Ustanovení neměnného chování potkanů v nové úloze asociativního učení na jeden pokus (OTTAT) / The establishment of invariable behaviour of rats in novel one-trial trace association task (OTTAT)

Animal episodic-like memory tasks represent important component of episodic memory research. However, currently available episodic-like memory tasks are not based on episodic-like memory or encompass important caveats. In our laboratory, we recently devised a novel one-trial trace association task (OTTAT) to examine one-time associations of temporally discontinuous stimuli. This thesis deals with the improvement of OTTAT protocol by rat strain and compartment divider ('doors') selection which optimally promote the establishment of invariable behaviour of rats in OTTAT. Moreover, the accuracy of one-trial associations is also assessed by determining specificity of "rapid escape" response to conditioned stimulus of given sound characteristics. In Experiment 1, rats (Sprague-Dawley (SD), n = 36; Wistar (WI), n = 17; Long-Evans (LE), n = 8) were habituated 15 min daily for 3 days with standard doors (9 x 11 cm opening) to modified light and dark apparatus. The number of transfers between compartments and values of time spent in dark compartment obtained from 3rd habituation session were evaluated as indicators of invariable behaviour of rats. We found WI rats spend significantly more time in dark compartment than LE (p = 0.002) and SD rats (p = 0.001) and have significantly fewer transfers than LE rats...

ABSTRACT: The thesis stems from the basic need to support and develop natural science education. Based on didactic, technical-economic and ergonomic requirements, a teaching tools kit has been created, which facilitates 100 natural science experiments. The kit includes a methodological manual; further methodological support is also provided on the webpage of the kit's manufacturer. To complement the kit, a concept of an optional teacher training course Natural Science Experiments for Preschools and Primary Schools has been created. The course will take place at the Pedagogical Faculty of Charles University in the school year 2013/2014. During the course of the thesis, didactic research methods were used to choose, process, test, organize, and optimise educational experiments. The pedagogical methods used included questionnaires and expert testimonials. The thesis provides a substantial response to the current educational needs in the field of natural science pre-literacy already at preschools and natural science literacy at primary schools. This thesis is focused on analysing chemical experiments and their potential to help increase science literacy among vocational school students. Currently, greater emphasis is placed on the development of scientific and critical thinking at higher cognitive levels and science literacy. These skills and abilities can be achieved through tuition based on experimental scientific activities. For this reason, the main goal of this thesis was to review the quantity and method of processing of individual experiments in terms of quality and compliance with the given requirements. Experiments in the field of organic chemistry were taken from available vocational school literature and were analysed and evaluated. These sources were the following textbooks: Chemie pro střední školy, Chemie pro studijní obory SOŠ a SOU nechemického zaměření and the web page Studium chemie and the video database of chemistry experiments. Each experiment was evaluated whether it met the analysed criteria of transparency, connection with practical life, problem solving and material, technical, time and economic simplicity. The thesis also analyzes in what types of tasks are pupils more successful and what type of problem solution they prefer. The practical part contains four worksheets with inquiry based tasks, which were created and presented to primary school pupils for the purposes of this thesis. The next part of the thesis is a summary of pupils' solutions, which are discussed at the end of the thesis.

The first part of this thesis is focused on the advantages of using the experiments during the physics education and their educational values. Furthermore, some types of experiments, their correct metodology of implementation and some other aspects which should be given an appropriate attention by the teacher are theoretically described. Then, some types of demonstrational sets and their brief history are described. The attention is aimed at the demonstrational set of DIDAKTIK, its content and composition. One chapter is devoted to the research of schools equipment for using the demonstrational experiments of electricity and magnetism and their evaluations. The last part deals with some experiments which can be made within this set, their documentation and evaluation. Further, there were worksheets created for some of these experiments. Two of these sheets were used among primary schools for didactic exploring and the reasults were evaluated.

