Análise da máquina Torus sob frenagem eletrodinâmica

Osório, Jonas Obert Martins January 2011 (has links)
This work is carried out with the aim to study the application, by a vehicular braking system, of a brushless electrical machine with a toroidal armature core, and axial magnetic flux delivered by rare earth permanent magnets, the so-called Torus machine. The machine was built in the LMEAE, and previously studied as a motor by other work. However, in order to assess its performance in a braking system, the focus is the point of view of the machine as a generator. Static and dynamic tests are implemented as well as a numerical model by means of the finite element method, in order to compare the machine with sector poles permanent magnets and with square magnet poles. Physical changes and on the driving system of the machine, and dynamic braking tests are performed. The analytical modelling for the magnetic induction was developed using the technique of conformal transformation. The study aims to present the features of the machine and demonstrates its potential applicability to a vehicular subsystem under regenerative braking and the ability to supply an energy storage system with part of the kinetic energy, i.e. batteries and super capacitors.

Eckert, Paulo Roberto January 2012 (has links)
This work aims the study and development of a linear actuator with permanent magnets applied to active suspension systems, with emphasis on vehicular suspension. That development takes into account specific features such as force, volume, force per volume ratio, stroke and frequency response. Together with the theoretical study the design of the actuator is carried out based on parametric simulation by means of finite elements which analyses qualitative and quantitative aspects that are important to make the project decision, specifically to define materials and geometry. To suit as an analysis tool it was employed an analytical modelling, which showed to be efficient because it was capable of producing faster results than the finite elements method to evaluate physical quantities of interest such as force and magnetic flux density. Finally and based on project aspects, a prototype was built which allowed to validate all models. Experimental and theoretical results showed a good agreement which led to conclude that the employed methods are efficient, providing subsidies to the studied application.

Cantarel, Amélie 25 March 2011 (has links)
In France, the grassland ecosystem represents an important part of the total of agricultural landscape and provides important economic and ecological services. This multifunctional ecosystem is a complex biological system where atmosphere, plants and soil interact together, via the biogeochemical cycles (particularly carbon and nitrogen cycles). In order to maintain goods and services from grasslands in changing environmental conditions, current research on the grassland ecosystem focus on the evolution of key grassland processes (i.e. production, gaseous exchanges, biodiversity) under multiple and simultaneous climate change. This thesis addresses the impacts of the three main climate change drivers (air temperature, precipitation and atmospheric carbon dioxide concentrations) on an extensively-managed upland grassland in situ. We investigated changes in ecosystem function and structure under the influence of a projected climate scenario for 2080 for central France. This scenario (ACCACIA A2) comprises : air warming of 3.5°C, 20 % reduction of the summer precipitation and an increase of 200 ppm in atmospheric carbon dioxide (CO2).Our results indicate that in the medium term (after three years of experimental treatments), warming had negative effects on the annual aboveground production. Elevated CO2 had no significant effects on aboveground production initially, but positive effects on biomass from the third year onwards. Species richness and the indices of species diversity did not show significant differences in response to climate change, but warming was associated with a decline in grass abundance after three years. Contrary to biomass production, plant traits showed a stronger response to elevated CO2 than to warming. After three years of study, canopy-level photosynthesis showed a negative effect of warming but an acclimation to elevated CO2 during the growing season. This pattern was also found for leaf-level photosynthetic rates measured on a dominant grass species (Festuca arundinacea). For Festuca, the direct negative effect of warming was associated with a decrease in leaf fructan metabolism. In contrast, the photosynthetic acclimation under elevated CO2 observed in Festuca seemed closely linked to the indirect effect of soil water content. Our study also examined effects of climate change on one of the main trace greenhouse gases in grasslands, nitrous oxide (N2O). During our study, N2O fluxes showed significant inter-and intra-annual variability. Nevertheless, mean annual N2O fluxes increased in response to warming. Warming had a positive effect on nitrification rates, denitrification rates and the population size of nitrifying bacteria (AOB). Furthermore, field N2O fluxes showed a stronger correlation with the microbial population size in the warmed compared with the control treatment. Overall, warming seems to be the main factor driving ecosystem responses to projected climate change conditions for this cool, upland grassland. In addition, our results suggest that grassland function (aboveground production, N2O emissions) are more vulnerable to complex climate change than grassland community structure for our study system.

