The fertility rate and the rate of pregnancy after time fixed artificial insemination were measured in more than five hundred beef cows during the experimental period. At the beginning and at the ending of breeding season fifteen cows were submitted to the needle test to evaluate the bone resistance. Monthly the total costs and the intake of mineral supplements were measured and registered in a spreadsheet. There was no difference in the reproductive parameters when cows were fed with commercial supplement (3,8 gP/day) or a selective mineral supplement (0,39 gP/day). However, the annual cost with commercial supplement was 203,9 @ of beef cattle whereas the selective supplement was only 51,4@. During the time where the herd was supplemented with selective mineral mixture, there was no sign of mineral deficiency; e.g. phosphorus deficiency. / O presente estudo avaliou os aspectos reprodutivos e econ?micos de matrizes bovinas de corte submetidas a dois tipos de suplementa??o mineral, contendo diferentes quantidades de f?sforo, durante o per?odo de 2012 a 2014. O rebanho foi proveniente de duas fazendas situadas no munic?pio de Valen?a-RJ. Foram utilizadas aproximadamente 500 matrizes de v?rios grupos gen?ticos (Nelore, ? e ? de sangue da ra?a Nelore), mantidas exclusivamente a pasto e submetidas ? monta natural ou ? IATF. As vari?veis avaliadas foram a fertilidade geral do rebanho, total de matrizes prenhes com IATF e total de matrizes prenhes pelo repasse dos touros. No in?cio e no fim da esta??o de monta as matrizes foram submetidas ao teste da agulha, com objetivo de verificar a resist?ncia ?ssea. Mensalmente foi realizada a coleta de dados referente aos gastos e ao consumo com os suplementos minerais para estimar a quantidade adquirida, o custo total com a suplementa??o mineral, o consumo total e o consumo m?dio di?rio (g/UA/dia). N?o foram observadas diferen?as em rela??o aos ?ndices reprodutivos do rebanho frente aos dois esquemas de suplementa??o mineral. Entretanto, a despesa anual com a suplementa??o mineral seletiva foi equivalente a 51,4@ de gado de corte/ano e os gastos anuais com a suplementa??o mineral completa foram de 203,9@/ano, resultando em expressiva economia para o pecuarista. Durante o per?odo de estudo o rebanho n?o apresentou sinais de defici?ncia de f?sforo.

For this goal, performance data provided by the Brazilian Association of Zebu Breeders related to 560 Sindhi breed females from 28 different herds in Brazil, born in the period from 1987 to 2011, were used. The traits age at first calving, calving interval, reproductive efficiency, total milk yield and lactation period were analyzed, being submitted to the principal components and cluster analysis, with the aid of GENES? statistical program. By the principal components analysis, these five components were estimated, and the first three explained 90.79% of the data?s total variation. The traits considered most relevant to the discrimination of the data set, in decreasing order of importance, were: calving interval, lactation period, age at first calving, total milk yield, and reproductive efficiency. By cluster analysis, twelve different groups were generated from the pool of Sindhi herds analyzed, with a great homogeneity among females for the traits evaluated, and only few females generating separate groups. Four hundred and twenty-nine females were clustered in one group, representing 76.60% of the genotypes. This indicates that, although there are genotypes with large genetic diversity, more than two thirds of the animals are similar to the traits evaluated, showing a high degree of relationship between them. The traits for total milk yield showed 71.92% of the total variation, and age at first calving contributed with 23.06% of the variation, being the two most important traits for the variability of the data. Thus, there is evidence of divergence between the groups regarding total milk yield, indicating that this trait stands out in the differentiation of groups, and these groups could be benchmarks for the use of genetic improvement programs whose focus is the increase in milk yield. In conclusion, the multivariate procedures were effective to summarize the evaluated information and to discriminate the most important traits, providing better identification of the most appropriate females to certain