Cross-platform Frameworks Comparison : Android Applications in a Cross-platform Environment, Xamarin Vs Flutter / En Jämförelse av Cross-platform Ramverk : Android Applikationer i en Cross-plattform Miljö, Xamarin Jämfört med Flutter

Rasmusson Wright, Ylva, Hedlund, Simon January 2021 (has links)
Good performance is important for an application to run smoothly for the end user, but good tools and documentation are just as important for a developer in order tobe able to create good applications in the shortest amount of time.  This paper is comparing the cross-platform frameworks Flutter and Xamarin to find the respective strengths of the frameworks and which one is the better option and in what aspect, the newer Flutter or the well established Xamarin. We did this by studying related works to the topic as well as building applications in each framework with methods to test the performance of the applications, all the while trying out the tools and documentation of each framework. Our initial hypothes is was that Xamarin as a mature framework would perform better on average and it would also have more well developed tools. However we instead found Xamarin severely lacking compared to the newer Flutter framework and were at best equal or just slightly better. Flutter outperformed Xamarin in CPU performance, at times 3 times better than Xamarin, Flutter’s application size being almost half of the Xamarin application and the Flutter application load times were also faster. The tools were for most parts equal but the results of the documentations were split, with Xamarin having better component documentation with code examples for the components and Flutter having inconsistencies in documentation structure. However the Xamarin documentation was severely lacking in updated documentation and confusing instructions at places. The only things Xamarin performed better on were the number of lines in the codeas well as being marginally better performing at the RAM capacity test. The conclusion would be that Flutter is a well performing framework that continues to develop while Xamarin feels stagnant and most of its development seems to have slowed down over the last two years

A Resource-Aware Federated Learning Simulation Platform

Leandro, Fellipe 07 1900 (has links)
The increasing concerns regarding users‘ data privacy leads to the infeasibility of distributed Machine Learning applications, which are usually data-hungry. Federated Learning has emerged as a privacy-preserving distributed machine learning paradigm, in which the client dataset is kept locally, and only the local model parameters are transmitted to the central server. However, adoption of the Federated Learning paradigm leads to new edge computing challenges, since it assumes computationally intensive tasks can be executed locally by each device. The diverse hardware resources in a population of edge devices (e.g., smartphone models) can negatively impact the performance of Federated Learning, at both the global and local levels. This thesis contributes to this context with the implementation of a hardware-aware Federated Learning platform, which provides comprehensive support regarding the impacts of hardware heterogeneity on Federated Learning performance metrics by modeling the costs associated with training tasks on aspects of computation and communication.

Rozšíření komunikačního protokolu MPKT na platformě .NET / MPKT communication protocol extension on .NET platform

Görlich, Tomáš January 2009 (has links)
This thesis is focused on extension of MPKT 2008 communication protocol. It has been made analysis of this protocol version and proposals to improve and extend this version with other options have been raised. It has been created a new version of the protocol on the basis of the proposals. Then the .NET platform has been presented and its architecture has been described. The C# language available on the .NET platform has been chosen to implement the new protocol version and its facilities for network communication and threading have been described. It has been said an assessment of the application of this programming language in practical lessons. A proposal to update tutorial texts has been made.

Plan de Negocios: CO-DENT

Bretel Morales, Denisse, Holguín Vásquez, Luis Alonso, Ruiz Velit, Andrea Elizabeth 06 November 2019 (has links)
In recent years, Peruvian healthcare market has changed. Private investment has increased, however, in reference to Dentistry, this has only showed increased number of franchises, which doesn´t allow general dentists to make a living; thus, there is an increased number of general dentists looking for another way to establish a private practice, never the less, dental office hi maintenance and elevated prices has become a limitation for those who try to accomplish this; making them look for another kind of opportunity, such as, sharing or renting offices. On the other hand, those who actually install a dental office have idle capacity, due to the fact that there is a large amount of dentists in Lima; thus, there is the possibility to rent for hours the dental office in order to pay elevated costs, and even, generating attractive incomes. In this globalized world, where technology and collaborative economy are a big part or daily activities, it wouldn’t be strange (it would be expected), to develop and implement technological tools that allow dental office owners, who have idle capacity installed, to offer their space for rent and, to dentists who doesn’t have a dental office, an easy way to locate according to location, equipment or schedule availability. Each year, there appear new collaborative economy projects, such as UBER, Airbnb; which, when applied to Dentistry, can become as profitable as that business model. In a city, as big as Lima, it´s important to make efficient use of time and patients look for optimizing theirs. One way of doing this is to look for dental attention in an office close to their home or their workplace. Speaking about collaborative economy, the development of a web portal is raised, one in which dental offices owners with idle capacity can advertise their space; and for dentists who look for an office to work can access to one that meets the requirements for their needs. / Trabajo de investigación