Evaluation des services fourragers et environnementaux des prairies permanentes à partir de la végétation, du milieu et des pratiques de gestion / Evaluation of agronomic and environmental services of permanent grasslands from vegetation, environment and management

Michaud, Audrey 27 June 2011 (has links)
The contribution of permanent grasslands (PG) to agronomic and environmental services is important. However, their low level of subsidies, a lack of knowledge about their management and a disinterest of these surfaces in favour of more productive forage production have accelerated their downturn. The upgrade of these surfaces in forage systems in particular by studying services of PG is an important issue. In this context, the objective of our study was to identify pedoclimatic and management practices descriptors and characteristics of the vegetation relevant to predict these services. Our approach was based on different steps: i) identification and characterization of forage and environmental services relevant to the PG, ii) identification of aptitude criteria (herbage quality, amount of nectar available ...) which allow to assess the degree of achievement of the services, iii) prediction of values for each criterion of aptitude from characteristics of vegetation (botanical and functional composition) and iv) building links between characteristics of vegetation and pedoclimatic (temperature, soil moisture) and management practices (fertilization, date of first cut) descriptors. From the literature survey, expertise and farm surveys we selected the forage and environmental services, the criteria of aptitude, the characteristics of vegetation and pedoclimatic and management practices descriptors. In total, four environmental services and 11 feed services were studied, taking into account the 12 characteristics of the vegetation (botanical composition (presence and dominance of species) and functional composition (life traits and properties of species)), 15 pedoclimatic descriptors (temperature, soil moisture ...) and 19 management practices descriptors (fertilization, intensity of use of grassland...). The study of a national network of 190 grasslands allowed us to show that botanical and functional composition are non-redundant and influenced by different pedoclimatic and management practices descriptors. The functional composition is influenced by pedoclimatic and management practices descriptors while the botanical composition, which uses a larger number of descriptors, is mainly predicted by pedoclimatic descriptors. The model predictions are better for the botanical composition than for the functional composition. The study of this network and of an experiment in control conditions allowed us to evaluate the quality of prediction of criteria of aptitude for forage services from the functional composition (functional types (FT), proportion of grasses, legumes and forbs, middle stage and dry matter content) of the vegetation. The study in a common environment of three grasslands contrasted on FT composition confirms on the whole growth season the differences in quality and production of grassland that are linked to the FT composition. In contrast, at the scale of the national grassland network, FT composition alone is not sufficient to predict the observed differences in production and quality. Other characteristics of vegetation such as the proportion of legumes and forbs, as well as the mean stage of vegetation or the dry matter content also contribute to explain the differences in production and quality between grasslands. Finally, a multicriteria approach allowed us to build an evaluation method of forage and environmental services from the criteria of aptitude. Thus, this thesis work allowed the development of a method to predict the forage and environmental services provided by permanent grasslands from the knowledge of pedoclimatic characteristics, management practices and of simple vegetation criteria

Estudo da influência da temperatura nas propriedades magnéticas e na microestrutura nos ímãs permanentes à base de Pr-Fe-B-Nb-Co obtidos com hidrogênio / Study of the influence of the temperature in the magnetic properties and in microstructure in the permanent magnets Pr-Fe-B-Nb-Co based obtained by hydrogen

Silva, Suelanny Carvalho da 23 November 2007 (has links)
Ligas com altas concentrações de cobalto (12 at.% and 16 at.%) foram processadas a 840°C. / Fine magnetic powders were produced using the hydrogenation disproportionation desorption and recombination (HDDR) process. The first stage in this work involved an investigation of the effect of the Co content and range of desorption/ recombination temperatures between 800 and 900°C with the purpose of optimizing the HDDR treatment for Pr14Fe80B6 and Pr14FebalCoxB6Nb0,1 (x= 0, 4, 8, 10, 12, 16) alloys. The cast alloys were annealed at 1100°C for 20 hours for homogenization. The processing temperature (desorption/ recombination) affected the microstructure and magnetic properties of the bonded magnets. The alloy with low cobalt content (4 at.%) required the highest reaction temperature (880°C) to yield anisotropic bonded magnets. The optimum temperature for alloys with 8 at.% Co and 10 at.% Co were 840°C and 820°C, respectively. Alloys with high cobalt content (12 at.% and 16 at.%) were processed at 840°C. The optimum desorption temperature for achieving high anisotropy for Pr14Fe80B6 and Pr14Fe79,9B6Nb0,1 was 820°C. The best remanence (862mT) was achieved with the Pr14Fe67,9B6Co12Nb0,1 magnet, processed at 840°C. Each alloy required an optimum reaction temperature and exhibited a particular microstructure according to the composition. The second stage of the work involved the characterization, for each temperature, of the Pr14Fe80B6 HDDR powder processed using X-ray diffraction analysis. The samples of the HDDR material were studied by synchrotron radiation powder diffraction using the Rietveld method for cell refinement, phase quantification and crystallite sizes determination. Scanning electron microscopy (SEM) has also been employed to reveal the morphology of the HDDR powder.

