A prática da pesquisa e mapeamento informacional bibliográfico apoiados por recursos tecnológicos: impactos na formação de professores / Research practice and bibliographic information mapping supported by technological resources: impact on teacher education

André, Claudio Fernando 06 April 2009 (has links)
This work, was carried out from 2004 to 2008, it reports our research in accordance with an approach of action research, collaborative, qualitative and dialectical-critical. We analyze how the research and the bibliographic mapping, supported by Information and Communication Technologies can be used as a strategy for organizing information in the education of teachers. One of the challenges, to conduct research using contemporary technologies, is the building of strategies to develop skills such as knowledge on how to access bibliographic information and organizing it. However, the sole access of that information does not guarantee by itself the building of knowledge. Considering such challenges, we introduced foundations of related basis of education, Information and Communication Technologies in the Information Architecture. We socialized our lived experiences on Nucleus of Youth and Adult Education and Faculty of Education of Teachers of USP (NEA), in Search Alpha Group, in Symposium of Scientific Initiation USP (SIICUSP), in Didactics of the School of Education at USP, in Discipline Distance Education of Faculty of Education at USP, Web Seminar on Curriculum in the Statistical Yearbook Brazilian Distance Education (ABRAEAD), in the article \"Mapping of informational flows in the initiation of teachers scientifically\" and in \"Bibliometrics aspects in Distance Education. As a result, we presented how the educational use of Information and Communication Technologies brought significant contribution to the mobilization and record of teaching practice and collective socialization of learning related to bibliographic search and mapping information, and helped qualify the reflection affect on the practice of teacher, strengthening the critical spirit, the same active and copyright necessary to the teaching profession. We observed that the work of research of information flow supported by technological resources is a complex process of organization; it takes time until fully incorporated. However, it seems essential to invest in such activities to contribute to the quality of teacher training and research, providing autonomy in the search, selection and organization of bibliographic information, expanding the repertoire educational and scientific projects through collective collaboration and cooperation.

No. of bitstreams: 1 Leocilea Aparecida Vieira.pdf: 2681817 bytes, checksum: 7df339a97a9f7e73a0b9c838fd797dd7 (MD5) Previous issue date: 2011-05-06 / The study we introduce here is inside the research line called: New Technologies in Education, what is part of the Education Doctorate Program from the Curriculum of the Pontifical Catholic University of São Paulo. The research had the following Objectives: a) Identify the facilities and difficulties found out by the teachers-students from the courses of post graduation named: Technologies and Distance Education and DE and the New Technologies ; through the research in the apprenticeship virtual ambience; b) To analyze the leading principles of pedagogic practical linked to the process of the knowledge construction and the way that the drill named: Scientific Research Methodology, contribute to the formation of the searching student meanwhile he or she is the producer of the knowledge. The starting conceptual point was framed by making the interlacement between technology and curriculum, while the literature revision concentrated about the knowledge history, the research as an educative principle and as a scientific principle. The investigation that is characterized by the case study enabled to form the two analyze categories: teaching and learning by searching and autonomy in the conception of Paulo Freire. To explain the collection instruments it was used the analyze of the contents inside the deposition of the twenty-one teachers-students and the eight teachers of the discipline Methodology of Scientific Research and Orientation of the Works to the Course Ending, the purpose of understanding the confrontation and the virtual and real challenges of the research subjects. During the development of the research it was observed that some barriers must be overcome by the students so as by the teachers, among them it is detached: a) Plagiarism; b) Reading lack; c) Understanding of that searching is much more than use Copy and Paste Keys; d) The culture absence that the student learn something, mo matter if it is in the virtual or in the real way; e) Resistance to the new; f) Dialoguing when writing the didactic materials; g) The virtual distance by itself what doesn‟t allow the eye by eye between who learns and who teaches. By ending the present study it was tried to show that educate or learn by searching, specially in DE, it should give to the student, the object of apprenticeship, the development of his or her autonomy supported by an educative proposal that allows the critical reading of the world, in the view of making a social and political construction that leads students and teachers to freedom / O estudo que ora se apresenta, insere-se na linha de pesquisa: Novas Tecnologias em Educação, do Programa de Doutorado em Educação: Currículo da Pontifícia Universidade Católica de São Paulo.

Reexamining the Problem of Demarcating Science and Pseudoscience / Re-examining the Problem of Demarcating Science and Pseudoscience

Westre, Evan 01 May 2014 (has links)
The demarcation problem aims to articulate the boundary between science and pseudoscience. Solutions to the problem have been notably raised by the logical positivists (verificationism), Karl Popper (falsificationism), and Imre Lakatos (methodology of research programmes). Due, largely, to the conclusions drawn by Larry Laudan, in a pivotal 1981 paper which dismissed the problem of demarcation as a “pseudo-problem”, the issue was brushed aside for years. Recently, however, there has been a revival of attempts to reexamine the demarcation problem and synthesize new solutions. My aim is to survey two of the contemporary attempts and to assess these approaches over and against the broader historical trajectory of the demarcation problem. These are the efforts of Nicholas Maxwell (aim-oriented empiricism), and Paul Hoyningen-Huene (systematicity). I suggest that the main virtue of the new attempts is that they promote a self-reflexive character within the sciences. A modern demarcation criterion should be sensitive towards the dynamic character of the sciences. Using, as an example, a case study of Traditional Chinese Medicine, I also suggest that the potential for conflict between demarcation conclusions and the empirical success of a pseudoscientific discipline is problematic. I question whether it is sensible to reject, as pseudoscientific, a discipline which seems to display empirical success in cases where the rival paradigm, contemporary western medicine, is not successful. Ultimately, I argue that there are both good theoretical and good pragmatic grounds to support further investigation into a demarcation criterion and that Laudan’s dismissal of the problem was premature. / Graduate / 0422 / 0402
