Atributy tělesnosti / attributes of corporealityLukešová, Eva January 2018 (has links)
My thesis titled Attributes of corporeality is a continuation of my thinking on the topic of identity. Now I approach identity as a category, not as an identity that belongs to a particular person. I consider the question of how is identity shaped in a postmodern, globalized world and how is it related to corporeality. My answer is based on the reality I know, on the current state of society. However, the intention of my work is above all to express my idea, which is rather a utopian scenario than anything else.

Biom / BiomBolcek, Roman Unknown Date (has links)
Our planet has been facing enormous challenges over the last century, caused by population growth, an ever-evolving industry, resulting in ever-increasing CO2 production, rising water levels, misuse of agricultural land and the extinction of animal species. This causes the destruction of the Biome. Architectural and urban tendencies in the construction of cities, which do not change even today, use the maximum area, materials that cannot be recycled, also have a large share in this. Insufficient use of renewable resources, modern agriculture, self-sufficiency, both housing and urban structures. The reason for not using these technologies is largely a political and commercial problem. The aim of this work is to examine the problems we face today and find meaningful solutions. Change existing architectural and urban trends. To create a self-sufficient structure in places where Biomes were destroyed and to create new ones accordingly. These places often have poor living conditions, such as high temperatures, lack of drinking water and overcrowding. With the help of simple rules of working with the landscape and the use of modern technology, create a new biosphere environment, change the climatic conditions in a given place and create suitable conditions for the life of both plant and animal communities. The structure should be inhabited by a certain number of people who will live in modules that will be fully self-sufficient, following the ISS model. Provide plenty of drinking water, food and energy. The structure should be created from plastic waste by new construction technologies, such as 3D printing using nanotechnology and carbon fiber. This should make it fully recyclable and renewable. The goal is to work with one structure and subsequently create another structure.

Odraz ekonomické krize v současné řecké literatuře: Petros Markaris, Trilogie řecké krize. / Reflection of the economic crisis in contemporary Greek literature: Petros Markaris, Trilogy of the Greek crisis.Šímová, Veronika January 2021 (has links)
Petros Markaris's detective novel addresses the economic crisis, highlighting the economic, political and social crisis rather than the crime cases. In the first part of my master's thesis, the detective novel is addressed in the wider context of the greek contemporary literature and the development of the genre is briefly described. Thereafter, an analysis of the content of the trilogy regarding the crisis and the description of the main topics, such as unemployment, migration and far-right wing is carried out. In the next chapters, the common characteristics of all the novels are described. Furthermore, a research was conducted regarding the translations into German, Spanish and Italian to find out why Petros Markaris gained popularity abroad.

Představování Západu: Marginalita a možné životy na předměstí mexického města / Imagining the West: Marginality and Possible Lives at the Outskirts of a Mexican CityHeřmanová, Marie January 2018 (has links)
PhD Thesis Summary: Imagining the West: Marginality and Possible Lives at the Outskirts of a Mexican City Mgr. Marie Heřmanová The thesis aims to develop various results of a long-term fieldwork in the city of San Cristóbal de Las Casas, Chiapas, México, where rural-urban migration was pervasive since the 1960s. The research concentrated on the second generation of Tzotzil and Tzeltal migrants living at the suburbs of the city. Young indigenous people, whose parents came to the city to seek jobs, are now completely bilingual (they speak their maternal language - mostly Tzotzil as well as spanish they have learned in the school in the city). They mostly work in the same areas as the first generation migrants - as shop-keepers, souvenirs sellers or street-food vendors. They are thus in everyday interaction with both tourist and expats in the city centre. These interactions and meetings are in the context of the thesis seen as a consitutive element to imageries of mobility, modernity and Western lifestyles developed by the the young indigenous people from the suburbs. The concept if "Imaginary West" (Yurchak 2005) is central in the thesis, an unseen and yet ever-present homeland of the tourists and most importantly a place where "better lives" happen. The text explores how the search for...

