Viajemos

Navarrete Villagrán, Andrea Cindy, Guerrero Más, Julio César, Araujo Cano, Luis Augusto 20 September 2019 (has links)
This project aims to contribute to the growth of tourism in the country and to satisfy traveler’s demand that is matching with other travelers who have interest in common in order to get a safe and fun travel experience. Some of the reasons of why the plans are cancel or left unplanned is due to the lack of time and interest about sharing the same activities, preferences and destination. In addition, if you want to join a group and meet new people, you may not feel secure because you do not have their personal information validated and therefore you do not travel, make relationships and do not get out of your comfort zone. App “Viajemos” is being designing to become an experience truth. The user will be able to search from his cellphone and do the match it wants with people of its interest and what we offer here is to validate the personal information of their matches with Reniec, so that communication be safer and easier. To implement this project, we have also designed an operative and marketing plan that it is going to be manage by the partners during the first year and then according to the sales projection and the increase of demand, we expect to grow up as a company and have a variety of services always developing a better way to interact. / Trabajo de investigación

Waste Not, Want Not: A Smartphone Application Designed to Form Sustainable Habits

Buswell, Amy Rose 01 January 2019 (has links)
This paper chronicles the creation of the smartphone application, `Waste Not, Want Not'. The application is designed to create sustainable habits and change wasteful behaviors in order to reduce personal waste production. The paper explores related works in the fields of environmental science, psychology, and computer science. These related studies establish the need for an application focused on personal waste reduction and the means to build such an application. The design process for the application follows User Experience Design's four phases: Research, Sketch, Design, and Evaluation. The target audience for the application is surveyed and imagined. Next, a basic outline of the application's functionality is created. From this outline, a prototype of the application is built. This prototype undergoes usability testing. It ranks above the average for each of the three usability metrics: effectiveness, efficiency, and satisfaction. The paper then explores possible expansions and implementations of the application.

CALIFORNIA STATE UNIVERSITY SAN BERNARDINO WiN GPS

Ron, Francisco A 01 June 2015 (has links)
The objective of this masters project is to develop a working application for Android devices. This is an application intended to be used by CSUSB. It has its own database, which has information about most of the facilities on campus. There are many GPS applications on the market, however I chose to design and implement WiN GPS, short for Walking GPS, because it will allow the possibility of a personalized GPS for the school and for users should they choose to use it. In order to develop Win GPS it was necessary to research the available tools and to become familiar with the ones that were selected. These tools such as map application providers, i.e. Google-maps, integrated development environments, database managers, software development kits, and mobile device emulators were analysed and compared. Once the tools were selected. It was necessary to study, to become familiar with and to learn how to use them. Finally an application is developed and its main functions/code will be explained. This masters project will allow potentially Android developers to evaluate possible barriers, such as price and limitations of map applications providers, so they can make an informed decision.

The Evaluation of an Android Permission Management System Based on Crowdsourcing

Rustgi, Pulkit 01 January 2019 (has links)
Mobile and web application security, particularly concerning the area of data privacy, has received much attention from the public in recent years. Most applications are installed without disclosing full information to users and clearly stating what they have access to. This often raises concerns when users become aware of unnecessary information being collected or stored. Unfortunately, most users have little to no technical knowledge in regard to what permissions should be granted and can only rely on their intuition and past experiences to make relatively uninformed decisions. DroidNet, a crowdsource based Android recommendation tool and framework, is a proposed avenue for the technically incapable. DroidNet alleviates privacy concerns and presents users with permission recommendations of high confidence based on the decisions from expert users on the network who are using the same applications. The framework combines an interactive user interface, used for data collection and presenting permission recommendations to users, with a transitional Bayesian inference model and multiple algorithms used for rating users based on their respective expertise levels. As a result, the recommendations that are provided to users are based on aggregated expert responses and their confidence levels. This work presents the completed DroidNet project in its entirety, including the implementation of the application, algorithms, and user interface itself. Additionally, this thesis presents and utilizes a unique collection of real-world data from actual Android users. The primary goal of this work is to evaluate the effectiveness and accuracy of DroidNet's recommendations and to show that regular mobile device users can benefit from crowdsourcing.