The Unfit Preparation and Attempt of Criminal Offence Abstract The question of unfit preparation and attempt is one of the most discussed as well as most unclear areas of substantive criminal law. Even though a lot of theoretical works have been dedicated to this topic (particularly in the past), a considerable amount of questions connected to unfit preparation and attempt still remains unanswered. The fact, that the written law itself usually governs only certain aspects of the problem (e.g. the current Czech Criminal Code specifically mentions the unfit preparation and attempt in just one provision of - section 46, par. 3). The aim of this thesis was to provide a comprehensive account of the unfit preparation and attempt in the legal theory, legal acts and case law and offer solutions to several problems of current legislation. Unfit attempt and preparation of criminal offence can be understood as specific types of attempt and preparation of criminal offence - the major difference between "regular" fit attempt/preparation and unfit attempt/preparation being the fact that unfit attempt/preparation cannot result in a completed crime, due to the absence of one of the substantial elements of criminal offence. This diploma thesis deals with increase of motivation of primary school pupils for school subject ? physics, focusing on preparation for lessons of physics by means of experiments carried out at home. The target of this thesis is to produce a set of worksheets and supportive educational material as an instrument which might increase the interest of primary school pupils in this subject and which might become an important motivating element. In the process of production of the worksheets theoretical principles of a specific area, results of a scientific survey related to the topic and results of individual research assessing opinions of pupils and parents on experimental activities performed at home were used. Experimental activity performed at home obviously supports development of physical thinking, sensitivity, creativity, improves particular key competences and activates interest in physics as a branch of science. Pupils discover yet unknown facts which establishes foundations of authentic learning of natural laws by a human.

Přírodovědný koutek na 1. stupni ZŠ - současný stav a možnosti využívání v učení o přírodě / A corner of natural sciences at grammar school current state and possibilities of its use in teaching about nature

Presented thesis focuses on the analysis of the current state of natural science corners in Czech grammar schools and of their use in teaching about nature. All fundamental information was obtained through a survey using questionnaires. The analysis is based on a cross-sectional survey amongst 47 teachers that at present teach at grammar school (1st to 5th grade). Every subjects was asked to fill in a questionnaire containing 19 questions regarding natural science corners in subject's school. Presented graphs show the frequency of the most common answers from the pool of all obtained answers. The results clearly indicate the prevailing opinion of teachers on corners of natural science and shed light on their typical way of use in teaching about nature. Furthermore, the thesis also includes suggestions of educational activities that can be organized in a corner of natural science.

The theme of my graduation theses is ?The contribution to study and prevention of ephebic suicides?. More and more attention has been payed to problems of suicide behavior nowadays. But the prevention of suicide behavior has not been properly described yet and open to the public especially to teachers and pedagogical workers. It is necessary to focuse on a group of teenagers because there are more suicide attempts among these young people recently. Psychologists and doctors as well as teachers and pedagogical workers should pay more attention to these problems. Good knowledge of these problems and a readiness to help could often prevent suicide attempts. In the first / theoretical part I will describe problems of suicide behavior with a view to a group of teenagers. Basic terms will be explained, I will describe kinds of suicides, the influence of age, gender, seasons and week days on comitting suicides. I will define a suicide with a view to medical, psychological and sociological aspects. At the end of this part I will write about myths and facts concerning suicides and about the prevention of suicide behavior. In the second / practical part I will use a comparative method to confront case studies of teenagers who tried to commit suicide. I will search for especially pedagogical aspects and marks leading to the determination of abnormal behaviour to be able to prevent teenagers from comitting suicides.

The presented graduation thesis is entitled {\clqq}Health and Social Services For Suicidal Patients``. Lot of learned papers were written on the suicide theme by researches who are trying to find out specific causes, motives, symptoms and interventions related to suicidal behavior. The professional care includes both medical and non-medical support. In case of an individual who attempted to take his/her life, the help starts after the intervention of the lifesaving service or other factors, mostly in the anaesthesiological-resuscitation wards and intensive care units. As soon as the patient is outside danger to life, he is subjected to a psychological and psychiatric examination. After repeated suicidal tendencies are excluded by the psychiatrist, the care of the client is handed over to outpatient psychiatric clinic. An option of psychotherapy is also considered. His/her integration into normal life may be supported by healh and social services that are the subject of this thesis. This thesis is divided into a theoretical part and a research part. The theoretical part deals with definitions of terms related to the theme of the graduation thesis {--} suicide, affecting factors, types of suicidal behavior, health and social services for suicidal individuals. The aim of the thesis is to map out the situation in the health and social services rendered to suicidal clients in the Region of Jihlava and to establish the knowledgeability about these services among the population or clients´ satisfaction with these services, as exemplified by several case studies. The case studies also describe the treatment of patients after the suicidal attempt, how the life of suicide attempters has changed since the attempt, how do they perceive their suicide attempt retrospectively and also what should be done so that their troubles do not occur again. The existing thesis may give an insight into the health and social services situation in the region of Jihlava, into availability or non-availability of the services in the region, and may give an idea for broadening health and social services for suicidal individuals.