herds or milk production systems. The analysis of the relative contribution was effective in identifying total milk yield and age at first calving as the most relevant traits for the differentiation of groups, and they can be useful targets for genetic improvement programs that focus on milk yield and reproductive precocity. / O objetivo deste trabalho foi verificar a possibilidade de forma??o de diferentes grupos produtivos na ra?a Sindi por meio de t?cnicas multivariadas, a fim de se direcionar as a??es nos programas de melhoramento gen?tico nesta ra?a. Para tanto, foram utilizados dados de desempenho fornecidos pela Associa??o Brasileira dos Criadores de Zebu (ABCZ) referentes a 560 f?meas da ra?a Sindi procedentes de 28 rebanhos dos diferentes estados do Brasil, nascidas entre 1987 a 2011. Desse modo, foram analisadas as caracter?sticas idade ao primeiro parto, intervalo de partos, efici?ncia reprodutiva, produ??o de leite e dura??o da lacta??o, sendo submetidas ?s an?lises dos componentes principais e de agrupamento com o aux?lio do programa estat?stico GENES?. Pela an?lise dos componentes principais, foram estimados cinco componentes, dos quais os tr?s primeiros explicaram 90,79% da varia??o total dos dados. O primeiro componente explicou 37,18%, o segundo 33,63% e o terceiro 19,97% da vari?ncia total, sendo que esta an?lise possibilitou a discrimina??o das caracter?sticas mais importantes e menos importantes para a varia??o total no conjunto dos dados. As caracter?sticas consideradas mais relevantes para a caracteriza??o do conjunto de dados, em ordem decrescente de import?ncia, foram intervalo de partos, dura??o da lacta??o, idade ao primeiro parto, produ??o total de leite e efici?ncia reprodutiva. Pela an?lise de agrupamentos, observou-se a forma??o de doze diferentes grupos no rebanho Sindi estudado, com uma grande homogeneidade entre os animais para as caracter?sticas avaliadas, com alguns poucos animais formando grupos distintos. Houve a forma??o de um grupo com 429 f?meas, ou seja, 76,60% dos gen?tipos, o que indica que, embora haja gen?tipos com grande diverg?ncia gen?tica entre si, mais da metade ? similar para as caracter?sticas avaliadas, evidenciando um grau estreito de rela??o entre elas. Al?m disso, foi poss?vel observar as caracter?sticas produ??o total de leite, com 71,92% da varia??o total, e idade ao primeiro parto, com 23,06% da varia??o total, como as mais importantes para a variabilidade dos dados. As caracter?sticas com menor variabilidade e, portanto, consideradas menos importantes foram intervalo de partos, dura??o da lacta??o e efici?ncia reprodutiva, com 4,37; 0,61 e 0,02% da varia??o total, respectivamente. Assim, evidenciou-se o distanciamento entre os grupos para as diferentes m?dias de produ??o total de leite, indicando que tal caracter?stica se destaca na diferencia??o dos grupos e que tais grupos poderiam ser referenciais para utiliza??o em programas de melhoramento gen?tico, cujo enfoque seja a obten??o de maiores produ??es de leite. Portanto, conclui-se que os procedimentos multivariados foram eficientes para resumir as informa??es avaliadas e discriminar as caracter?sticas mais importantes, promovendo maior facilidade na identifica??o das f?meas mais adequadas para determinados rebanhos ou sistemas de produ??o de leite. A an?lise da contribui??o relativa das vari?veis foi efetiva na identifica??o das caracter?sticas produ??o total de leite e idade ao primeiro parto como mais relevantes para a diferencia??o dos grupos formados, sendo ?teis para o direcionamento em programas de melhoramento gen?tico cujo enfoque seja maior produ??o de leite e precocidade sexual.

The study was carried out at the Forage and Pastures Sector, Animal Nutrition and Pastures Department, Animal Science Institute in Universidade Federal Rural do Rio de Janeiro, Serop?dica-RJ, Brazil between August and September 2013. Completely randomized design with a factorial arrangement of five (45% N) (0, 1, 2, 3 and 4% based on dry matter) commercial urea doses distributed in a split-plot at two periods (30 and 45 days) for the bags opening, with five replications each was employed. The ammoniated material was stored in (1 kg hay / bag) plastic bags, sealed and after opening, samples were collected for bromathological analysis. No dose effect, time and dose x time interaction for