel January 2020 (has links)

Patienters upplevelser i väntan på livsviktigt organ : En litteraturstudie / Patients´ experiences while waiting for vital organs

Hansson, Josefine, Tengdahl, Nina January 2020 (has links)
Background: Organ transplantation is an established form of treatment applied worldwide, which saves many lives. There is however, an imbalance between supply and demand for organs, which means that the patients on the waiting list for organs often have to stay there for a long time. In worst case, they die before a suitable organ is found. Patients waiting for vital organs are therefore in a very exposed situation and this causes many feelings. Aim: The aim of the study was to describe patients´ experiences while waiting for vital organs. Method: A literature based study analysing twelve qualitative studies, that based onpatient interviews describe the patients' experiences while waiting for vital organs. Results: The result showed that patients felt bound, both physically and mentally. They experienced anxiety and stress during the long wait for an organ but had also hope forrecovery and wished to be able to return to a normal life. Information and support were an important part of getting through the wait. Two themes appeared during the analysis; To hope and to understand, the mixed emotions and To be bound and to be in need. Conclusion: All patients' experiences were individual, although there are many similarities in how they experienced waiting for vital organs, especially regarding emotions. Hope was a prerequisite for patients while waiting for a vital organ, as it servesas a driving force to hold out during their uncertain life situation.

Tuvesson, Fredrik January 2012 (has links)
