On the Manager's Body as an Aesthetics of ControlHarding, Nancy H. January 2003 (has links)
No / Over the last decade or so, aesthetic and art theory has played an increasingly significant role in the way work and its organization has come to be understood. Bringing together the work of an international spectrum of academics, this collection contributes, in an overall more critical vein, to such emerging debates. Combining both empirical and theoretical material, each chapter re-evaluates the emerging relationship between art, aesthetics and work, exploring its potential as both a medium of critical analysis, and as a site of conflict and resistance.

The Current Status of Social Media use among Nonprofit Human Service Organizations: An Exploratory StudyYoung, James 25 April 2012 (has links)
Social media has proliferated throughout the nonprofit sector over the last five years and organizations use these new tools in a variety of ways. Little research is available on the use of social media within nonprofit human service organizations (HSO) specifically. This study is one of the first of its kind to explore how and why human service organizations are using social media. The aim of this study is to understand the current status of social media use among nonprofit human service organizations by exploring and describing the social media platforms in use, associated practices with social media, the frequency of use, general satisfaction, and plans for the future use of social media. A cross-sectional research design was selected and a survey instrument was created for the study. Data were collected from 125 nonprofit human service organizations in the Richmond, VA metropolitan area that were identified from a sampling frame of nonprofit organizations. The current status of social media use among nonprofit human service organizations is that HSO’s initially adopted social media to engage the community. Although many HSO’s continue to do this, promoting the HSO’s programs and services has also become a top priority. This is primarily done using Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube to share organizational newsletters and other information with their online community at least twice a day. On average, human service organizations have been using social media for more than five years and most plan to continue using social media in the future. Although HSO’s report using social media less than ten hours a week, they are generally satisfied with the outcomes, but admitted more assistance is needed. This study establishes a foundation for HSO’s to discuss the uncertainty of the future and to identify goals and strategies to help the HSO move forward. Increased understanding of why and how to use social media will also help HSO’s to determine strategies for using social media that can add to the sustainability of the organization. Additional implications for HSO’s and suggestions for future research are also discussed.

Previous issue date: 2018-06-29 / One of the great challenges in the world of work today, in the national and international
scenario, is the generation of jobs. In this context, the public career has been singled out by
many as an alternative to dodging unemployment and the candidates for public office as more
advantageous than the careers of private initiative for offering, so far, stability, better labor
benefits and less results and pressur9es. The present study aimed to analyze the perception of
a public management analyst of the Federal Public Prosecution Service (MPU) on the
relationship between professional training and the performance of work activities. The
analysis of this study is part of a qualitative and exploratory approach . Its theoretical weight
was anchored in the ideas of Sennett, Gaulejac and Saviani, among others. The
methodological procedures for the generation of data were made through documentary
research and semi-structured interviews, submitted to content analysis, according to Minayo.
The results, to highlight some, showed that in the perception of the respondents there is no
close relationship between higher education and work performance, as well as
underutilization of analysts' potential, generating discontent and suffering, and that the
meaning of the work goes through the desire for delivery good results for the institution and
society. Challenges of the public sector: managing the public thing effectively. Educate its
professionals to deliver better results to society. Develop professional training programs
consistent with the needs of the institution and expectations of its servers.
A análise desse estudo inserese