dry matter, ether extract, neutral detergent fiber, acid detergent fiber, hemicellulose, cellulose, lignin, acid detergent insoluble nitrogen, mineral matter, total carbohydrates, B2 fractions and carbohydrates fraction (P> 0.05) were reported. The variables crude protein, neutral detergent insoluble nitrogen and non-fibrous carbohydrates were influenced by urea doses. The ammoniation of Tifton 85 hay with urea at 1; 2; 3: 4% doses on dry matter might promote increases in crude protein and non-fibrous carbohydrates. However, cell wall constituents of the forage might not be altered, as well. / Objetivou-se neste trabalho avaliar as altera??es na composi??o bromatol?gica do feno de Tifton 85 (Cynodon spp) submetido a diferentes doses de ureia e per?odos de tratamento. O trabalho foi conduzido no setor de Forragicultura e Pastagens do Departamento de Nutri??o Animal e Pastagens do Instituto de Zootecnia, da Universidade Federal Rural do Rio de Janeiro, no munic?pio de Serop?dica-RJ, entre os meses de agosto e setembro de 2013. O experimento foi conduzido segundo um delineamento experimental inteiramente casualizado, sendo os tratamentos constitu?dos por cinco doses de ureia pecu?ria (45% de N) (0; 1; 2; 3 e 4% com base da MS) distribu?dos em esquema de parcelas subdivididas, contendo dois per?odos (30 e 45 dias) para a abertura dos sacos, com cinco repeti??es cada. O material amonizado foi armazenado em sacos pl?sticos (1 kg feno/saco), lacrados e, ap?s a abertura, foram coletadas amostras para an?lises bromatol?gicas. The first chapter assessed the nutrition value of hay application of 2, 4, 6 and 8% of urea in two treatment periods (30 and 45 days) and control (not hay ammoniated). The second chapter evaluated the legume soybean, pigeon peas and jack beans sedds as urease sources, with the addition of 1, 2, 3 and 4% in ammoniated hay with urea and the control treatment (ammoniated hay with 4% urea without urease sources). The Experimental design was completely randomized in organized in double factorial arrangement with additional treatment. Dry matter (DM), ash, ether extract (EE), neutral detergent fiber (NDF), neutral detergent fiber corrected for the ash and the protein (NDFap), acid detergent fiber (ADF), cellulose, lignin, total nitrogen (TN), acid detergent insoluble nitrogen (ADIN), neutral detergent insoluble nitrogen (NDIN), Non protein N (NPN), in vitro gas production(Parameters: Vf1, k1, Vf2, K2 e L) and Carbohydrates fractioning were analysed. In the first study, was applied urea different doses at treatment periods, there was a difference (p<0,05) between the control and combination of factorial treatments for DM, EE, NDF, ADF, lignina, cellulose, NDFap, A + B1 fraction, B2 fraction, C fraction, TN, NPN, ADIN, NDIN, k1, L, Vf2, k2. Linear effect from dose was observed to NDFap, ADIN and NDIN and increasing dose to A+B1 fraction, TN, NNP. A quadratic effect for to Vf2, with point absolute maximum of 5,2% urea, and effect treatment period to Vf2 e K2, with higher and lower Vf2 K2 for hay treated 45 days. There was interaction (p<0,01) between sources of urease and level for NDF, ADF and lignin. The addition of 3% soybean or jack bean as a source of urease, resulted in lower NDF, and were not statistically different (p> 0.05), while pork beans had the highest NDF. There was a difference (P<0,05) between the control and combination of factorial treatments for NDF, A + B1 fraction. There was no interaction (p> 0.05) between source application level of urease, but was no effect (p <0.01) of urease source for NPN and ADIN. There was interaction (p <0.05) between source application level of urease to Vf1, but there was no interaction (p> 0.05) for k1, L, Vf2 and k2. Ammoniation urea and adding urease sources is an efficient method for chemical treatment of the elephant grass hay harvested after flowering, mainly by increasing the solubility fiber, in addition to the increased supply of non-protein nitrogen to rumen microorganisms, which resulted in improvement in vitro gas production of the kinetic parameters. / Objetivou-se avaliar o efeito da amoniza??o com aplica??o de diferentes doses de ur?ia em dois per?odos tratamento, e 3 diferentes fontes de urease, sobre o valor nutritivo do feno de capim-elefante colhido ap?s o florescimento, em dois cap?tulos. O primeiro cap?tulo