PIP - UM ESTUDO INTERTEXTUAL (DISSERTAÇÃO COMPLETA).pdf: 742350 bytes, checksum: 180153cce3b278388400fd09dfe773eb (MD5) / FAPESB / Esta dissertação busca identificar e analisar os diversos vínculos intertextuais presentes no romance neozelandês O Sr. Pip (2007), de Lloyd Jones, em especial aqueles estabelecidos com o romance vitoriano Grandes Esperanças, escrito por Charles Dickens, em 1861. A pesquisa desenvolve-se orientada pelo conceito de intertextualidade, derivado dos estudos do filósofo russo Mikhail Bakhtin e cunhado por Julia Kristeva, por volta de 1960, na França. Nessa direção, a noção de texto se expande para abrigar não só o texto literário, mas também os variados discursos sociais que definem o contexto de produção de uma obra, como política, religião e a própria língua falada. Evidencia-se, por conseguinte, a teia de diálogo e remissões que se tece no âmbito textual, possibilitando a problematização de conceitos mais tradicionalistas como originalidade e autenticidade. Além disso, a pesquisa debruça-se sobre a acentuada marca da tradição oral na narrativa de O Sr. Pip, apontado pelo próprio autor como fio condutor de sua narrativa. Assim, com base em referenciais teóricos da área de estudos de oralidade como Walter Ong (1998), Erick Havelock (1996) e Paul Zumthor (1993; 2014), busca-se compreender como se opera o discurso oral e de que forma a narrativa de O Sr. Pip, bem como a de Grandes Esperanças se constrói com elementos deste discurso. Vista como um dos intertextos presentes entre os dois romances, a oralidade torna-se um elemento importante na medida em que desloca a narrativa canônica do texto dickensiano, baseada na leitura de livros, para uma contação de histórias, recriando assim o romance inglês em um movimento desconstrutor, possibilitando a problematização da noção de cânone literário. / This study aims at identifying and analysing the various intertexts found in the New Zealand novel Mr. Pip (2007) by Lloyd Jones, especially those that refer to the Victorian novel Great Expectations, written by Charles Dickens in 1861. This research is guided by the concept of intertextuality derived from Russian philosopher Mikhail Bakhtin’s studies and further developed by Julia Kristeva, around 1960, in France. Thus, the notion of text broadens in order to refer not only to the literary text but also to other social discourses as politics, religion and the spoken language itself. Consequently, the whole network of dialogue and references that operates at the textual level becomes clearer, questioning more conservative concepts such as originality and authenticity. Plus, this research addresses the theme of orality within the narrative of Mr. Pip, which Jones himself affirms to be central to his novel. Therefore, guided by the study of scholars from within the field of Orality and Literacy such as Walter Ong (1998), Erick Havelock (1996) and Paul Zumthor (1993; 2014), this work seeks to understand how the oral discourse operates and how the narratives of Mr. Pip as well as of Great Expectations are shaped by oral features. The oral language, considered here as one of the intertexts between these two novels, becomes then an important element as it transposes the canonical narrative of the Dickensian text, based on the reading of books, into an environment of story-telling, recreating the English novel in a deconstructive movement and questioning the notion of literary canon.

O presente trabalho tem por objetivo demonstrar a influência da Arquitetura Japonesa Tradicional sobre o Ocidente, evidenciando as relações diretas das casas tradicionais japonesas com as primeiras casas modernistas ocidentais do início do século XX, através da analise de seus conceitos,de suas técnicas e de suas composições. Primeiramente, mostra-se a história, a concepção espacial e os elementos da Arquitetura Japonesa Tradicional, para se ter a compreensão de como os japoneses percebem, distintamente do Ocidente, o mundo físico e a sua dimensão psicológica. A seguir são selecionadas algumas obras do arquiteto ocidental Frank Lloyd Wright que demonstram as influências recebidas através do seu contato com o Japão, traçando assim um paralelo entre Arquitetura Japonesa Tradicional e Arquitetura Moderna Ocidental. Por fim, procura-se o entendimento de um novo produto gerado, quando as expressões e as técnicas japonesas tradicionais se fundem com as formas e com os espaços ocidentais. / This paper aims on demonstrating the influence of Traditional Japanese Architecture on the West, pointing out the direct reletions between the Tradicional Japanese Houses and the first modern houses in the begining of 20th century, through the analysis of its concepts, techniques and composition. Firstly the history, the spatial conception and the elements of the Tradicional Japanese Architecture are presented in order to understand how japanese perceive the physical world and its psychological aspects. Some work of western architect Frank Lloyd Wright,which demmonstrate the influences of his contact with Japan, are selected to follow, therefore stablishins a paralel between Japanese Traditional and modern western architecture. Finaly, an understanding of a new product is pursued, when the tradidional japanese expression and technics merge with western form and space.

