The Effect of Two Methods of Programming upon the Development of the Orchestra in a Secondary School

Boney, Joan Ellen, 1937- 06 1900 (has links)
The present study was designed for the purpose of comparing the effectiveness of two methods of orchestral programming, demonstration and non-demonstration, upon (1) the musical perception of the members of a student body audience, and (2) the attitudes of the members of a student body toward orchestra as a school subject. This comparison of demonstration and non-demonstration programming involved the question concerning the effectiveness of instructive listening as compared with free listening in the development of musical perception and attitudes. The problem of the present study is presented in the following major areas: (1) musical perception, end (2) attitudes.

Polypop : Polyrytmik i modern populärmusik / Polypop : Polyrhythms in contemporary pop music

Klint, Ludvig January 2018 (has links)
In this study polyrhythms are examined as a way of writing pop songs. The purpose of the study is to research how polyrhythms can be used to create music productions in the context of popular music. As an introduction a few examples are given as to how polyrhythms appear in different genres of music. Metal and Jazz are both examples of musically advanced genres which are known to use polyrhythms. The Polyrhythm 4:3 is presented as the most common polyrhythm appearing in pop music, while other polyrhythms are left unused. In the Method chapter the use of sampling and music programming in this study is described, and why this was the preferred method over live musicians and acoustic recordings. The result of this study is the sounding material i.e. the pieces of music that was created as a part of this thesis. A total of six songs were written, two songs include vocals and lyrics while the remaining four are instrumental tracks. Important reflections include the aspect of tempo, and how it changes whether polyrhythms are perceived as musical or understandable, in my opinion.

Development and management in the project "Music based on data"

Д., Zhuikova, E. D. January 2022 (has links)
Musical accompaniment has a positive effect on productivity during work. To increase concentration and relieve stress among students, it was proposed to create a sound installation in the coworking of the university. In this work, an ecosystem is taken as a basis, from which sensors take readings of temperature, pressure and air humidity, soil temperature and moisture, as well as illumination. Based on these readings, a musical accompaniment is generated using the Pure Data programming language, which corresponds to the current state of the system. Using the Node-RED platform, a dashboard was implemented to monitor and manage the state of the ecosystem. In addition, the work identified the main sprints and tasks that make it possible to implement the management of a similar project from the point of view of the product owner.