Synthesis, characters and application of silver-doped cabon Nanotubes and nanoporous polymers for purification of water samples

Rananga, Lutendo Evelyn January 2013 (has links)
Thesis (MSc. (Chemistry)) -- University of Limpopo, 2013 / Drinkable water is water that is safe enough to be consumed by humans or used with low risk of immediate or long term harm. World-wide, insufficient access to portable water and use of sources contaminated with disease vectors, pathogens, and unacceptable levels of toxins is a huge problem. The use of such water for drinking and food preparation leads to the widespread of acute and chronic illnesses. This is a major cause of death and misery in many undeveloped countries. Reduction of waterborne diseases is a major public health goal in developing countries. Nanotechnology offers the possibility of an efficient removal of pollutants and microorganisms from water. Essentially, three classes of nanoscale materials were investigated as functional materials for water purification in this study. Silver nanoparticles, carbon nanotubes and beta ()-cyclodextrin polymers were synthesised and characterised specifically for purification of water samples. β-cyclodextrin is soluble in both water and other aqueous media. In order to render cyclodextrins insoluble, they were converted into highly cross-linked polymers, by polymerisation with a bifunctional linker, hexamethylene diisocyanate. Cyclodextrins were functionalised and synthesised with either the allyl or the benzoyl group. Characterisation with fourier transform infrared (FTIR) spectrophotometer confirmed the functionalisation process. Thereafter the scanning electron microscopy (SEM) analysis confirmed the polymers’ morphology to be spongy, and capable of absorbing contaminants. Multi-walled carbon nanotubes (MWCNTs) were treated with a mixture of sulphuric and nitric acid in order to introduce the carboxyl and hydroxyl groups. These were characterised by SEM, transmission electron microscopy (TEM), X-ray diffraction (XRD) and FTIR spectroscopy to confirm the functionalisation process. Silver nanoparticles were synthesised from sodium citrate and silver nitrate, using sodium dodecyl sulphate as a surfactant. Their characterisation was done by SEM, energy dispersive X ray (EDX) spectroscopy, TEM, UV/Vis spectroscopy and XRD to confirm a face centred cubic structure with an estimated crystallite size ranging from 50 to 100 nm.β-cyclodextrin polymers, functionalised multi-walled carbon nanotubes and silver nanoparticle-doped MWCNTs/cyclodextrin composites were characterised by SEM, TEM, XRD, Brunauer-Emmet-Teller (BET) and EDX. Analysis of the phenolic compound, 4-hydroxynitrobenzene in water, using these nanocomposites, demonstrated good capabilities of removing organic contaminants from water samples as indicated by their high absorption efficiencies of the contaminants. The synthesised metal-organic composites were tested for their effectiveness in removing organic contaminants as well as for eliminating Escherichia coli bacteria from water. The synthesised composites presented up to 97% absorption efficiency of organic contaminants and up to 100% inactivation of the bacteria. There was complete destruction of bacteria from the water analysed at various times and varying concentrations. After a long exposure of the nanocomposites to E. coli, pits were noticeable on the external morphology of the bacteria, thus suggesting that the nanocomposites are bactericidal. The bacterial activity increased with temperature, when studied between 10 oC and 30 oC.

Barraza Leon, Luz Mariella, Cainicela Villalobos, Gianella, Lopez Espinoza, Luis Alonso, Romero Ore, Diego Sebastiam, Rodriguez Benites, Daniel Fernando Arturo 01 December 2018 (has links)
The present work is focused on recreation for dogs through the service of walks through a mobile application. The problem encountered by dog owners is the lack of time to walk their pets. Consequently, psychosomatic diseases are generated, such as heart disease or ulcers in the long term. Physical problems can develop, because of being stressed and anxious. Considering this, many owners are encouraged to hire someone to provide rides and thus combat the stress generated by isolation. However, there is a lack of confidence about the walker. It has been proposed as solution measures, allow an individual or group walk program for your pet at the time. You can also make the reservation of a weekly plan. In addition, the application will have fundamental information about the assigned walker, a brief review and comments on the quality of the service previously performed to other users. It will be complemented with the use of GPS collars that our walkers will have and will be placed to the pets during the walk. We will have a differentiation strategy based on the following factors: variety of services, security, trust in the service, price of the service, quality of service and means of payment. / Trabajo de investigación