avaliou o valor nutritivo do feno com aplica??o de 2, 4, 6 e 8% de ureia com base na mat?ria seca, em dois per?odos de tratamento (30 e 45 dias) e o controle (feno n?o amonizado),e o segundo que avaliou o efeito da adi??o de gr?os mo?dos das leguminosas soja, feij?o guandu e feij?o de porco como fontes de urease, em niveis de 1, 2, 3 e 4% com base na mat?ria seca do feno amonizado com 4% de ureia, e o tratamento controle (feno amonizado com 4% de ureia sem adi??o de fonte de ur?ase). O Delineamento experimental foi inteiramente casualizado em esquema fatorial duplo com tratamento adicional com 4 repeti??es por tratamento para os dois estudos. Foram realizadas as an?lises de mat?ria seca (MS), cinzas, extrato et?reo (EE), fibra em detergente neutro (FDN), fibra em detergente neutro corrigido para cinzas e prote?nas (FDNcp), fibra em detergente acido (FDA), celulose, lignina, prote?na bruta (PB), nitrog?nio insol?vel no detergente ?cido (NIDA) e produ??o cumulativa de g?s in vitro (Par?metros: Vf1, k1, Vf2, K2 e L) e o fracionamento de carboidratos. No primeiro estudo, houve diferen?a entre controle e a combina??o de tratamentos fatoriais para MS, EE, FDN, FDA, Lignina, celulose, FDNcp, fra??o A + B1, fra??o B2, fra??o C, NT, NNP, NIDA, NIDN, K1, L, Vf2, K2, e efeito (p <0,05) linear decrescente de dose de ureia para FDNcp, NIDA e NIDN e crescente de dose para fra??o A+B1, NT, NNP, efeito quadr?tico crescente de dose de ureia para Vf2 com ponto m?ximo absoluto de 5,2% de ureia.houve efeito de per?odo de tratamento para Vf2 e K2, com maior Vf2 e menor K2 para o feno tratado durante 45 dias. Houve intera??o (p<0,01) entre fonte de ur?ase e n?vel de fonte de ur?ase para FDN, FDA e lignina, sendo que a adi??o de 3,0% de soja ou feij?o guandu como fonte de ur?ase, resultaram em menores valores de FDN. Houve diferen?a (P<0,05) entre o controle e a combina??o de tratamentos fatoriais para FDN e fra??o A + B1 , mas n?o houve diferen?a (p > 0,05) entre o controle e a combina??o de tratamentos fatoriais para mat?ria seca, cinzas e extrato et?reo, mas foi observado efeito (p < 0,01) de fonte de ur?ase para extrato et?reo. N?o houve intera??o (p>0,05) entre fonte de ur?ase de n?vel de aplica??o, mas houve efeito (p<0,01) de fonte de urease para NNP e NIDA. Houve intera??o (p<0,05) entre fonte de ur?ase de n?vel de aplica??o para Vf1, mas n?o houve intera??o (p>0,05) para k1, L, Vf2 e k2. A dose m?nima de 5,2% de ureia durante um per?odo de 45 dias, proporcionou melhoria valor nutricional do feno de capim elefante. A amoniza??o com ureia e adi??o de fontes de ur?ase ? um m?todo eficiente para tratamento qu?mico do feno de capim elefante colhido ap?s o florescimento, principalmente pelo aumento da solubilidade fibra, al?m da maior oferta de nitrog?nio n?o proteico aos microrganismos ruminais, que resultou em melhoria dos par?metros cin?ticos de produ??o de g?s in vitro.

Suplementa??o prot?ico-energ?tica para novilhos Nelore x Red Angus criados em sistema de pastejo na ?poca chuvosa / Prote?c-energetic supplementation for Nellore x Red Angus steers raised in tropical pastures in the wet season

Thirty two steers were used to form 4 groups containing 8 steers each. The experimental treatments were: (1) control (pasture + commercial mineral mix), (2) concentrate (pasture + a concentrate ration, formulated to ensure a gain of 1.10 kg/day), and (3) proteic-energetic supplement containing corn (SCC plus pasture) or (4) wheat midillings (SCW + pasture). The daily weight gain, supplement intake, income over feed costs and the frequency of trough access were measured. The supplement intake was 0.076, 2.77, 0.74 and 0.86 kg/steer/day for the control, concentrate, SCC and SCW group, respectively. There were no differences in the daily weight gain between the 4 groups; the animals that received SCC had the highest gains over feed costs, and the group concentrate had the lowest one. Proteic-energetic supplementation during the wet season can, numerically, improve the daily weight gain, but this nutritional strategic must be done with caution to avoid economic losses. / O presente experimento foi conduzido com o prop?sito de avaliar o efeito de diferentes suplementos prot?ico-energ?ticos sobre o desempenho de novilhos mesti?os F1 Nelore-Red Angus, manejados em pastagem durante o per?odo das ?guas. O experimento