Energeticky úsporná budova mateřské školy v Holubicích / Energy efficient building of kindergarten in Holubice

Čtvrtečka, Václav Unknown Date (has links)
The aim of the master project is to design a kindergarten in Holubice, Czechia. The building has three parts. First includes classrooms and auxiliary premises (locker rooms, washrooms, etc.), second technical and staff facilities and the third one includes a gym with equipment storage. The first two parts are designed using load-bearing masonry, reinforced concrete floor slab and flat roof. Gym has a load-bearing system combining masonry and structural frame covered by a semi-circular flat roof. The whole building is equipped with HVAC systems. Heating energy is supplied by two condensing gas boilers. Air quality will be maintained by an air conditioning system. Photovoltaic panels are placed on the roof to support electricity. Rainwater will be collected in accumulation tanks and further used for flushing on the toilets and garden irrigation. The project was developed using AutoCAD (drawings) and Revit. The secondary task of the work is an extensive measurement of the CO2 concentration in a room with forced ventilation. The aim is to combine automatic regulation of forced ventilation, depending on the concentration of CO2. The result of such regulation is higher air comfort, service life of individual HVAC members and saving electricity.

Performance development of adolescent swimmers : a Mindfulness - Acceptance - Commitment (MAC) approach

Leon, Lauren Margaret January 2013 (has links)
For the past three decades performance development in sport has been steered by traditional Psychological Skills Training (PST) programmes. However, in the last decade, the Mindfulness-Acceptance-Commitment (MAC) approach to performance development in sport has been introduced. To date, there is limited research on the MAC approach and there are currently no published studies in South Africa. The goal of this study was to explore the participant’s experiences of the MAC programme with reference to what they learnt through the programme, how they applied their learning to their swimming and how they transferred their learning to their lives. This study is an Interpretive Phenomenological view of five adolescent swimmers (two female and three male) at the High Performance Centre (hpc), in South Africa (SA). The participants partook in a one-day swimmingspecific MAC programme and thereafter, semi-structured interviews were conducted with the participants. An interpretive Phenomenological Analysis (IPA) was used for analysing the data gained from the interviews. The findings indicate that the participants had experiences which were consistent, inconsistent or unique in relation to the literature review. / Dissertation (MA)--University of Pretoria, 2013. / lk2014 / Psychology / MA / Unrestricted

Performance development of adolescent athletes : a Mindfulness - Acceptance - Commitment (MAC) approach

Dykema, Ellie January 2013 (has links)
This study explored the subjective interpretations of five adolescent athletes who experienced a sport-specific version of the Mindfulness-Acceptance-Commitment (MAC) approach. The MAC approach is an alternative sport psychology intervention to more traditional control-driven approaches, such as Psychological Skills Training (PST). An in-depth qualitative study was conducted at the High Performance Centre (hpc) of the University of Pretoria (UP). The sport-specific MAC programme was developed for the sport of athletics. The programme was facilitated to five adolescent athletes who participate in the sport of athletics. Semi-structured interviews were conducted after the participants experienced the programme. The interviews were based on written reflections provided by participants during the programme. The research position for this study was phenomenology, and specifically Interpretive Phenomenology (IP). Interpretive Phenomenological Analysis (IPA) was used to analyse the material. The results revealed that there was only one theme that was common to all five participants. Furthermore, the results portrayed diversity amongst the participant experiences and subjectivity in their interpretations of the MAC approach. The results displayed how some themes are consistent with MAC-related literature, and how other themes contradict the literature. Additionally, some themes have not been reported in MAC literature before. Thus, the study contributed to the expansion of literature on the MAC approach. / Dissertation (MA)--University of Pretoria, 2013. / lk2014 / Psychology / MA / Unrestricted

Methods and Algorithms to Enhance the Security, Increase the Throughput, and Decrease the Synchronization Delay in 5G Networks

Mazin, Asim 11 March 2019 (has links)
This dissertation presents several novel approaches to enhance security, and increase the throughput, and decrease the delay synchronization in 5G networks. First, a new physical layer paradigm was proposed for secure key exchange between the legitimate communication parties in the presence of a passive eavesdropper was presented. The proposed method ensures secrecy via pre-equalization and guarantees reliable communications using Low-Density Parity Check (LDPC) codes. One of the main findings of this research is to demonstrate through simulations that the diversity order of the eavesdropper will be zero unless the main and eavesdropping channels are almost correlated, while the probability of a key mismatch between the legitimate transmitter and receiver will be low. Simulation results demonstrate that the proposed approach achieves very low secret key mismatch between the legitimate users while ensuring very high error probability at the eavesdropper. Next, a novel medium access control (MAC) protocol Slotted Aloha-NOMA (SAN), directed to Machine to Machine (M2M) communication applications in the 5G Internet of Things (IoT) networks was proposed. SAN is matched to the low-complexity implementation and sporadic traffic requirements of M2M applications. Substantial throughput gains are achieved by enhancing Slotted Aloha with non-orthogonal multiple access (NOMA) and a Successive Interference Cancellation (SIC) receiver that can simultaneously detect multiple transmitted signals using power domain multiplexing. The gateway SAN receiver adaptively learns the number of active devices using a form of multi-hypothesis testing and a novel procedure enables the transmitters to independently select distinct power levels. Simulation results show that the throughput of SAN exceeds that of conventional Slotted Aloha by 80% and that of CSMA/CA by 20% with a probability of transmission of 0.03, with a slightly increased average delay owing to the novel power level selection mechanism. Finally, beam sweeping pattern prediction, based on the dynamic distribution of user traffic, using a form of recurrent neural networks (RNNs) called Gated Recurrent Unit (GRU) is proposed. The spatial distribution of users is inferred from data in call detail records (CDRs) of the cellular network. Results show that the user's spatial distribution and their approximate location (direction) can be accurately predicted based on CDRs data using GRU, which is then used to calculate the sweeping pattern in the angular domain during cell search. Furthermore, the data-driven proposed beam sweeping pattern prediction was compared to random starting point sweeping (RSP) to measure the synchronization delay distribution. Results demonstrate the data- drive beam sweeping pattern prediction enables the UE to initially assess the gNB in approximately 0.41 of a complete scanning cycle that is required by the RSP scheme with probability 0.9 in a sparsely distributed UE scenario.