Segundo Wright, a Arquitetura Orgânica possui princípios, onde se baseiam e se fundamentam os projetos. A análise foi realizada pelo método de investigação gráfica, ou seja, por diagramas e para tanto adotamos itens de análise que favorecessem o estudo sistemático dos princípios de sua Arquitetura Orgânica, a fim de criar diagramas sintéticos interpretativos. Foram selecionadas quatorze obras construídas significativas que representam cerca de 400 residências construídas no total, e que fora dividida em três fases: Residências Prairie, Textile Block e Usonia. Para o melhor entendimento das análises dos projetos na primeira e segunda parte da dissertação foram elaborados textos que estabelecem uma base teórica fundamental a partir de escritos do próprio arquiteto, teóricos, críticos e seus clientes e aprendizes. As análises individuais geraram diagramas interpretativos que revelam como foram concretizados, em formas e espaços arquitetônicos, os princípios de sua Arquitetura. Os diagramas revelam tanto características da individualidade de cada projeto e suas peculiaridades, como a linguagem presente no conjunto da obra de cada fase. As tabelas comparativas revelam as transformações do projeto residencial de Wright em cada fase, bem como em todo o conjunto de sua obra, onde fica claro o amadurecimento e consolidação de uma arquitetura genuinamente norteamericana. A análise por comparação torna clara a riqueza e variedade de uma arquitetura coerente e fundamentada nos mesmos princípios. Essa arquitetura humanista contribuiu ao mesmo tempo para uma nova conceituação do espaço sem desrespeitar a natureza, a região e os indivíduos / Abstract: The main purpose of this dissertation is the analysis of residential projects of modern architect Frank Lloyd Wright by the graphical method. According to Wright, Organic Architecture has principles, where projects are based on. The analysis was carried through by the graphic method of investigation and diagrams. For that reason, we adopt some analysis item that privileged the systematic study of the principles of his Organic Architecture, in order to create interpretative synthetic diagrams. Fourteen significant residences had been selected among all the construct projects, which represent about 400 residences constructed in the total, and divided in three phases: Prairie, Textile Block and Usonia residences. For finest understanding of the analyses of the projects in first and the second part of the dissertation, texts had been elaborated which establish a basic theoretical base from writings of the architect, theoreticians, critics and his customers and apprentices. The individual analyses had created interpretative diagrams that disclose how they were materialized, in forms and architectural spaces, the principles of his Architecture. The diagrams in such a way disclose of the individuality of each project and its peculiarities, as the present language in the set of the projects of each phase. The comparative tables disclose the transformations of the residential project of Wright in each phase, as well as in all the set of each project, where we can clearly notice the mature and consolidation of a genuinely North American architecture. The comparative analysis brings clear the wealth and variety of a coherent architecture and based on the same principles. This humanist architecture contributed at the same time for a new conceptualization of the space without disrespecting the nature, the region and the individuals / Mestrado / Mestre em Artes

The diploma thesis deals with one of the oldest world's providers of unique insurance coverage Lloyd's of London. The thesis presents date information, the influence of past events as well as possible future tendencies. Introduction part is focused on the evaluation of the UK insurance market and emphasis is placed primarily on separate position of Lloyd's. The second chapter is devoted to actual character of Lloyd's, which is very specific. It describes the substance of its operation, the principles of capital security and a wide range of insurance. The thesis also responds to the last 25 years, which was for Lloyd's period of many catastrophic events, changes and innovations that have had a major impact on the system of regulation and structure of its members. The final section contains information about future development.

