Strategické řízení Fakultní nemocnice v Motole / Strategic Management in Motol University Hospital

This master thesis deals with strategic analysis of Motol University Hospital, which belongs to the largest hospital complex in Central and Eastern Europe providing complex treatment of whole human body at any age (from prenatal to advanced age). The aim of the thesis is a description of hospital management and assessment of the possibility of using the Balanced Scorecard in health care. The theoretical part contains a basic description of strategy creation, selected methods for analysing internal and external environment and a general description of the Balanced Scorecard. The practical part comprises of an executed strategic analysis of Motol University Hospital, and assessment of hospital´s strengths and weaknesses, opportunities and threats (SWOT analysis). This thesis also contains a survey of scientific literature concerning the usage of the Balanced Scorecard in health care, specifically in hospitals. A result of this survey helps to assess the feasibility of introducing the Balanced Scorecard in Czech hospitals (those in state ownership). This thesis also includes a proposal of strategic perspectives for Motol University Hospital and an evaluation of advantages and disadvantages of implementation into hospital management. A strategy map displays relationships among proposed goals.

The thesis is focused on mapping of selected on-line services in hospitals in Czech Re-public according to their availability. In the next step logistic regression model will be used, which will measure a range of particular on-line services according to their legal form, majority ownership, region in which health organization is located, to education achieved and gender of hospital director and lastly in accordance with the size of hospital from the viewpoint of bed capacity. This thesis will provide comprehensive overview of availability of on-line services in Czech hospitals and determine which factors significantly decreasing or increasing chance of their occurrence on hospital websites.

The subject of this diploma thesis is a review of legislation about ecodesign, the design of air conditioning systems for hospital departments and analysis of energy consumption of air conditioning systems designed before and after ecodesign 2018. The thesis is divided into three parts. The theoretical part deals with research of ecodesign legislation (especially EU Commission Regulation No. 1253/2014) and air conditioning in health care facilities. In the second part design of two air-conditioning systems serving the hospital's traumatology department was realized at the level of documentation for building permission. The third part contains calculations and assessments of expected consumption of electric and thermal energy, comparison of units before and after ecodesign and evaluation of annual operating costs.

The thesis is focused on the design and assessment of selected elements of load-bearing structure of hospital pavilion. This pavilion consisted of board frame with additionally lined self-supporting perimeter cover. Selected elements of the structure are locally supported slab, columns, foundation pad and staircase . Computational model was assembled of the software RFEM5. Internal forces locally supported slab were verified by manual calculation. The design documentation consist of engineering report, structural analysis and shape and reinforcements drawings of selected structural elements.

Implementace paliativní péče do nemocnic / Implementation of palliative care in hospital setting

This thesis deals with the implementation of palliative care in hospitals and perceives the topic in context of change management in health facilities. In the Czech Republic, this type of care is still at its beginning in hospitals and its implementation is a big challenge. The aim of the thesis is to find out what factors influence the implementation of palliative care in hospitals. In the first part of the text, the theoretical bases concerning palliative care and change management are outlined. The empirical part introduces a qualitative survey identifying barriers that had to be overcome during the implementation of palliative care in hospitals and factors that were instrumental in the implementation. Within the survey, 66 interviews with members of multidisciplinary teams from 17 hospitals were made. All the hospitals participated in the Together until the end programme of the Avast Foundation. The assessment of the survey results focuses on recommendations for hospitals that decide to extend or launch the palliative attitude in their premises and on challenges for the future of palliative care in the Czech Republic. The theoretical part deals with chronic ill children, its impact on the child and the family, describes the function of a health and social worker and other members of a multidisciplinary team with the aim of cooperation within a multidisciplinary team in the care of a chronically ill child. The aim of this thesis is to determine a position and a design for a Preventive Care Center at the Masaryk Memorial Cancer Institute in Brno (MOÚ) as well as to expand the existing Clinic of Radiation Oncology building at the same premises. The plot of land is located at a South-facing slope of Žlutý kopec, with the MOÚ land being enclosed by the Roubalova and Tomešova street. At the land, there are two buildings currently not in use which used to house a regional blood transfusion center coupled with a main building of the town library. The Preventive Care Center concept includes an inpatient ward for mobile patients, medical staff facilities, a proton therapy center, and space for rent. The design of the Preventive Care Center and its immediate surroundings should promote a pleasant and welcoming environment which could serve as a sanctuary area for health protection and prevention. This paper follows from the traffic solution and the development planned for the surrounding municipal premises based on the future Brno spatial plan and subsequent spatial and regulatory studies of newly planned residential area on the southern slopes of Žlutý kopec.

Pražské nemocnice v letech 1948-1968 Ing. Mgr. Kateřina Murtingerová Summary: This work presents a development of Prague hospitals during 1948 and 1968. The first part of my thesis describes theoretical and historical background of health care provision in the first half of the 20st century and it is focused on development of Czech healthcare system. This part of thesis also includes reform plans and concepts proposed during the first republic and the Second World War, with special attention to Albert and Nedvěd's plans playing a key role in setting of healthcare provision after the year 1948. The second part of this thesis is based on legislative and institutional analysis after the Second World War that was developing hand in hand with social, political, and economic changes in Czechoslovakia. Important part of this capture is also an assessment of the results of health care provision during 1948-1968 from the perspective of the whole country, including structure and availability of hospital care, demographic trends and population health trends, expenditure of health care provision and preventive measures etc. Thesis also includes historical overview of academic environment.
