Monoidal equivalence of locally compact quantum groups and application to bivariant K-theory / Equivalence monoïdale de groupes quantiques localement compacts et application à la K-théorie bivariante

Crespo, Jonathan 20 November 2015 (has links)
This dissertation deals with the notion of monoidal equivalence of locally compact quantum groups and its applications. We generalize to the case of regular locally compact quantum groups, two important resultst concerning the actions of compact quantum groups. Let G1 and G2 be two regular locally compact quantum groups monoidally equivalent. We develop an induction procedure and we build an equivalence of the categories, whose objects are the continuous actions of G1 and G2 on C*-algebras. As an application of this result, we obtain a canonical equivalence of the categories of equivariant KK-theory for actions of G1 and G2. We introduce and investigate a notion of actions on C*-algebras of mesured quantum groupoids on a finite basis. The proof of the second equivalence relies on a version of the Takesaki-Takai duality theorem for continuous actions of measured quantum groupoids on a finite basis. We conclude by defining and studying a notion of equivariant Hilbert modules for actions of mesured quantum groupoids on a finite basis.

The residually weakly primitive and locally two-transitive rank two geometries for the groups PSL(2, q)

De Saedeleer, Julie 15 October 2010 (has links)
The main goal of this thesis is a contribution to the classification of all incidence geometries
of rank two on which some group PSL(2,q), q a prime power, acts flag-transitively.
Actually we require that the action be RWPRI (residually weakly primitive) and (2T)1
(doubly transitive on every residue of rank one). In fact our definition of RWPRI requires
the geometry to be firm (each residue of rank one has at least two elements) and RC
(residually connected).

The main goal is achieved in this thesis.
It is stated in our "Main Theorem". The proof of this theorem requires more than 60pages.

Quite surprisingly, our proof in the direction of the main goal uses essentially the classification
of all subgroups of PSL(2,q), a famous result provided in Dickson’s book "Linear groups: With an exposition of the Galois field theory", section 260, in which the group is called Linear Fractional Group LF(n, pn).

Our proof requires to work with all ordered pairs of subgroups up to conjugacy.

The restrictions such as RWPRI and (2T)1 allow for a complete analysis.

The geometries obtained in our "Main Theorem" are bipartite graphs; and also locally 2-arc-transitive
graphs in the sense of Giudici, Li and Cheryl Praeger. These graphs are interesting in their own right because of
the numerous connections they have with other fields of mathematics. / Doctorat en Sciences / info:eu-repo/semantics/nonPublished

模糊數據的局部加權回歸 / Locally weighted regression of fuzzy data

陳帥 Unknown Date (has links)
關鍵字: 模糊理論 模糊回歸分析 局部加權 / Objective: This paper aims to construct a new fuzzy regression model to solve a more complex fuzzy regression problem. Method: Build a new model by promoting the idea of locally weighted regression; Using simulated data to compare the new model with other models. Conclusion: The fuzzy membership degree concept combined with the locally weighted regression method makes the fuzzy regression theory have more applications. Originality: At present, the main idea in the field of fuzzy regression is to construct models by means of linear programming. In this paper, a new model of fuzzy regression is constructed from the perspective of locally weighted method for the first time. Keyword: Fuzzy theory、 Fuzzy regression、Locally weighted method

Perceptions on the role of locally owned small, medium and micro enterprises in the economic development of Rustenburg, South Africa

Chiromo, Samuel John 07 1900 (has links)
The primary objective of this study was to investigate the perceptions on the role of locally owned small, medium and micro enterprises (SMMEs) in the economic development of Rustenburg, South Africa. The study was motivated by theoretical findings that SMMEs are the cornerstone of economic development; yet, the levels of unemployment and poverty were still escalating in Rustenburg. This prompted the researcher to investigate the perceptions on the role of locally owned small, medium and micro enterprises in the economic development of Rustenburg, South Africa, and the extent of their contribution. The study adopted a descriptive research design and a quantitative approach to determine the role of SMMEs and the extent of their contribution to the economic development of Rustenburg. The study focused on Rustenburg, which had 223 registered SMMEs at the time. The registered 213 SMMEs were identified as the target population of the study, and 10 registered SMMEs participated in the pilot study. A structured questionnaire was used as a data collection instrument. Two hundred and thirteen (213) copies of questionnaires were self-administered. One hundred and eighty-two (182) completed questionnaires were returned, which represented an 85% response rate. Descriptive and inferential statistics were used to analyse the data by utilising the Statistical Analysis Software (SAS). Statistical techniques used in this study comprised frequency analysis, analysis of variance (ANOVA), Pearson’s correlation test, and Tukey’s studentised range test. Empirical findings revealed that SMMEs play a significant role in contributing to the economic development, employment generation and poverty reduction of Rustenburg, with SMMEs in the mining sector making a greater and more significant contribution than other sectors. The study concluded that SMMEs perform a critical role in contributing to the economic development of Rustenburg, especially those in the mining sector. Recommendations were that government should consider increasing the development programmes for SMMEs that operate in Rustenburg, invest in SMMEs’ technology and provide practical SMMEs development training. In addition, government should provide sufficient funding for SMMEs and improve the regulatory framework that governs the SMME sector. This particular study focused on SMMEs operating in Rustenburg. Another study could be conducted on foreign-owned SMMEs. / Business Management / M. Com. (Business Management)