Projektet har tillkommit på uppdrag av Ölandsfärgan AB, målet var att utreda möjligheterna för parallelldrift ombord på rederiets fartyg M/S Solsund. Frågeställningen besvarades genom att ta fram ett förslag på en installation för parallelldrift. Kraven som ställdes i projektdirektivet var att installationen skulle följa gällande regelverk för denna typ av installation samt att elscheman över förslaget togs fram i enlighet med IEC-standard. Ett tidigare examensarbete skrivit av Ottosson & Nordin (2015) där de har dokumenterat M/S Solsunds huvudinstrumenttavla användes för att kartlägga installationen. En besiktning av komponenterna ombord M/S Solsund genomfördes med avsikten att undersöka skicket och den fysiska layouten av dessa. I samband med besiktningen hade ägaren en förevisning av fartyget för att ge kunskap om den dagliga driften ombord. Förevisningen gav en bredare uppfattning över förutsättningarna för hur en framtida installation skulle kunna se ut. En viktig parameter i projektet har varit att fastställa vilket regelverk som gällde för M/S Solsund vilket i sin tur skulle användas för att utarbeta ett förslag på installationen. Utredningen ledde till att förslaget skulle följa klassningsbolaget Germanischer Lloyd regelverk för Elektriska installationer, I-1-3 Electrical installations. (GL I-1-3). Vid utvärderingen av nuvarande installation och regelverk konstaterades att en modifikation av befintlig installation var nödvändig för att uppfylla kraven i projektdirektivet. Det konstruerades ett förslag på ett nytt övervakningsskåp för generatorerna innehållande nya komponenter som både kompletterade de generatorskydd som utvärderingen kom fram till fattades samt ersatte de skydd som var i det gamla övervakningsskåpet. De kompletterande komponenter som förslaget vill installera till varje generator var ett autosynkroniseringsdon som sköter in och utfasningen av generatorerna. Ett lastfördelningsdon som sköter både lasten vid normal drift och avlastningen vid utfasning av aktuell generator. Synkroniseringsskåp för indikering vid manuell infasning samt tre skyddsrelä innehållande överströms- och kortslutnings skydd, över- och under voltskydd samt ett överlastskydd som trippar non essential last ifall förbrukningen blir för hög. De kompletterande ritningar som ritades över denna installation återfinns som bilaga 3 och följer IEC standarden och är tänkta att användas som underlag vid en eventuell installation. Resultatet blev två layoutscheman och fem kretsscheman / The project has been commissioned by Ölandsfärjan AB, to investigate the possibilities of paralleloperation of the auxiliary engines onboard the companies' vessel M/S Solsund. A draft over theinstallation was made after the requirements given by the projects directives. The requirements in thedirectives was as following: The installation should comply with the prevailing regulations for thistype of installation and the electrical schematics designed to comply with the IEC standard.A background check was done before the commission started. In combination of inspections on boardto get the information about the condition and the physical layout of the components onboard,electrical drawings made in earlier project at Kalmar maritime academy was used to examine theship's main switchboard. To gain knowledge of how the owner operates the ship and to get ideas forthe installation, a demonstration was given by the owner. An important variable to this project was todetermine which regulations applied to this kind of ship. The investigation concluded that the shipsinstallation should follow classification company Germanischer Lloyd regulations for electricalinstallations.After evaluating the current installation and regulations, the conclusion was, that modification ofexisting installation was needed to fulfill the requirements of the project directives. The suggestedproduct to be manufactured was a new monitoring cabinet existing of new protection relays, howwould replace both the old protections in previous cabinet and adds supplemented protections neededfor this kind of installation. Components to be installed in the new suggestion are following: Autosynchronizer, Load sharer relay with included unloading and a reverse power protection.Synchroscope used when manually synchronize the auxiliary engines, and three protection relays; one3 phase over current and short circuit relay, one voltage relay (over and under) and at last one powerrelay for the bus bar used for tripping of non essential consumers.All constructed electrical drawings follows the IEC-standard and are intended to be used as a basis forthe installation. The drawings that were constructed are the following: - Layout diagram of the mainswitchboard and the new monitoring cabinet. - Circuit diagrams for both generators included themonitoring cabinets, and a part list over the components in the electrical schemes. All drawings wereconstructed in the computer program Easy EL.

Magister Artium - MA / Despite the loss of speakers of |xam, one of the 28 Khoisan languages once spoken across Southern Africa, a part of the heritage of these speakers can be found in predominantly two archives: that of Wilhelm H. I. Bleek and Lucy Lloyd (1911) and Gideon R. von Wielligh (1919-1921). The archives form the heart of Bushman* Studies, and has long since received attention in, amongst others, anthropology, literature, and linguistics. This study presents an investigation into the ethical views of the |xam, an investigation which, with the single exception of the studies of Antjie Krog (2004-), has not been undertaken in a philosophical tradition. Through a comparative study of texts across archival boundaries, I engage critically with the ethical views of the |xam, specifically the phenomenological nature of these views. To this end, I use the hermeneutical approach in African philosophy, an approach which focuses on identifying and analysing concepts in texts. The approach to ‘reading’ |xam texts remains, however, a burning issue, and the limit to which disciplinary boundaries are appropriate, is debatable (Wessels 2010). Consequently, and as a result of the relative density of the available texts, insights from anthropology, literature, linguistics and rock art are incorporated within the comparative study. I secondly bring the ethical views which are identified through the comparative analysis into conversation with the dominant ethical framework in African philosophy, namely Ubuntu. Where Ubuntu as been ‘read’ through various lenses (Van Niekerk 2013), a phenomenological approach is absent. Further, where Ubuntu, African ethics broadly, is generally regarded as humanist, a salient ecological consciousness is present in the |xam views. A comparison between Ubuntu and the |xam views therefore deepens the discourse around African ethics in general, and further provides insights into the unique nature of the ethical views of the |xam in particular. Through this I attempt to add value both to Bushman Studies and African philosophy, whilst highlighting an important voice unique to Africa which could be added to the burning discussion around ecological decay in the time of the Anthropocene.