foi conduzido na Fazenda Coqueiral de Macab?, localizada na cidade de Anchieta ? Espirito Santo, no per?odo de janeiro a maio de 2007. Os tratamentos consistiram em 4 esquemas de suplementa??o (controle ? suplemento mineral comercial, ra??o, fub? e farelo de trigo), onde utilizou-se 8 novilhos por tratamento. Os animais foram criados em sistema de lota??o continua, recebendo seu respectivo tratamento, ?gua e sendo pesados a cada 28 dias. As vari?veis estudadas foram: consumo, freq??ncia de acesso ao bebedouro, ganho de peso di?rio e a receita menos custo de alimenta??o (RMCA). O consumo estimado dos tratamentos experimentais foi 0,076, 2,77, 0,74 e 0,86 kg/animal/dia para os grupos controle, ra??o, fub? e f. trigo, respectivamente. N?o houve diferen?a significativa (P>0,05) entre os ganhos de peso di?rio (em kg/animal/dia) dos grupos controle (0,67), fub? (0,95) e f. Trigo (0,78); entretanto, o desempenho dos animais do grupo ra??o (1,18) foi similar aos do grupo fub? e superior aos do grupo controle e f. trigo. A an?lise financeira dos tratamentos experimentais mostra que o grupo fub? foi o que resultou na maior RMCA, seguido do grupo controle e f. trigo. O tratamento ra??o (2,77 kg/dia) foi o que resultou na menor RMCA. O grupo controle teve menor freq??ncia de acesso ao bebedouro em rela??o aos demais grupos; o grupo fub? e o grupo f. trigo tiveram comportamento similar, sendo que os animais tiveram tr?s hor?rios di?rios de maior freq??ncia de acesso ao bebedouro; os animais do grupo ra??o tiveram maior porcentagem e distribui??o de freq??ncia de acesso ao bebedouro ao longo do dia. Experiment 1: Four levels of inclusion of BW replacing corn (0, 33, 66, 100%) in the diet of kids distributed in a completely randomized design were analyzed. The diets were composed of concentrate and Cynodon spp. hay, with forage: concentrate ratio of 60:40. The intakes of dry matter, organic matter, crude protein, ether extract and carbohydrates decreased linearly, while the non-fiber carbohydrates intake, animal performance, carcass characteristics and chemical composition were not affected by replacement of corn by BW. The elaidic acid content (C18: 1 trans-9) increased in the fatty acid profile of the Longissimus dorsi muscle with the inclusion of RP, which can be used as a substitute for corn meal in goats feed composition. It was concluded that bakery waste can substitute the corn up to 100% in the concentrate mixture without affecting intake, performance and carcass and meat traits of kids. Experiment 2: Bakery waste was added replacing 0; 25; 50; 75 and 100% of the concentrate in dry matter basis. Five Saanen lactating goats, non-pregnant with an average weight of 55.7 kg were arranged in a 5 x 5 Latin Square design. Experimental diets were composed by Cynodon hay and concentrate, in a roughage:concentrate ration of 40:60. The inclusion of BW in diets decreases the intake of ether extract, acid detergent fiber and the coefficients of apparent digestibility of crude protein and ether extract. Different levels of substitution did not affect ruminal pH, but for the concentration of ruminal ammonia was found linear reduction with the level of replacement. The inclusion of BW in diets increased the efficiency of use of N. The bakery waste can replace conventional concentrate in diets for goats. / Objetivou-se avaliar o efeito da substitui??o do milho pelo res?duo de panifica??o (RP) na dieta de cabritos sobre o desempenho, consumo de mat?ria seca e dos nutrientes, caracter?sticas de carca?a, composi??o qu?mica e perfil dos ?cidos graxos do m?sculo Longissimus dorsi e em cabras em lacta??o o consumo alimentar, a digestibilidade aparente, o balan?o de compostos nitrogenados, os par?metros ruminais, a produ??o e a composi??o do leite. As dietas experimentais foram compostas de concentrado e feno de Cynodon spp, numa rela??o volumoso:concentrado de 40:60 na mat?ria seca. Houve redu??o linear do consumo de EE, do consumo de FDA, da digestibilidade da PB e da digestibilidade do EE. A substitui??o crescente do concentrado pelo RP na dieta n?o influenciou o pH ruminal, por?m reduziu a concentra??o de N-NH3 no l?quido ruminal. A inclus?o do RP em n?veis crescentes nas dietas favoreceu a efici?ncia de utiliza??o de nitrog?nio. O RP pode substituir totalmente o concentrado na dieta de cabras em lacta??o.