Paralelní evoluční algoritmus EDA využívající teorii kopulí / Parallel Evolutionary Algorithm EDA Based on CopulasHyrš, Martin Unknown Date (has links)
In my thesis I~ deal with the design, implementation and testing of the advanced parallel Estimation of Distribution Algorithm (EDA) utilizing copula theory to create a~ probabilistic model. A~new population is created by the process of sampling the joint distribution function, which models the current distribution of the subpopulation of promising individuals . The usage of copulas increases the efficiency of the learning process and sampling the probabilistic model. It can be separated into mutually independent marginal distributions and the copula , which represents the correlations between the variables of the solved problem. This concept initiated the usage of the parallel island architecture , in which the migration of probabilistic models belonging to individual islands ' subpopulations was used instead of the migration of individuals . The statistical tests used in the comparison of the proposed algorithm ( mCEDA = migrating Copula - based Estimation of Distribution Algorithm ) and the algorithms of other authors confirmed the effectiveness of the proposed concept .

Pohyb bezdomovců v městské prostředí: Na příkladě hlavního města Prahy / Homeless Movement in Urban Area: Illustrated by the Example of PragueJakubec, Filip January 2015 (has links)
The following text deals with homeless movement in an urban area and is based on a qualitative field research carried out in the capital of the Czech Republic, Prague, from the early November 2014 until the beginning of May 2015. The research of such a sensitive topic as homelessness demands much higher attention, with regard to respecting the ethical rules of the field research and publication of materials gained. Therefore, my thesis deals with the motives of their movement usually based on meeting basic human needs, and with general characteristics of locations they stay in. This information clarify why homeless people move in the city without revelation of exact maps of their location, because this may endanger my informants.

Integrace Vietnamců v České republice / Integration of the Vietnamese in the Czech RepublicKučera, Petr January 2014 (has links)
KUČERA, Petr. Integration of the Vietnamese in the Czech Republic. Prague, 2014. Dissertation. Charles University in Prague, Faculty of Arts, Institute of Czech Language and Theory of Communication. This thesis deals with the integration of the Vietnamese community in the Czech Republic which has its specifics and significantly differs from the integration of other foreigners living in the Czech Republic. The characteristics of the Vietnamese community are for example the high percentage of those who live here on the permanent residence permit, then very low unemployment and at last the majority of the community is doing their own business on the trade licence. The other important part is the issue of the acquisition of knowledge of the Czech language. The theoretical part of the thesis firstly defines the number of Vietnamese living in the Czech Republic, historical development of this community and their characteristics. Then the thesis deals with the term of integration; this term is properly defined and the particular dimensions of integration are described as well. The end of the theoretical part describes the particular types of residences, which foreigners can obtain. The empirical part of this thesis attempts to answer the question concerning the integration of Vietnamese living in the...

(in English): This diploma thesis is focused on the Russian-speaking immigrants living in the Czech Republic, specifically on a group of those originating in Ukraine. It deals mainly with their speech behaviour during speeches in the language of the target country of their emigration, i.e., the Czech language, on the background of sociological, cultural and economic aspects. The thesis is divided into three basic chapters. The first chapter provides a brief description of the Russian-speaking emigration with the emphasis on the Ukrainian emigration. The main waves of the Ukrainian emigration from the end of 19th century to the present are described in this chapter. The target group of the study is the Ukrainian emigration after the fall of the communist regime in 1989 which is mainly concerned about the immigration of Czech compatriots and of labour emigration. Basic research strategies and the methodology of the study are described in the second chapter. Mainly qualitative research methods as well as quantitative methods were used in the thesis and the results of the quantitative method serve primarily to ensure the validity of the study during the linguistic analysis of individual respondents. The last chapter focuses on the research itself, it describes its process and results which stem from...

Fenomén uprchlictví a možnosti jeho využití v interaktivní výuceŠONKOVÁ, Eva January 2017 (has links)
The submitted diploma thesis is focused on the refugee phenomenon and its classification among international migration issues as such, while the interest is focused mainly on immigration from third-world countries into European Union, accenting the Czech Republic. In this context, causes of growing tendency in international protection applicant and economic migrant numbers, but also responses caused by this fact, are being discussed. To enable a closer look at the multi-ethnic co-habitation character, there is secondary empirical data outlining the current situation of the majority´s relationship towards the ethnic and national plurality with regard to migration crisis given on the one hand, and determinants influencing the creation of different citizen attitudes on the other hand. Last but not least, there is some space left for chosen interactive education methods and didactic material based on them, which is useful when teaching about the controversial refugee issue in lessons of Civics.
