Vícerodinná terapie v léčbě poruch příjmu potravy : zavedení do praxe v České republice a pilotní ověření účinnosti / Multifamily Therapy in the Treatment of Eating Disorders

Tomanová, Jana January 2011 (has links)
This paper gives the summary of the six-year operations of multi-family therapy programme in eating disorders at The Eating Disorders Centre at The Psychiatric Clinic, Prague. The research done has been the first experience with multi-family treatment of psychiatric patients in the Czech Republic. This therapy concept is often used abroad as a form of work with patients suffering from the diagnosis of eating disorders. It is a "first choice" method due to NICE Guideline(2004). The inspiration for the Prague team was the London Maudsley model. The main aims of the research were: 1/ to introduce this therapeutic approach into a complex treatment of patients suffering from eating disorders, optimize the functioning structure and programme and stabilize the therapeutic team and 2/ to evaluate the effectiveness of multi-family treatment and suggest the suitable metodology. Since 2004 twenty families which form the observed group have been involved in the project. The combination of qualitative and quantitative methodology was chosen during the primary stage of the research. The methods used were: questionnaires of Beck Depression Inventory (BDI),Schwartz scale of therapy assessment (SOS-10), the life quality questionnaire (SQUALA) and Rosenberg self-concept questionnaire (RSE). We evaluated ten...

Brain Activation Sequences / Brain Activation Sequences

Šusta, Marek January 2017 (has links)
Brain Activation Sequences Abstract INTRODUCTION: This research goes beyond the EEG source localization up to the field of brain connectivity in an attempt to create software tool that eases diagnostic procedures in selected nosologic units by discriminating between patients and healthy controls. METHODS: Experiment 1 - a group of 26 adult patients (14 male, 12 female) suffering from NC and 10 adult controls (5 male, 5 female) participated in the experiment. The experiment contained audio recordings designed to trigger laughter in participants during the EEG recording. Experiment 2 - twenty eight female inpatients diagnosed with ED and ten healthy controls were selected and presented with various stimuli while the EEG was recorded. The Brain Activation Sequences method, applied to all recordings, utilizes nonlinear differential model structure to calculate final output sequence of the brain locations involved substantially in the stimulus processing. RESULTS: Experiment 1 - the BAS results show statistically significant differences in activity between patients and controls namely in gyrus orbitalis, rectus, occipitalis inferior (right), occipitalis medius (right), paracentralis, cinguli, cuneus (right) and parahippocampalis (left). Experiment 2 - the results confirm significant differences in processing the...

Sociální příčiny mentální bulimie / Social causes of bulimia nervosa

Blahotová Kostková, Tereza January 2017 (has links)
This master's thesis deals with the topic of social causes of bulimia nervosa. In the first part of my thesis I focus on the theoretical introduction. I present the matter of eating disorders in general, which I consider to be an important basis for another part of my work. I am dealing here with the general introduction - what are eating disorders, which eating disorders are known to us, I introduce their causes, consequences, sexuality issues in patients with eating disorders and, last but not least, eating disorders in men and children. For a better understanding of the disease, the theoretical introduction is supplemented by brief client testimonials from my practice. In the next part of the thesis I deal with the topic itself, the social causes of bulimia nervosa. I focus on the issue of the family and its possible influence on the origin of the illness. Furthermore, the influence of society as such, especially the relationship of society to the ideal of beauty and the development of the ideal of beauty in history. I explore the influence of the printed media, television, advertising on bulimia nervosa as well. The last part of my work is a qualitative survey. It consists of three case studies and an interview with four respondents.

Komorbidita abúzu alkoholu a poruch příjmu potravy: Prevalence poruch příjmu potravy u žen hospitalizovaných pro abúzus alkoholu / Comorbidity of Alcohol Abuse and Eating Disorders: Prevalence of Eating Disorders among Women Hospitalized for Alcohol Abuse

Rolová, Gabriela January 2017 (has links)
Introduction: Results of previous studies have shown a significant association be- tween alcohol abuse and eating disorders which often co-occur as a comorbidity. The co-occurrence of these diseases brings significant medical, social, and psychological complications and predicts a worse course of both disease and outcomes. Objectives: The aim of this thesis is to verify the association between the alcohol abuse and eating disorders by detecting the prevalence of anorexia nervosa, bulimia nervosa and binge eating disorder in women who are receiving the treatment for alcohol abuse. Methods: The survey includes 51 women hospitalized for alcohol abuse in PN Bohnice. The data were obtained during the questionnaire survey using the Munich Eating Disorder Questionnaire (Munich ED-Quest) and the Alcohol Use Disorders Identifi- cation Test (AUDIT), supplemented by socio-demographic questions. The data were analyzed using descriptive statistics in SPSS. Results: In total, 25.5% of respondents suffer from eating disorders at some point. Currently, 9.8% of women with an average age of 38.6 years with a median of 40 years suffer from eating disorder. In the past, 23,5% of respondents were affected by eating disorders. For the current period, 1.96% of women have met the diagnostic criteria for anorexia nervosa and...