This is because the search location, to date, has not yet physical infrastructure necessary for implementation of practical activities related to cattle, study focus of Animal Production discipline 3. A computer program has been developed for agricultural education. We sought to evaluate the previous knowledge and opinions of 27 students through a questionnaire and an initial test. educational workshops were held where program was used as an educational tool for explanation of the races themes, food, health, dairy and meat production, reproduction, disposal and cattle weighing. After the workshops, knowledge was again tested by a final evaluation. We sought to evaluate the teaching resource by applying a final questionnaire with open and closed questions. The two discipline of teachers were also questioned. The results showed that the use of software, based pedagogically favored learning efficiently and aroused the interest of students by technology and the interdisciplinary. / A pesquisa objetivou analisar as contribui??es da aplica??o de um software educativo de gerenciamento de rebanhos na disciplina Produ??o Animal do curso T?cnico em Agropecu?ria do Instituto Federal de Educa??o, Ci?ncia e Tecnologia do Amazonas ? IFAM Campus Mau?s. Uma pesquisa recente motivou esse trabalho, pois apontou que uma das maiores causas de evas?o escolar ? a car?ncia de aulas pr?ticas. Isso ocorre porque o local da pesquisa, at? o presente momento, ainda n?o possui infraestrutura f?sica necess?ria ? execu??o de atividades pr?ticas inerentes ? bovinocultura, foco de estudo da disciplina Produ??o Animal 3. Foi desenvolvido um programa de computador para educa??o agr?cola. Procurou-se avaliar os conhecimentos e opini?es pr?vios dos 27 alunos por meio de um question?rio e uma prova inicial. Foram realizadas oficinas pedag?gicas onde o programa foi utilizado como ferramenta educacional para explana??o dos temas de ra?as, alimenta??o, sanidade, produ??o leiteira e de carne, reprodu??o, descarte e pesagem de bovinos. Ap?s as oficinas, o conhecimento foi novamente testado atrav?s de uma avalia??o final. Procurou-se avaliar o recurso did?tico atrav?s da aplica??o de um question?rio final, com perguntas abertas e fechadas. Os dois professores da disciplina tamb?m foram questionados. Os resultados obtidos apontaram que o uso do software, fundamentado pedagogicamente, favoreceu o aprendizado de modo eficiente e despertou o interesse dos alunos pelas tecnologias e pela interdisciplinaridade.

Thus, the objective of this study was to evaluate and compare the productive and economic performance of beef cattle finishing under three management and feeding systems, namely: at pasture with mineral supplementation (PSM); at pasture with protein-energy supplementation (SPE); And raised at feedlot with high concentrate diet (AG). For this purpose, 60 castrated male bovines, crossbreed Nelore x Angus, which were distributed in a design Completely randomized, with three systems and twenty animals in each. The study was conducted at Fazenda Tr?s Morros, in the city of Casimiro de Abreu. The means of the studied variables were estimated by LSMEANS and compared by PDIFF, at 5% of probability (p<0.05%), of SAS?. The feedlot (AG) presented shorter finishing time (76 days) and higher weight gain (102.2 kg), total daily average gain (1.35 kg.animal-1.day-1) and average daily gain of carcass (1.02 kg.animal-1.day-1), followed by SPE and PSM, respectively, in relation to the finishing time and the average daily gain of carcass. Regarding weight gain and average daily gain, there was no significant difference (p <0.05) between SPE and PSM. In turn, the average carcass weights (ACW), carcass yields (CY), and carcass gains (CG) of AG (ACW 298.3 kg or 19.9@, CY 55.1% and CG 78.3 kg) and SPE (ACW 288.2 kg or 19.2@, CY 56.1% and CG 68.1 kg) were similar to each other and higher (p<0.05) to PSM. The system PSM had the lowest production costs (effective operational cost R$ 2,277, total operational cost R$ 2,323 and total cost R$ 2,466), while the highest effective operational cost was AG (R$ 2,598) and the highest total operational cost (TOC) and total cost (TC) of SPE (TOC of R$ 2,632 and R$ 2,668). The highest gross margin (R$ 341.1) and net margin (R$ 295.9), net result (R$ 153.0), profitability (5.84%) and simple rentability (4.54%) were obtained by PSM, followed by SPE and AG, in that order. However, when the cash flows were corrected by the general price index - domestic availability (GPI-DA), the gross margins (R$ 199.6) and net