Optická emisní spektroskopie dohasínajícího plazmatu ve směsi dusík-argon / Optical emission spectoscopy of the nitrogen-argon post-discharge

Žáková, Marie January 2009 (has links)
The study of plasmas generated in pure nitrogen and their afterglows are a subject of many hundreds works bringing a lot of information about the kinetic processes and energy transfer reactions. The effect of nitrogen pink afterglow has a specific position among the other kinds of discharges and post-discharges. The post-discharge, and especially the pink afterglow, is extremely sensitive to the presence of various impurities and experimental conditions (total gas pressure in a discharge tube, temperature, etc.) because of their significant influence on all kinetic processes. That is the reason, why it is so important to study this processes. The DC flowing afterglow (generated using the hollow molybdenum electrodes in the distance of 12 cm, power ± 290 W) was used for the experimental part of this work. The discharge was created in Pyrex discharge tube at different concentration ratio of nitrogen and argon. The total gas presure was in range from 500 Pa to 5000 Pa. The emission spectra of post-discharge were recorded by TRIAX 550 spectrometer with CCD detector in the range of 320-780 nm. The vibrational populations at individual vibrational levels were calculated using the emission bands of the first (N2 (B 3g) N2 (A 3u+)) and the second (N2 (C 3u) N2 (B 3g)) positive and the first negative (N2+ (B 2u+) N2+ (X 2g+) nitrogen spectral systems. The dependencies of intensity on decay time and relative vibrational populations on argon concentration and pressure were obtained. The pink afterglow was very sharp in pure nitrogen at low pressure. With the increasing total pressure it was shifted to the later decay times and it was visible for longer time, too. The same effect was observed with the increase of argon concentration in the gas mixture. At the highest argon concentrations, especially at lower pressure, the effect of pink afterglow dissapeared. The knowledge of these processes can give the solution of all kinetic reactions in plasma and this can be used in plasma chemistry and for development of new technologies. This will be a subject of further intensive studies.

Vliv nanočástic na rychlost izotermické krystalizace isotaktického polypropylénu / The influence of nanoparticles on isothermal crystallization rate of isotactic polypropylene

Miškolci, Michal January 2011 (has links)
This diploma thesis deals with the study of isothermal crystallization of nanocomposite materials based on isotactic polypropylene (iPP) and nanosilica, depending on the volume fraction (0, 2, 4 and 6 %) and type of silica and the crystallization temperature. Fumed silica and four types of silica with different surface treatment were used as filler. The crystallization performed at temperatures 136, 138, 140 and 142 °C has been studied in-situ using polarized optical microscope and the crystallization rate was evaluated from the growing radius of spherulites. It can be stated that particles of silica have been inbuilt into the spherulites due to the linear growth of spherulites of all composite materials. The most significant increase of the crystallization rate of iPP was caused by fumed silica, the most significant decrease was caused by silica TS-720 at volume fraction 4 %. The crystallization rate (G) has been slightly increased with the increasing volume fraction of filler at 136 °C, the G slightly decreased at 138 °C and there was no trend of G for two higher temperatures. Also, it was not possible to exactly evaluate the influence of the surface treatments. The reason is the most probably uneven (non-homogenous) distribution of nanosilica as revealed thermogravimetric analysis. The crystallization kinetics was evaluated according to the Lauritzen-Hoffmann theory. The morphological part of the study showed that iPP was in ? and ß-structure and spherulites of ? phase were of the type I, II and mixed.

Studium stability emulzí pomocí fyzikálně-chemických a optických metod / Study of emulsion stability by means of physical-chemical and optical methods

Kuchyňová, Jitka January 2011 (has links)
The diploma thesis deals with the stability determination of model O/W (30/70) emulsions at 25°C. In fact, the time and emulsifier concentration (Tego Care PS) dependences of physical properties (aging) were monitored. In the second part of the work, the influence of conservant on emulsion stabilities were studied. In order to study physical properties of emusions rheometry, differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) and optical microscopy were employed. The rheological measurement provided information on viscosity and viscoelastic modulus. DSC experiments used the repeated freezing/thawing cycles which allowed monitoring of changes in crystallization temperature of water present in emulsions and melting enthalpy of ice formed during the cooling. The optical microscopy was used to examine the change in oil droplet size in the course of emulsion destabilization and phase separation. In this case the image analysis was carried out using program HarFA. The results showed that due to the emulsion creaming, the oil droplets diffuse and aggregate which causes phase separation. Those processes were quickest for the emulsion with lowest emulsifier concentration 0.1 % (destabilization during 51 days) The emulsions with emulsifier concentration about 1.5 and 1.3 % were stable at least for 4 months. The presence of the coemulsifiers increased the elastic modulus and descreased the phase difference due to the network formation. It was shown that for the stability determination is necessary to use conservant due to risk of microbial contamination. DSC experiments allowed to distingush samples prepared under different conditions. Lower rotational speed during emulsion preparation caused the appearance of two melting and crystalization peaks while for higher speed only one peak was observed.

Reichert, Pavel January 2008 (has links)
The purpose of this master’s thesis is to explain the issues of the FTTx network design. The main idea of this work is to describe to readers the methods of the designing the optical access networks. Especially we will speak about the building technologies and different topologies used in a practice. The different technologies of optical access networks’ building and various parameters, which are necessary to take into account in the designing of these networks, will be introduced. In the theoretical part, methods of measurement, which are like the needed part of each optical access networks’ building, will be described. Two purposes of the FTTB networks with all proprieties will be made and offered. One purpose will be solved by Point to Point topology and the second purpose will be solved by Point to Multipoint topology. Following the confrontation one of these purposes will be chosen and realized. By ITU recommendation, measurements will be performed on the built optical trace. The final protocols will be elaborated from these measurements. The built trace with all final reports will be prepared for assignment to the subscriber.

Metodika měření optických sítí FTTH / Methodology for FTTH optical network measurement

Gajdoš, Jaroslav January 2009 (has links)
The main topic of this master thesis is a FTTH measurement methodology of optical networks and its specific features 9 compared with other measurement methodologies. Also, the use of the FTTH measurement methodology: an example of measurements of a passive network with splitter 1:8 and analysis of the results of these experimental measurements. The first part of the thesis concerns itself with the description of optical networks and characteristics and features of the FTTH networks. A detailed description of the passive optical networks is provided: e.g. the optical network unit ONU, the optical line termination OLT, and, most importantly, the passive optical splitter. The wavelength division multiplex 9 WDM 9 which is used in passive optical networks is also described in detail. The chapter on measurement methodologies focuses in detail and provides many examples of currently used measurement methodologies of these networks. The best results are currently achieved with the OTDR methodology. The second part of the thesis concentrates on the description of the measurement of a passive optical network with splitter 1:8 using the methods described in previous chapters. As conclusion, a detailed analysis, assessment of the results and their usefulness when put into practice is provided.