Nové analogy anorexigenních neuropeptidů ovlivňujících příjem potravy / New analogs of anorexigenic neuropeptides involved in food intake regulation

Pražienková, Veronika January 2016 (has links)
This work focuses on anorexigenic neuropeptides, cocaine- and amphetamine-regulated transcript (CART) and prolactin-releasing peptide (PrRP), which decrease food intake and body weight. CART peptide is an anorexigenic neuropeptide and, despite many efforts, its receptor has not yet been identified. We found CART peptide specific binding sites in pheochromocytoma PC12 cells. Cells differentiated to neurons increased significantly the number of binding sites. On the other hand, after differentiation to chromaffin cells the number of binding sites was so low that it was impossible to determine their density. To clarify the importance of each of the three disulfide bridges in the CART molecule, analogs with one or two disulfide bridges were synthetized. The biological activity was maintained in analog with two disulfide bridges in positions 74-94 and 88-101. Moreover, we demonstrated the stimulation of JNK and subsequently c-Jun activation in PC12 cells. Neuropeptide PrRP belongs to the RF-amide peptide family and has anorexigenic properties. PrPR has a high affinity to GPR10 and neuropeptide FF (NPFF2) receptor. In our laboratory lipidized analogs of PrRP were synthesized, which are able to decrease food intake after peripheral administration and may cross the blood-brain barrier. We tested biological...

Potravní ekologie netopýra velkého (Myotis myotis) / Trophic ecology of the greater mouse-eared bat (Myotis myotis)

Bendová, Barbora January 2015 (has links)
In 2012 it was observed foraging ecology of the three males of greater mouse-eared bat (Myotis myotis), inhabiting individual roosts in the interior of road bridge near Bernartice, and the nearest nursery colony of the same species in the village Senožaty (district Pelhřimov). In the period April to September in Senožaty were made 14 collections at intervals of approximately 14 days and in the bridge near Bernartice at similar intervals were made 8 collections from each male in the period from May to September. From each collection were subsequently been analyzed 20 samples (pellets) by the traditional method of preparation of faeces. Overall it was from all the bats analyzed 760 samples, of which 280 from the nursery colony and 480 from males. Based on the analysis was found diet composition of individual bats and of the colony, where the overall character of the trophic niche of the greater mouse-eared bat, seasonal dynamics in it's diet composition, sex differences and individual differences between males were observed. From a point of view of it's hunting strategy the greater mouse-eared bat showed itself as a ground gleaner, in whose diet were dominated larger Coleoptera, of which the predominant component were large, flightless, mostly forest Carabidae, adding medium and smaller species of...

Orthorexia nervosa v kontextu internetu a sociálních sítí / Orthorexia nervosa, Social media and the Internet

Králová, Daniela January 2020 (has links)
This study focuses on an obsession with healthy eating called orthorexia nervosa, a term coined by Steven Bratman. It describes a pathological fixation on healthy eating, with a negative influence on the quality of human life. The study aimed to present orthorexia in the context of the Internet, social media, and the wellness industry. The research sample was composed of 324 participants aged 15 to 68 (M = 34), interested in healthy eating. The data was obtained via an online two-part questionnaire. The first part explored the healthy eating lifestyle of the participants (motivation, sources, healthy eating influencers, diets, time spent on the Internet, positive and negative aspects of a healthy diet). The second part was focused on orthorexic tendencies measured by ORTO-15. There was no difference in orthorexic tendencies between people who visit healthy eating websites frequently as well as between people who use social networks to follow healthy food influencers. Also, there was no difference in orthorexic tendencies between people whose work/study deals with healthy eating and those whose physical appearance is important for their job. It was found out that the wellness influencer trend is not very common in Czech society, popular influencers are mainly Czech nutritionists and fitness coaches. The...