margin (R$ 152.2) of PSM remained the highest and followed by SPE and AG (respectively), but the other economic indicators were the lowest among the systems. In this way, the highest net result (R$ 70.7), profitability (2.43%) and simple rentability (1.81%) were observed in SPE. Therefore, the feedlot provided the smallest production cycle and increased animal productivity, the pasture system with mineral supplementation allowed the reduction of production costs, while the concentrate supplementation presented better economic result during the dry season of the year 2015. According to the information obtained, both confinement and supplementation with whole maize diet have the potential to be strategic alternatives to the finishing cattle at exclusively pasture, provided satisfactory market conditions. / O crescimento da popula??o mundial tem elevado a demanda por alimento, isso implica em redu??o das ?reas dispon?veis para produ??o animal, o que torna imperativo o desenvolvimento, avalia??o e aplica??o de t?cnicas que propiciem o aumento da produtividade da pecu?ria brasileira. Desta forma, o objetivo deste estudo foi avaliar e comparar o desempenho produtivo e econ?mico da termina??o de bovinos sob tr?s sistemas de manejo e alimenta??o, a saber: a pasto com suplementa??o mineral (PSM); a pasto com suplementa??o prot?ico-energ?tica (SPE); e confinamento com fornecimento de dieta alto gr?o (AG). Para tanto, foram utilizados 60 bovinos machos castrados, ? sangue Nelore x Angus, distribu?dos em um delineamento inteiramente casualizado, em tr?s sistemas e vinte animais em cada. O estudo foi conduzido na Fazenda Tr?s Morros, no munic?pio de Casimiro de Abreu/RJ. As m?dias das vari?veis estudadas foram estimadas pelo LSMEANS e comparadas pela PDIFF, a 5% de probabilidade (p<0,05), do SAS?. J? o sistema PSM obteve os menores custos de produ??o (custo operacional efetivo de R$ 2.277, custo operacional total de R$ 2.323 e custo total de R$ 2.466), enquanto o maior custo operacional efetivo foi de AG (R$ 2.598) e os maiores custo operacional total (COT) e custo total (CT), de SPE (COT de R$ 2.632 e CT R$ 2.668). As maiores margem bruta (R$ 341,1) e l?quida (R$ 295,9), resultado l?quido (R$ 153,0), lucratividade (5,84%) e rentabilidade simples (4,54%) foram obtidas por PSM, seguidas por SPE e AG, nesta ordem. Por?m, quando os fluxos de caixa foram corrigidos pelo ?ndice geral de pre?os ? disponibilidade interna (IGP-DI), as margens bruta (R$ 199,6) e l?quida (R$ 152,2) de PSM permaneceram as mais elevadas e acompanhadas por SPE e AG (respectivamente), contudo, os demais indicadores econ?micos foram os menores entre os sistemas. Desta forma, os maiores resultado (R$ 70,7), lucratividade (2,43%) e rentabilidade simples (1,81%) foram observados em SPE. Portanto, o confinamento proporcionou o menor ciclo de produ??o e maior produtividade animal, o sistema a pasto com suplementa??o mineral possibilitou a redu??o dos custos de produ??o, enquanto a suplementa??o com concentrado apresentou melhor resultado econ?mico, durante a esta??o seca do ano de 2015. A study of polymorphism, variation in gene expression and the association of these variations with the desired phenotype allows to broaden the understanding of the physiological processes, which helps in the strategies aimed at improving the characteristic of interest, resulting in the expected final phenotype. The objective of the present study was to evaluate polymorphisms and gene expression among some of the most promising genotypes of pleiotropic genes, comparing the polymorphism and expression among groups of animals with greater and lesser weight at slaughter to verify if there is any relation with the weight difference Or softness of the flesh. For this purpose, genotypes of 40 goats from the Saanen and Alpina breeds for the growth hormone (GH) gene, diacylglycerol acyltransferase 1 gene (DGAT1), myostatin gene (MSTN), growth factor gene Similar to insulin 1 (IGF1), fatty acid carrier protein (FATP1) gene, nuclear factor 1 (NF1) gene, gamma peroxisome proliferator activated receptor (PPAR?) gene. After analyzing the association of the different genotypes with the slaughter weight (AP), carcass weight (PC) and meat softness expressed in shear force (FC), some genes were selected for the analysis of expression and association with them Variables. The GH, NF1 and PPAR genes were not evaluated for expression, the first for not having presented a good result for the efficiency analysis of the other two primers due to the lack of substantial data