Web Map Service implementation i .NET

I dagens samhälle så används internet mer och mer för att få fram information, så är även fallet förkartor. I denna uppsats, som gjorts på uppdrag av Tieto Sweden Healthcare & Welfare för att kunnaanvändas i systemet Laps Care, kommer det tas upp lösningar för att hämta geografisk data viakarttjänster med hjälp av Web Map Service (WMS) tjänster i en .NET applikation.Detta examensarbete kommer att ta upp, på en grundläggande nivå, hur WMS-standarden kananvändas av en klient för att visa digitala kartor från en WMS-tjänst samt lite kort om andraalternativ till WMS så som Web Map Service Tile Cache (WMS-C) och Tile Map Service (TMS)tjänster. Det ges olika förslag på open source komponenter som kan användas för att hantera sådanatjänster med fokus på SharpMap som valdes att användas i prototypen som gjordes för att visa huren sådan klient kan se ut.Uppsatsen kommer också behandla kartografi där det kortfattat förklaras om vilka riktlinjer somborde tas för en karta.I andra stycket tas kortfattat upp hur webbtjänster fungerar och även vad det finns för för- ochnackdelar att använda sig av sådana tjänster.Det kommer också förklaras vad Geografiska informationssystem (GIS) är och hur det användsidag.Sammanfattningsvis så utvecklades en fungerande prototyp med hjälp av open source komponentenSharpMap som kan visa kartor från WMS, WMS-C och TMS tjänster och om en ERSI Shapefilmed vägdata finns tillgänglig så går det att söka efter gator.

Web map visualisation of road inspections for the Swedish Civil Contingencies Agency

<p>One of the tasks of the Swedish Civil Contingencies Agency, MSB (<em>Myndigheten för Samhällsskydd och Beredskap</em>), is to partake in relief efforts in foreign countries. Before these relief efforts, roads are inspected for accessibility to ensure that communications will work. The road inspections are currently being performed by hand with the use of pen and paper, which brings difficulties to distribution of information.</p><p>During the course of this thesis project, Sweco Position Karlstad has developed a digital road inspection tool for MSB that recieves information from a road inspector and stores this information in a database. This road inspection tool may in the future replace the pen and paper inspections and ease the work of the road inspectors.</p><p>In this dissertation, a prototype of a web map that displays data from a road inspection is presented. Using a web map to display the results of a road inspection offers several advantages, as it eases distribution of information and allows end users to make selections about what data they want to view.</p>

Techniques for the Visualization of Positional Geospatial Uncertainty

Geospatial data almost always contains some amount of uncertainty due to inaccuracies in its acquisition and transformation. While the data is commonly visualized (e.g. on digital maps), there are unanswered needs for visualizing uncertainty along with it. Most research on effectively doing this addresses uncertainty in data values at geospatial positions, e.g. water depth, human population, or land-cover classification. Uncertainty in the data’s geospatial positions themselves (positional uncertainty) has not been previously focused on in this regard. In this thesis, techniques were created for visualizing positional uncertainty using World Vector Shoreline as an example dataset. The techniques consist of a shoreline buffer zone to which visual effects such as gradients, transparency, and randomized dots were applied. They are viewed interactively via Web Map Service (WMS). In clutter testing with human subjects, a transparency-gradient technique performed the best, followed by a solid-fill technique, with a dots-density-gradient technique performing worst.

Design och utvärdering av händelsebaserad Android-applikation

I detta papper, designas och utvärderas en händelsebaserad Android-applikation. MyWorld är en mobil applikation. Händelser som sker i användarens närhet kan ses på en karta. Genom arbetet används beprövade metoder för att skapa en väldefinierad design. Det tas upp problem och lösningar på designrelaterade problem i en händelsebaserad applikation. Designen utvärderas sedan genom användartester som använder mått av framgång, felsteg och tillfredställdhet. Genom en process på tre iterationer har arbetet gett applikationen en ny design som blivit mer användbar för användarna. I slutskedet finns en färdig designprototyp som är implementerad i applikationen.

The aim of this work is to look for freely available map servers and web map services on the Web that are useful for surveying activities, including developement of land adjustments. This thesis deals with theoretical problems of the functioning of map servers, web map services and standards for creating maps. The most famous map servers are described in detail and then compared with the less popular mapservers in the next section. The conclusion then relates to the use maps and assess the suitability of map servers for geodetic purposes and desin of land adjustments. This work aims to determine which map servers are most useful for geodetic purposes.