Efeitos da adição de surfactante e moagem de alta velocidade  em pós magnéticos à base de Pr-Fe-B obtidos via HDDR / Effects of surfactant addition and high-speed ball milling on magnetic powders based on Pr-Fe-B obtained by HDDR

Santos, Patricia Brissi 27 October 2011 (has links)
This work verified the effect caused by adding the surfactant in the high speed/energy milling in order to obtain Pr12Fe65.9Co16B6Nb0.1 magnetic nanopowders. The first part of this work involved the magnetic powder obtainment through the process of hydrogenation, disproportionation, desorption and recombination (HDDR). The pressure of H2 during the hydrogenation and disproportion steps was 930 mbar and the temperature of desorption and recombination was 840 ºC. Initially, the HDDR powders were subjected a highspeed milling process at 900 rpm, with quantity variations of the milling medium (cyclohexane) and without the addition of oleic acid. Then, the HDDR powders were subjected to the milling process with the addition of oleic acid and with milling time variations. After the milling process, heat treatments of the powder were carried out at 700 °C or 800 °C for 30 minutes in order to obtain the crystallization of the powder. By performing the procedures, it was verified that the milling efficiency improved with the addition of 6.6 ml of cyclohexane as the milling medium and with the addition of oleic acid. It was determined that for the surfactant additions of 0.02 ml to 0.05 ml, with a milling time of up to 360 minutes, powder agglomeration does not occur in the milling pot and the milling efficiency is higher than 90%. The second stage of this work involved the magnetic powders characterization obtained by using vibrating sample magnetometer, scanning electron microscopy, transmission electron microscopy and X-ray diffraction. Through the characterizations it was found that the powders magnetic properties improved when the addition of oleic acid in a high-speed /energy milling occurred. It was also verified that the α-Fe phase, present in the powder, shows a crystallite size decrease (from 35 nm to ~ 10 nm) when the time milling variation occurred; meanwhile, the crystallinity degree was lower in the Pr2Fe14B phase when the time milling variations was carried out.

Influência da rigidez vertical no comportamento mecânico e dimensionamento da via permanente ferroviária. / Influence of vertical stiffness on elastic behavior and desing of railroad tracks.

Monteiro, Daniel Tsukamoto 26 October 2015 (has links)
The railway track is an essential element in the composition of rail transport and its performance should be adequate to ensure both safety and comfort. Therefore, several aspects should be analyzed still in the project phase, through project designs that compare the response of the track from the point of view of different parameters and some stablished limits. Thus, the knowledge of the mechanical behavior of the track due to stresses imposed by the passage of rolling stock becomes essential to the design of a structure which ensures the necessary requirements, without being uneconomic. Since this mechanical behavior is very sensitive to vertical stiffness of the structure, this thesis presents some analyses about the influence of this parameter in the track response and, consequently, in its design. In this context, the research covers both the case of ballasted tracks with freight trains and the case of slab tracks with passenger trains in urban areas. In the first case, parametric studies are performed by means of classical and mechanistic models with analyses of bending moments and deflections in rails, as well as the vertical stresses on ballast, sub-ballast and subgrade layers. In the second, it was analyzed in the parametric studies the transmission and attenuation of vibrations causing ground borne vibration. In addition to these, there is also an analysis of the influence of the vertical stiffness in dynamic amplification of the static loads, which can be applied to both the mentioned cases and even extrapolated to cases of high-speed railways. The results showed that stiffness increases result in positive gains from the point of view of bending moments and deflections in rails, as well as higher strength and dissipation of vertical stresses on ballast, sub-ballast and subgrade layers. On the other hand, this increase of stiffness also lead to higher pressures on the layers cited, in addition to attenuation of vibrations in lower frequency ranges and higher dynamic amplifications of static loads in the case of high-speed operation. Thus, the influence of vertical stiffness should not be analyzed in a generic way, because, depending on the parameter of the track response considered, it can represent a positive or negative influence.

This work proposes a study about the influence of the bearing area allocation in hermetic compressors for refrigeration, considering a single phase Line Start Permanent Magnets Synchronous Motor, and employing conventional analytical calculations and the Finite Element Method (MEF). Recent increase in concern about energy efficiency has led many countries to roll out laws that impose requirements to raise the electric motor efficiency. In this context the LSPMSM motor is an alternative over conventional induction motors for the purpose of seeking power consumption reduction. However, the requirement to allocate a large area for the bearing and thus removal of ferromagnetic materials of the rotor can reduce LSPMSM motor performance what may impede its implementation. For the accomplishment of this study it was adopted a methodology of design available in the literature to set up the steps to be followed. Such design reference was at first described to be applied in three phase LSPMSM, however in this work it was applied in a single phase motor. Tests results were compared with data obtained via computer simulations in a way to validate the proposed method and to assess the impact of material removal from de rotor on the motor performance. The obtained bench test results were close to those simulated ones validating the methodology to be used in single phase motors too. Therefore, it was feasible to notice the influence of the counterbore area in the rotor, which, due to the increased value of the circuit reluctance, changed induced voltage values related to the magnets.