for the preparation of the primers. For the softness test, previously performed in another study by the same team, the longissimus lumborum muscle was used. Polymerase chain reaction (PCR) technique was used for the genotyping and later, for some genes, the digestion of the fragments amplified by restriction enzymes, a technique known as PCR-RFLP. Gene expression was conducted using the Real Time PCR technique (qPCR) and the meat tenderness phenotype was analyzed in a texturometer. The data were statistically related using the SAS GLM procedure. The UNIVARIATE procedure was used to verify the normality of residues of expression of the genes under study (expressed as 2-?Ct) and softness data. The averages were compared by the Tukey test and the Pearson correlations tested by the t test. The polymorphism already described in the GH was also detected in the population studied in the present study, the genotype heterozygous AB presented a mean 2.78kg at slaughter weight more than the AA individuals, for the MSTN the individuals with heterozygous M1M2 genotype presented higher scores for weight at slaughter, while for the IGF1 gene the heterozygous AB animals present less tender meat. The group with lower weight at slaughter showed higher expression of the DGAT1 and FATP genes, which may reflect a higher deposition of fat in the carcass and greater softness, in comparison with the group of higher weight. / A carne caprina apresenta teores de gordura abaixo dos encontrados em outros tipos de carne como a de bovino, su?no, ovino e veado. Entretanto, a falta de crit?rio de sele??o para o abate, estocagem e comercializa??o da carne, acaba por gerar um baixo n?vel de consumo, devido ? falta de padroniza??o do produto apresentando caracter?sticas sensoriais desagrad?veis. Estudo de polimorfismo, varia??o na express?o g?nica e associa??o destas varia??es com o fen?tipo desejado permite ampliar a compreens?o sobre os processos fisiol?gicos, al?m de auxiliar programas de melhoramento gen?tico animal para a sele??o de animais com fen?tipos superiores para a caracter?stica de interesse. O objetivo do presente trabalho foi avaliar a associa??o de polimorfismos e express?o g?nica com a caracter?stica peso ao abate e verificar se h? rela??o entre a diferen?a de peso e a maciez da carne. Para este prop?sito foram identificados inicialmente os gen?tipos de cabritos das ra?as Saanen e Alpina para os seguintes genes: horm?nio do crescimento (GH), diacilglicerol aciltransferase 1 (DGAT1), miostatina (MSTN), fator de crescimento semelhante ? insulina 1 (IGF1), prote?na transportadora de ?cidos graxos (FATP1), fator nuclear 1 (NF1), receptor ativado por proliferadores de peroxissomas gama (PPAR?). Ap?s a an?lise de associa??o dos diferentes gen?tipos com o peso ao abate (PA), peso da carca?a (PC) e maciez da carne expressa em for?a de cisalhamento (FC), foram selecionados alguns genes para a an?lises de express?o e associa??o com as mesmas vari?veis. Os genes GH, NF1 e PPAR n?o foram avaliados quanto a express?o, o primeiro por n?o ter apresentado um bom resultado para as analise de efici?ncia dos primers os outros dois devido ? problemas no genoma refer?ncia para a confec??o dos primers. Para o teste de maciez foi utilizado o m?sculo longissimus lumborum. Para a genotipagem foi utilizada a t?cnica da rea??o em cadeia pela polimerase (PCR) e posteriormente, para alguns genes, digest?o dos fragmentos amplificados por enzimas de restri??o (PCR-RFLP). A express?o g?nica foi conduzida utilizando a t?cnica de PCR em Tempo Real (qPCR) e o fen?tipo de maciez da carne foi analisado em textur?metro. Os dados foram analisados estat?sticamente utilizando o procedimento GLM do SAS. O procedimento UNIVARIATE foi utilizado para verificar a normalidade dos res?duos da express?o dos genes em estudo (expressos com 2-?Ct) e dados de maciez. As m?dias foram comparadas pelo teste de Tukey e as correla??es de Pearson testadas pelo teste de t. O polimorfismo j? descrito no GH foi tamb?m detectado na popula??o estudada no presente trabalho, o gen?tipo heterozigoto AB apresentou m?dia 2,78kg a mais de peso ao abate do que os indiv?duos AA, para a MSTN os indiv?duos com gen?tipo heterozigoto M1M2 apresentaram maiores escores para peso ao abate, enquanto para o gene IGF1 os animais heterozigotos AB apresentam carne menos macia. O grupo com menor peso ao abate apresentou maior express?o dos genes DGAT1 e FATP, o que pode refletir maior deposi??o de gordura de gordura na carca?a e maior maciez, em compara??o com o grupo de maior peso.
